I'm a die heart clasher and maintain 3 accounts. For the last 7 months I've been using the app 2 lines for clash of clans to allow me to switch between all 3 accounts on my phone While on a kit Kat rom. I made the choice to update my at&t note 3 a few days ago to a stock rooted lollipop rom I got off xda. The phone and everything is running smoothly. Only issue I have is that same app "2 lines for clash of clans" does not recognize that I have root and will not work. It just displays a message saying I need root access or busybox installed. Well I downloaded busybox and still get the same message. This is no life or death matter but it made it so much easier for me. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get it to work? Maybe it's just not compatible with lollipop.
Thanks

Just a thought, I was running Lollipop with SuperSu pre-installed on rom (as a system app) and I had a couple apps say that I did not have root. So I installed SuperSu from play store and and granted SuperSu premission to SuperSu and everything worked fine then.
Thanks. Un Installed SU and busy box and re installed both but same message
Bump
Last bump.
Thanks guys

Hey,
i have a really strange problem. i rooted my KFHD some time ago. everything worked fine, superuser, google playstore, es-fileexplorer with system and so on. some days ago i wanted to install the app kindlefree (posted here in forums). but when i opened the app it said, it would need a rooted device. root checker from the play store also says "no root". superuser lists two apps with full permissions: es-fileexplorer and sixaxxis (use ps3 controller for android). both apps work fine and with the file explorer i can go up to the system files of the KFHD.
Maybe this problem has something to do with the amazon update. systeminformation says im on 7.2.3_user_2330720
so my quastion is what has to done, to fully root my device again? is it only some sort of bug or do i need to do the whole root-process + installing vending.apk etc. again?...i dont hope so because the rest of my device works really great but is was a long process
Does anyone else the same problem? thank you guys
If you were updated then you will have to re root all over again.
I recommend turning off the ota updates after you do it all again.

Hey All !
I have a HTC One and I'm fairly a fanatic about conserving battery life so much so I used to be quite happy when I got 2 days out of it when it was first purchased, after the Android 4.2 update it went down although after scouring the internet I managed to bring it up with some good tips and tricks. I've recently looked into rooting and I took the plunge after I was convinced by the benefits although I would seem to have run into a problem of a weird sort !
I followed a video which showed me how to unlocked the bootloader and root the HTC One and It worked with the SU application showing my phone was rooted, I took the liberty of downloading a custom ROM and after downloading a few root applications, I've been getting notifications from some saying my phone has to be rooted and the app seizes to work. I've downloaded arious root checking apps and out of 5 apps which were downloaded, only 1 said my phone was rooted. I'm quite confused as I downloaded an app called "Greenify" when my phone wasn't rooted and it wouldn't work and now I downloaded it and it actually works ! I downloaded Titanium Backup and that wouldn't work along with a host of others asking for root permission.
I was wondering if anyone could be kind enough to tell me what to in order to remedy this, if not can someone advise on how to delete the ROM so I'm working with just a stock version of sense WITH root capabilities (before ROM installation)
Thanks !
Has anyone had problems with their Moto X losing root? Maybe like every 2 or 3 days my phone loses its root access. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason on why it does. If i reboot my phone, my root access is back and works fine for the next few days and then its gone again until another reboot. Its so weird. It doesn't matter which app that I run. I'm running kitkat now. I had no problems rooting it. I don't recall having the problem when I was running on 4.2
No issues here, I've been rooted and stable for a few months now.
The only time I ever lost root on a phone was when I installed Airwatch for corporate email and apps and stuff. I didn't -know- I was losing root or I never would have done it. Strangely everything that was previously granted SU access worked, but any new requests were not processed.
Have you installed any apps or changed anything else in your system? What method did you use to root?
Is SuperSU just being removed, or it stops working? Sounds strange for sure.
It sounds like you're having the same problem I had, I could be wrong though. Here's the thread I created, give it a shot.

This seems to make sense. I would bet that most people that root are also running MotoWPNoMo (or whatever it is..) as well because things like Xposed and other apps that install as system apps won't work without this, or booting through recovery as described.
I ran it right away because Xposed wouldn't work, and haven't had any issues.
You're not losing root... The issue is that JCase's rooting method uses an exploit to disable write protection, and sometimes the write protection comes back.
If you're on 4.2.2, just run MotoWpNoMo from this thread - > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551113
I don't have any crazy apps or new frameworks installed. That motowpnomo is that for KitKat or 4.2.2?

Hi, maybe someone in here can help me. I just received a Gear vr and I can not get it to work. I am on a custom rom on the sprint network. Here is what happens:
I plug it in and it says to unplug it to install the software. It installs some software and I go to install let's say 'Oculus 360 photos' and at the end a message pops up saying 'unable to install oculus 360 photos'. I pull down the status bar and click on the failure and it says I have to update the software. I update it and it looks like I'd downloads something but never actually updates. That's where I am. Nothing installs, nothing works. Pretty frustrating...

I had the same problem. Went back to stock and it works great. Maybe today I'll root my phone and stay on stock to see if it's a kernel issue. If I do I'll update you.
You probably do not have the required Facebook apps on your ROM. You need at least com.facebook.system and com.facebook.appmanager.

I do have both of those on my phone. It's probably being rooted or the custom ROM.

Yes, please let me know. I think it has to do with the custom ROM or being rooted.

No problem with being rooted. Custom ROM 100% the case. You need a stock-based TW kernel and therefore stock TW rom with the VR update built-in

Thanks for the update. I think that's my problem. I don't think there is a rooted stock based kernel on Sprint.

