Hello.
When in ActiveSync mode try to disable the faster dat syncronization; Win7 should now be able to detect your phone.
Otherwise try to upgrade the USB phone driver in the Device manager (letting Device Manager search the internet for the updated driver).
This worked for me
Best regards
S
My copy of windows 7 (64bit) which i bought on 22nd oct, didnt have the sync software originally installed. when i connected the phone for the first time it automatically downloaded the sync software.

didnt had to install anything.
plugged in my phone, windows devicecenter came up and i was all done.
sounds more like a not working USB port (driver issues) or a win7 RC release
Hi i just want to know if anyone notice or can clarify this problem
When i plug my galaxy s download mode
in home pc all usb ports are highspeed usb 2 windows7 ultimate 64bit
it detects my device but
in office pc all usb ports are non highspeed windows xp 32bit (lowtech)
it wont detect the device
i keep reinstalling my KIES hoping someday it will work but im giving up.
This is my last effort so if someone has a usb2 and non usb2. can u test this?
reasons: office internet are faster so im trying to update firmware in the office via kies although i can just use odin at home but i'm scared something might go wrong
thanks a lot
The Win8 file explorer often hangs when using a Windows Phone 8 device connected via USB. And it's slow when it doesn't permanently hang. Is this a bug in Windows Phone 8 or should I try to access it with some other software?

I use to get that when I was using Windows 7 but not now with Windows 8, the one thing I am getting now with Windows 8 is that I have to sometimes restart the phone for Windows 8 to see it but I'm thinking its faulty USB drives on my PC.
The MTP host service on the phone is not the fastest or smoothest thing. I don't believe it is anything wrong with your phone in particular. Bear in mind that you aren't actually browsing the file system (as you would be with USB Mass Storage, or UMS); you're browsing a representation of it which is made available over Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). Unlike UMS, MTP requires code running on the phone to produce that representation, send it over the wire, and process data coming from the PC.
I have not being able to connect the Turbo to much of anything, I have the paid versions of FoxFi and EasyTether and cannot connect to my Samsung Tablet, Acer Tablet via wifi or BT tether at all. Now to add insult to injury I cannot connect just simply as a USB device to my Windows XP laptop. The Turbo does connect to my Windows 7 desktop but that is 1 out of 4. If anyone is having better luck than me and is willing to share I would be most grateful.
Some reason my desktop wont work usb with android products (mine are note 3 and note 8 tablet). in device manager the samsung MTP Device comes up but with a excemation code 10. in usb controllers theres a samsung mobile usb composite device( is that supposed to be there?) if i uninstall that then reconnect my phone it shows up in explorer for like a minute then dissapears then back to where im at. if i plug it into another pc its works fine so i dont know whats wrong. btw im running windows 10
no help?
Is the computer a trusted device under development settings? Maybe try a different USB port or USB cables?
I've done so much to get this to work. I don't where to look for that in dev settings. I've done different cords/ports. It works on my laptop just fine. It's a driver issue and I don't feel like reinstalling windows lol
