Screwed up my ROOT ... Urgent Help! - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so I successfully rooted using this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...sy-steps-stock-odin-n910tuvu1anih-cf-t2903733
Everything went just fine until I tried to do a stock backup within TWRP . As I hit backup, the phone rebooted and got stuck at the TMobile bootanimation screen forever [ I left it for a good 60 mins ]
Then, frustrated, I did a battery pull, went back in to TWRP and did a system wipe [ dont ask me why!! ]
Since then, I've been in a boot loop and trying to get in to TWRP [ vol up + home + power ] gets me to this screen:
Android System Recovery <3e>
KTU84P.N910TTUVU1ANIH
then there are options :
reboot system now
apply update from adb
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apple update from cache
Then, there's the Android guy laying down with his belly open and a red triangle with an exclamation mark popping out!
at the very end of the screen, at the lower left corner, the following message is displayed:
dm-verity verification failed...
Now, what do I do ??? I'm so F-ked
Pls help!!!!

Get into download mode using volume down, power, and the home button during boot up.
Odin back to stock.
Then you can reroot, etc.
Might want to try a different version of the team win recovery next time around.
---------- Post added at 01:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 AM ----------
Also, you don't have a custom recovery if you get the screen you're getting with volume up, power, and home button.
That's the stock recovery.

Unable to reboot in download mode

I find my newly purchased tab 8.9 very laggy with the stock TouchWiz
Before returning it I wanted ti try the Overcome rom to see if it can get any smoother.
I carefully followed there instructions but I am unable to go past the downloading droid. once I validate with the right button volume, the tablet simply reboots.
Does anyone else have this issue?

Let me get this right: you sucessfully flashed Overcome, and want to ODIN but when you try to get in Download Mode, it reboots, is that it? If so, that's the first time I've heard this issue. How are you trying to enter Download Mode?

I see. The Overcome thread also has the CWM Recovery as a .zip file which is flashable through Stock Recovery (same procedure as flashing Root). You just put the file in your internal SDcard and flash away. If you still have doubts, read a little bit here, as I'm sure that will clear any doubts you might have.

Yes I have done that and I get to the menu with the droid blinking with "downloading" written under it. The issues is when I validate instead of showing the dowload menue it simply reboots...

Don't expect perfection from a port, ever (port = a ROM that's not native to the device). The motley kernel, along with UV can help you in the battery department.

Sorry to comeback to it but after having flashed a couple or ROM with CWM I want to come back to the stock rom using ODIN and I cannot enter the dowload menu.
My system right now is a stock ROM us retail P7310UEKHA flashed with CWM and CWM and I want to install a 3.2 stock ROM using ODIN.
The way I try to access the download menu is
1. Turn off the tab
2. wait 30 sec
3. restart with the down volume pressed
4. when the reaching the menu between recovery and dowloading. Select dowloading with the down volume button and validate with the up volume button.
Result: a black screen for 3 seconds and then the tab reboots

A corrupt bootloader that may be. Reflash KHA (CWM version alterbridge posted) to see if it solves it.

Thanks lupu666ro. I've tried installing stock Rom with CMW but nothing works. I have found very sparse info about nvflash. It looks like the solution but I'm a bit wary about tring this without a instructions. Could give me more info or point me to a tutorial
Thanks!
Still no luck...
So I have tried reflashing the stock US retail ROM and ran the EULA3 OTA update over it. I can't seem to figure this out.
The OTA update entered the download mode for a few seconds during the update so I am wondering if I don't simply have a locked bootloader.
I have made a video to show the problem: http://youtu.be/b09-x31ldbs

On the download warning screen you are hitting volume down, not up. Volume up is the button closest to the headphone jack..

Bricked Galaxy Ace

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I don't think so... Anyway I had a perfectly working Galaxy Ace coming with stock Android 2.3.4. So I tried rooting it, and I did see the superuser icon but I couldn't apps into the SD card. So I ignored it and downloaded a custom rom and entered recovery mode, wiped data and cache first and rebooted. Then I installed the rom in recovery mode and it said installation successful but when I rebooted I got stuck at the "GALAXY ACE" page and I noticed a weird small blue triangle at the top left hand. And nothing happens. Please help it's nearly brand new! My parents don't know yet... If there is a way to use the com and download the stock rom please provide step by step instructions that was my first smartphone so much help would be appreaciated!