It's not the kernel. Finally just installed the newest v9 kernel and rooted my phone. I suggest maybe starting with stock, install the vr software and run once then root. Soon I'll install the newest renegade full rom and see what that does.
It's not the rom either. I may be telling you to do more than you have to but maybe just go to stock, get vr apps then root and clean install full rom. Everything is great for me.
Hey, Did you guys solved it?? I have the same problem
I have a G928P, and I had rooted for unlocking it. Because of this problem, I unrooted the phone... Now I get the ****ing free hand activation message (at least it kept unlocked), but the problem is still there... Any idea???

I solved it. (More or less...)
Edit the file is downloading in the folder "Download" of your cell phone BEFORE it finish. For a reason that I DON´T understand, the software delete this file once it is completed, instead to install it. When you edit the name in the meantime is downloading, you impide it. Then, rename it back to .apk (if not it will keep as ".apk_downloading so you can´t install it), and install it manually.
It finally works.
Does anyone knows how could I impide the file gets deleted? I don´t mind if I have to install it manually, as long as I can. So far, when the app is not very big, I have to be VERY fast in the editing..., or I will not be able to do it.
Im curious, oculus vr worked flawlessly, unil i installed "package disabler pro" and removed "bloat".
I have read that facebook apps are required (rediculous... F*+-ing facebook bulls&*#@.)
Bit is anyone aware of what "bloat is required for functionality?

Hello,
I had the same kind of issue on my note 4: update & install of the essential apps were always failing (photos 360, videos, videos 360).
I managed to update by renaming the downloaded file before it got deleted, but I had to do the same operation for all apps then install them manually before I could access the Oculus store.
I wonder why installs fail like that. I rooted the phone with cf-auto-root to be able to use my PS3 controller wirelessly. Maybe it is becuse the kernel is slightly modified for root?
EDIT: Also it seems I will need to use the same method for all installation I do from the oculus store! I really want to fix this. I'll probably try unrooting...
Rooted, it will not work

If the phone is rooted, it will not work. No matter how you install the apps, it will never open oculus.
I had to unroot, and it worked again (installing apps manually, as I explained before). Once rooted again, I even tried to substitute the kernel for the original one. That allowed me to enter in Oculus, but the VR never worked. I had to unroot again.
Does anyone know how to impide it delete the apk file automatically? At least that would help.
Finally got into the process and sign into oculus app
Hi guys,
I finally succeeded in getting the download process working:
- log the samsung app output with logcat via adb
- click on install button of the Gear Vr configuration wizzard
- catch the called urls on logcat and copy/paste them on your browser to download the APKs
( for me : prePost_20160128024220687.apk
prePost_20160128024344077.apk
prePost_20160330073402086.apk
prePost_20160330073501789.apk
prePost_20160330073641987.apk
prePost_20160330073735750.apk)
- install them in the order the urls were called ( adb install -r prePost_20160128024344077.apk )
- on the device, stop the download using the cross
- click the install button again
The download should now be successful.

Hey do you known if your phone is a little cracked if the vr will still work good
I got a note 5 SM-N920W8 Telus last week. First thing i did was to upgrade to marshmallow, and then root it. I rooted it fine, wiping the phone in the process of installing the custom recovery. Now i've used plenty of apps that require root, and all have worked fine. About 15 minutes ago I try to go in "Ad away" to disable it temporarily to check if firefox was gonna to react faster on loading pages (it seemed so fast last week, but sluggish lately) only to find out Ad away is complaining I dont have root access anymore. So I go and check in SU , and sure enough, he also complains I don't have root. Marshmallow 6.0.1
Who deleted my root?
The only thing different I recall doing on my phone recently, and could coincide with me not noticing it between 2 apps that need root, was that in the settings, I went into "Smart manager". In there, I was curious to see what this "Device Security" (deactivated) could hold.
Anyone else has had their root removed? Or is there anything else I should look out for , background process or something , that targets my root? I just reflashed it, and it works fine again, but that just never happened to me before..
I have the same problem?? Did you get any answer from any body? Do I have to re root again?
Just flash super su in recovery. Same thing happened to me and i don't know what is the cause of the problem

Im having similar issues. 6.0.1 on my tmo note 5 rooted perfectly using Max Lee's method. However as soon as I rooted and transfered all my data back I did a nandroid backup. Happen to wipe my phone the other night and and restored the nandroid backup and as soon as it restored I lost root. Happens everytime I restore even a newer nandroid in twrp. Never had this happen on any root method on any note.
WTF..
It's happened again this morning.. Root dissapeared by itself. The only recent thing I can think I did , was buying a game (The cave) from play store last night.
Any way to identify what is removing SU ?
Flash SuperSU 2.74 and delete 'SecurityLogAgent'
I also lost root
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on the Sprint Network. I just now noticed that my applications that require root access, including Titanium Backup are reporting that my device is no longer rooted. Weird. This has never happened in the past when I had rooted Samsung phones. I will re-flash the Super User file as instructed in this thread and see if that resolves the issue.
---------- Post added at 03:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:32 AM ----------
Per your insstuctions, I reflashed SuperSU 2.74 using TWRP. Then once my Note 5 rebooted, I launched Titanium Backup and found "SecurityLogAgent" and uninstalled it. However, in order for me to access TWRP I have to reinstall it using ODIN and immediately after I get the green "PASS" light in ODIN I have to quickly do the 'three finger' button press to launch TWRP. Weird....
Anyway, so far so good.
Thank you.

Thanks that worked to a certain extent. Titanium requesting root privileges for backup would still pop up as failed. Checking root would show as unrooted. The Superuser app was updated on the 5th of July 2016. Since I applied that update, i have not lost root on any of my devices.
