there has gotta be some kind of a loophole here
my excuse for answering the question completely wrong is that i was very very drunk, look at my orig answer, cleary retarded at the time

Amazing
An amazing sound to wake up to:
Marco Denmark & Deadmau5 - Tiny Dancer(yes thats the Elton John song)
Or
Deadmau5 & Rob Swire - Ghosts 'N stuff
I use "Here Comes The Sun" by The Beatles. It's a very soothing song, it's much better than waking up to an annoying, repetitive beep.

Exactly! That's why Here Comes The Sun works so well. But I change mine a lot. Currently, it's She's Got A Boyfriend Now by Boys Like Girls. Haha
well i put some of the deathmetals mp3 in a random way... so that does the job for me...
hey guys.
does your alarm go off automatically after 3-5 seconds? I did not press the dismiss or any button yet it will go off. what should I do?
What phone do you have? Mine doesn't do that, it repeats until i press dismiss
This is good.
Try it.
I love the iPhone's Piano alarm. Reminds me of Bad to the Bone. I'd love to have a lovely synthetized voice that reads the weather and unread email count to me
Listen up this here's yo Mamma.

Every smartphone i have owned has had a screen on/off button. If i want to use the phone i turn the screen on. When i'm done with it i turn the screen off.

To Prevent pocket dialing, and to provide extra security, with unlock patterns/passwords.
Its one more place to add things that will end up draining your battery so you go to your device specific forum and moan about terrible battery life that only exists because you dont know how to use your goddamn phone
Thats what

Ignoring for a moment how unlikely it is that your butt will dial anything, even with the screen on... if you turn the screen off it doesn't register input so the question remains, why would a lockscreen help when you can just turn off the screen before pocketing the phone?

Unless i'm wrong, you can have a PIN and/or unlock pattern prompt upon waking the screen if you want it.

That sounds more like it. Perhaps people just enjoy having unnecessary layers of complexity on their phones just so that they can have a slide to unlock button to play with?
I've had a smartphone in my pocket all day, every day for five years now. I've never used a lockscreen and can assure everyone that my butt has never dialled anybody!

Some jobs require a lockscreen on smartphones. Moreover, if you have sensitive information on your phone (or porn), you might not want others being able to snoop through your phone on the event it gets into their hands.

How does this happen when the screen is off Do you guys have butts that can somehow press a hardware button to turn the screen on, select a messaging app, touch a text input field and then type??
Freaks
Security wise i can sorta understand the need now. (I assumed that you can have a pin/pattern prompt on screen wake independant of any lockscreen when it seems you can't). Seeing as how smartphone theft is rife it surprises me that anybody would leave one laying around though. Surely having spent £500 on a phone, the best place for it is in your pocket so that your GF, thieving neighbour etc can't get their grubby mitts on it?

Hello everybody!
I very recently switch from an iPhone 5 to a Moto X, and am having difficulties receiving group messages from iPhone users when I am the only one in the group who does not use and iPhone or iMessage. I surmise this is due to the fact that my phone number is still associated with iMessage and when messages are sent to me, it still believes I have an iPhone. I have done everything I can to remove my phone number from my Apple ID, but am still having no luck 3 days later. I was told by apple support to wait 24-48 hours for the situation to resolve itself, but that clearly did not work. Has anybody else run into this issue and found a way to resolve it? I read one article that claims it may resolve itself after 30 days once the iMessage servers are reset. This is so frustrating! The funniest part, though, is that my friends think its my phone's fault and that android phones suck...
Do you still have your iPhone?
This is happening to me as well, it has been about 10 days now and it still tries to send as iMessage when my friends text me. I contacted Apple support, talked to 3 different people, escalated, basically they said either have your friends delete the existing thread with you in it (which most of mine won't do because it is as much as years worth of back and forth) or wait it out and eventually the iPhone should poll the server and see that you're not registered to iMessage anymore. I have no idea when this will actually happen if ever. This is always the most annoying part of switching between iPhone and Android for me which I do fairly often.

You've probably already tried this but it can't hurt to ask. Have you tried having your friends hold down the send button when sending you a message in the thread addressed to you and manually selecting send as text, or in the thread sending you a message and when it fails press and hold on the message and select send as text? The option to send as text must be enabled under their messaging options.

Yeah unfortunately that only works for a while then hours later it goes back to trying as iMessage again. Super annoying knowing it's annoying all my iPhone friends (most of them). Thanks for the suggestion though. Appreciate it!

Takes 30 days for imessage to reset completely.
Apple customer care sucks ass. Dealt with it for 27 days until they told me it's going to fix itself after 30.
Tell your friends it's cause apple sucks. What a stupid sounding app. Lol.

Also.... You know why it's like that.... Apple is hoping the young people who can't live without messaging day and night.. Will get fed up when they realize what you have realized... And go back to apple.... or else they'll miss all the gossip.
Sneaky apple!

Don't have to do it all but try the imessage section

hopefully your iphone5 is still up and running and your apple ID is still on there. if not, then reconnect it. once you have your apple ID reconnecting and imessage up and running.... open up the messages setting on your iphone and turn off imessage from there. then restart both the iphone and moto x. it should all be treated as regular sms from that point forward. thats my fix when i go back and forth between using my ip5 and moto x.
Just another reason why... well you know what
Sorry for the useless post, but just had to say it

If you can't find a use for a watch that sends and receives phone calls, text messages, emails, can play games, calculate, countdown, set alarms, reminders, has a calendar, take pictures/videos, display pictures/videos, control media (music), count daily steps, post to Facebook/Twitter, or many many other things you can imagine, you're not very open minded or creative. The watch is probably glad you sold it.