Am not an expert but i would take battery out then put back in holding volume down key home key and power key at sametime to put into download mode then flash your stock rom via odin to get it back running again
have you done a datwipe in cwm after installing? try that first
Hey there!
Before We get to ODIN
Start phone in recovery mode ( Center Button + Power Button ) and then:
- Do a Factory Reset
- Do Wipe Cache
Then Reboot
If he boots great!
If not and still remains at ACE screen do this:
1st - Download Odin 4.38 (http://www.4shared.com/rar/UqBhp5Qd/Odin_Multi_Downloader_v438_www.html)
2nd - Download Cooper.ops (http://hotfile.com/dl/138852983/36a55ea/Cooper_v1.0.ops.rar.html)
3rd - Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ and search firmware for your s5830
Then choose the rom that suits you best (download one from your country if possible)
After the above steps are done open odin
At "option" select - "One Package, Auto-Reboot And Protect OPS"
At "select OPS" - choose "Cooper.ops" (The file you´ve downloaded)
At bottom is "One Package" - In here put the file of the room you´ve dowloaded
Finaly put phone in download mode (Vol. Down + Power Button) and connect it to your PC.
Wait for odin to recognize your phone, a yellow sign will light up, ( you need samsung kies in your computer so odin recognize your phone)
And then hit "Start"
Wait about five minutes at the end your phone should reboot by itself
And that should be it
If your phone reboots but stuck ate samsung boot animation.
Remove Battery
Put it back again
Turn your phone into recovery mode ( Center Button + Power Button )
Do Wipe Factory/Reset and Wipe cache, reboot,
and your good to go!
I rebooted I got stuck at the "GALAXY ACE" page and I noticed a weird small blue triangle at the top left hand

the blue triangle isn't this CWM 5?
or if can you get to recovery mode try flashing the original stock recovery first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437426
then install a stock rom with Odin
and boot from the stock recovery to fix the phone boot
if recovery is working you should fix the phone easily with stock rom.
installing a stock rom will install the stock recovery by itself!
so no need to flash stock recovery before flashing stock rom!
Can someone please explain what went wrong here in the first place?

Did you update this way to official ICS?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25947847&postcount=4
If you already did above, then try this:
0. Disconnect USB
1. Power off
2. Hold vol+ & home & power, let go of power once you see Samsung logo
3. You'll be in a special recovery mode. From here you can choose factory reset.

Yeah, I thought maybe you skipped something. I had CheckROM v6 on mine, it's was gingerbread rom. I did a PC Odin upgrade using the stock ICS, and everything was still there working. I did do another factory reset tonight from the settings and not in the recovery menu. Could it be a corrupted download of stock ICS? Some people were saying if you had a custom ICS before, this method won't work. Are you able to put back stock gingerbread?
I have this same problem. Cant get past samsung logo. I tried flashing several times, did factory reset, just wont work. I flashed using heimdall, not odin, would that make a difference?
Flashed back to 2.3.6, that works fine. Tried reflashing official ics, same problem, stuck at samsung logo. Factory reset in cwm does not work. Any ideas?
Hey buddy, I had the same problem tonight when I tried to restart my phone after a build.prop update - changing the wifi interval from 15 to 120... doh!
Got stuck at the boot screen and so out of desperation I decided to wipe, it didnt work. I was still stuck.
So I flashed XXLC1 (Open Euro) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 with PC Odin and it came back ok . I lost root though but thats no biggie, at least I have a working phone now.
Hope that helps you. Good Luck!

flashing stock firmware problems

Hi all,
I'm having an odd issue. No matter whether I used Odin or Smart Switch I can simply not flash a stock firmware. Regardless of the method, the following always happens.
Downloads firmware to device
Reboots
Shows Android dude with "Installing update"
Stops half way through
Shows Android dude with "Erasing"
Disappears after few seconds
Reboots
Nothing is changed. Same as before the whole process...

Make sure you uncheck auto reboot in Odin! Do not allow it to reboot the phone! Flash the stock firmware again and after it says success unplug the phone and immediately press and hold the volume down button and power button at the same time and when the screen comes back on select factory reset and after its finished the phone will reboot on it's own and you're done it should work correctly.

