After falling in love with this rom on the 12b but the 5.1 builds not working for VS980 data on Verizon, I decided to build this out. It's built from RR source and big thanks to Yoinx for fielding my very, very dumb questions, JackpotClavin for some of his sources.
RR changlog can be found on their G+ or their Twitter.
Bugs:
Same things as other 5.1.1 roms.
Lift to Wake / Ambient Display don't seem to work for me. I have no idea how varund7726 got this working in his official builds.
Data after a reboot if you connect to Wifi can be hit or miss. Change APN to something else and it should start working again.
Slow charging on a lot of different chargers (wireless, USB) and only my 2a and 1.8a charge at something faster than 30a. I use a BB 1.8a charger.
Build date 7/13/2015 5.5.1

Seriously though. Thanks to Yoinx for fielding my very, very stupid questions and helping me get the commits added in as well. Dude is great.

Don't you post this on every rom thread?
If dt2w doesn't work for you, there may be a problem with your phone...
Edit :
Nvm, it's different names posting it each time... Which is confusing because there was never a dt2w issue to begin with.
Dirty flashing over 12b base is fine, all you have to do is flash 39a bootstack and then flash this Rom without wiping anything and works fine, just to let peopple know, i've tested it my self.

The main issue that people ran into with the initial 5.1 roms had it not working. It looks like it was fixed between then and 5.1.1 and should be good for these roms, or at least the 39a ones - I haven't been on 12b in a few weeks so I'm not sure about there.
@ming3r
Thanks a ton for releasing this for us on 39a, since all the other 5.1 ROMs have flakey data for us.
This device is the only one of seems that gets device only builds, so all of you guys are greatly appreciated.
Another happy 39A user. Thanks again. It's time the MING dynasty !!! :good:

Data was about as fine on XenonHD 39a for me when I used that for the past few weeks.
One thing I've found to help (on 39a) is in Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names->VZWINTERNET setting the bearer type to LTE from Unknown. It's helped over the past few weeks for me.
LS980 I think has similar stuff for people to build but eh, that's Sprint and I only built this because I love RR and have this phone.

Sorry, it's me in the other post.
You're right about DT2W. I think the right question is if DT2S work ?
With 5.1, I've seen the phone wakes soon after DT2S. Work-arounds:
+ Covering sensors while DT2S
+ Disable DT2W --> this is where the question "does DT2W work ?" meaning we can have it enabled and DT2S still works.
Edit: DT2S is achieved with other lauchers (Nova, Apex..) and a Screen-Off app.
@ming3r
That's what I was referring to. The only 5.1 ROMs that consistently work for us as the ones here, built on 39a versus 4.2
And yeah, its definitely a CDMA thing, as us and ls980 are the only ones that seem to have recurring issues with data and sim activation.
The only dev that has an ls980 that I know of is Chris from vanir, no one else will step up to the plate and do anything for them.
This will be the only thing I miss about vzw, is the community, not the g2 community but people with a vs980.
You, yonix, jpc, xdabbeb, micro mod, amit sen, you guys have the knowledge to build, and are good enough to let other people reap from your knowledge.
In don't see that coming from the other devices.

Yeah no DT2S because it's an AOSP rom, but it doesn't wake back up after I hit power button or double tap status bar.

For this, I barely know what I'm doing. I've learned a lot over the last few days with building Ubuntu from scratch but someone put out a prebuilt Xubuntu VM that gets you 90% of the way there.

I've heard good things about linuxbbq. Arch based, looks like Ubuntu, but was made for the main purpose of building android. Might be worth looking into.
And I don't care how modest you act about your knowledge, my original statement stays.

That's a kernel side issue. Is been fixed in pretty much anything built in the last 2 or 3 days you can also just flash my kernel onto whatever to fix it.
Hi, I just want to know if the selinux is set as permissive by default, thank you.

It is not.
However, the FusterCluck kernel does have it set to default and it works on this (it is what I use)

I agree, I will most likely be leaving VZW and getting a Nexus 6. I'm definitely going to miss the VS980 regulars as well.

I'd love to get this one for my old (now my wife's xt925), but I cannot Access sites via adfly due to the dumb browser here at the Office.
Are there other mirrors (or URLs without adfly) for the Rom and Gapps?
Updated
I have uploaded Resurrection Remix for xt907, xt925, and xt926 will be done uploading in the next hour. As for a mirror link I do not have one right now. I will figure out way to get one for you.