That's because you are trying to to root it I'm guessing? You either flashed the wrong kernel, or you actually did not turn on oem unlock in developer options. You'll need to restore it back to stock and then turn on oem unlock then flash a kernel/recovery and then retry what you're trying to do.

Make sure you uncheck auto reboot in Odin and as soon as it's done and says success disconnect the phone and immediately press and hold the volume down button and the power button at the same time and when the screen comes back up you HAVE to select factory reset wipe if you don't you'll be stuck again just let the little android dude install the update and then the phone will reboot and you'll be ok.

What do you mean the same old firmware? That firmware is just stock firmware so you can at least get back up and running to try rooting it again.
You asked for the stock firmware...

LOL it's better to extract the .tar from the md5 so it doesn't have to be verified which is what's causing it to not work for you.

Download one of these for your phone. .

Unzip the md5 you get from the sammobile site and flash only the .tar

Dag nabit I lost ALL my data. Jesus H xrst. Lucky I use cloud back up for my pictures. At least I have those. All my music is gone though. Dude thanks a million though at least I am up and running again. The process was simple enough but I would have never figured it out. Ive got a long day ahead of me now. I have to re configure my phone. Anyway, I owe you a beer.
Flashing phones never used to be this brutal. What happened?
MrMike2182 said:
What do you mean the same old firmware? That firmware is just stock firmware so you can at least get back up and running to try rooting it again.
You asked for the stock firmware...
"I'm having an odd issue. No matter whether I used Odin or Smart Switch I can simply not flash a stock firmware. Regardless of the method, the following always happens.'
So I gave it to you.

Shoot sorry I should have mentioned that it was going to erase everything (I found out the hard way to lol) But even if I had known that I wouldn't have been able to get them back anyway once you can't get in to change the settings to file transfer.. I'm glad I back everything up to my laptop! The phone companies are locking the phones down tightly "for our own interests they say" which is BS and totally goes against what Android open source is supposed to be about!!!

What's wrong with your phone booting normal? I don't understand what you're trying to do.. What's the CSC have to do with anything?

There is no full firmware with Bootloader 5, there not even any of G935 was OTA updated to Bootloader 5 as of yet. . There are only combination files witch you should not flash unless you need to fix your phone. So i'm sorry but you stuck on it.
Can't seem to get it to download... through computer or phone
Edit: I got it.... thanks

Yes. You can flash directly and this will wipe data in your phone.

Stock ATT firmware
Thanks tons, now stuck in a boot loop cannot even turn off. I have tried various ways to get the U version and if I get this back to stock, think I will sell it and buy a U version. Hate carrier proprietary garbage.:good:

Bootloop
You need to get to recovery and clean cache
Have a ask a really dumb question, How do I get to "clear cache" in recovery? And of course, googled it, just have to charge some. I did achieve root earlier, just trying to get the "U" mod installed. Thanks tons
edit: Did the steps so now I have a blinking message saying recovery booting...

Press and hold power, home and volume button up anthill Samsung splash screen. Then let go and for recovery menu to popup.
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA Premium HD app
Boot loop and maybe bricked
I still cannot get to the cache to clear it.
Here what I have right now.
hold power button, screens goes black then have the first screen of start, S7 edge, it goes off and comes back on
i can get into down load mode, tried reloading the stock firmware but get a write error, model miss-match
if arrow down goes to start up boot loop, if arrow up does into downlaod
power off (does not really shut off)
Vol up + home + power, gets the recovery booting loop
Odin sees the phone, but any writes all seem to fail. Sometimes have to use Odin Prince sometimes 3.12.7
In 12/.6 tried to load the S7 edge qual com image file from rooting, and that said fail in red.
Tried to flash back stock but like I said earlier, says product code miss match
I had tried to use odin to do that update and that probably is what screwed the pooch.
Any ideas?
eror 404 not found broken link very nice...
error 404
can you upload the file again ?
@norbarb you need to take all your links down if you're not going to reupload them.
Boot loop and recovery boot loop
You need to get to recovery and clean cache
ok so, is there a way to fix this with boot lop and recovery in boot loop?
Odin comsy sees the phone but ADB does not... Hoping to get this fixed and working again. Had to buy a phone so using a SM-G930V. At least no more ATT for me....
Anyone???
Here you go guys enjoy.

Disregard - sorry, didn't see the new link.
Edit: Thanks for the updated files! I'm not sure why it failed the first time, but it worked the second time.