Thanks.
Someone provided another download link, but it's the version from earlier today. So a newer build would be awesome. I just tried flashing and got the message that I'd need the KK bootloader. Duuuh. I thought everything would be setup as I have cm11 on my razr HD. I found a tutorial to upgrade though. But is it really necessary to flash a stock KK rom to upgrade the bootloader, or are there workarounds? I'm still on an ancient cwm recovery. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Maybe

This is my daily driver since last update - everything (?) works and smoothest ROM I've found so far. I thank you.
(?) - the lock screen / smart lock seems a bit temperamental, but it does on all versions I've tried for this device.
Well, when i try to download, i get error 404. Is this on the first post the new link?
Sent from my RAZR HD using XDA Free mobile app
Weird
I am not sure why its doing this. I went through and checked links on my forum. There working
mirrors or other links?
I want to download this...

Eager to download and install !
Just flashed! running smooth with spirit kernel.
is it possible to add omniswitch to it?
great work!!!
Hey there,
Was going to check this out, looks promising so far but,
i used the recommended Gapps in the OP and strangely, all my purchased apps are gone (means Google tells me i haven't purchased them so i need to purchase them again? lol),
never happened to me before, any quick fix or do i need to re-flash Gapps?
Cheers and thanks for another great ROM @DC07

Oh nose :crying:
I'm sorry. Actually those gapps are old and outdated,lp5.0. I didn't checked it before and just used the template.
Might fix when you flash lp5.1 gapps which can be found here http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=banks&device=gapps
Good luck.

And thanks for pointing it out,it would've done further damage too. Update the op.
Great ROM! Thank you.
By the way I use slim gapps 5.1 with no issues.

Great ROM, thanks for your work!
I tried it clean, but I was missing Intelliplug, so I reverted back to Spirit Kernel.
I found a bug, when I plug the USB cable in, the battery indicator shows a bolt, but when I disconnect the cable it keeps showing the same bolt, even if it is not charging anymore. Apart from this, I love the ROM!

Nah bro! It's just another ROM based on CM, just like BlissPOP. Like BlissPOP, this has very similar customizations like the ones we get with the aforementioned ROM. It is like BlissPOP but not exactly, the devs of both ROMs are different!

I uploaded new links, I don't think ill have any issues with it anymore.
Rom looks great! It would also be nice if you could upload some screenshots as well.
@KillerDroid96 Great job on the build, I have zero issues. With every ROM including Official CM I usually have some issues. Cosmetically I'm able to make changes that I usually have to do with Xposed, so I thank you from bringing this ROM to us.
Since you have been having hosting issues, why not host on AFH? It'll automatically add mirrors for you too.

Thanks, also the reason I'm not using AFH is because you can't upload anything unless you are a developer. I requested developer status but they have not responded and have zero ETA. So it could take a week or a month I really don't know. The download link will be changed to that once its available.

I am so glad to see this device still getting some attention. I know Devs have busy lives and I want to say thank you for the time you take to work on the S4. You did an amazing job on this rom, I love it.

I'm not really sure if it will work with no problems. I think if anything doesn't work it would be Wifi calling and the radios. I don't see any harm in trying it as long as you have tried other L720 Roms for your device. I don't want you to end up with a bricked phone. If you do decide to flash it make sure you do a complete nandroid backup and update to the latest TWRP recovery.

It's the same hardware except for the ability to connect to Spark, it'll work fine. Depending on who your carrier is you may need the MVNO Slayer zip, but it'll work

If you would have asked me you could have simply taken over my existing RR thread.
Quote from your first post:
Are you sure?
So I think too, Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 has already been prepared before someone else... @ajsmsg78
How is this main different?
And secondly, your link is drives us to "...access denied
looks like you don't have permission to access this folder. Make sure you are signed in to an account that has permission, or check with the developer to request access..."

This version has the latest kernel which is built from source which means it's in alpha stage, buggy and lags quite a bit. I'm sure eventually it will be fixed and work just as well as the current version but I think the dev should have actually based it on Nougat if he hasn't already as there's no sense of having two threads with the same version of the rom. It's also duplicated in two different sections.
Confusion for people. ajsmsg78 has been tireless in developing RR of the same name so that it is now used as daily driver by so many people with beautiful performance. This thread should be named differently, totally differently.
Also please list the differences.

Thanks, I will try...
Ok guys, lets not mixing things here the OP builds everething from source which is the proper way to fix and develop a rom. It is completely different and has nothing to do with what ajsmsg78 do... @ajsmsg78 have done a lot but there is a limit in what you could do with prebuild ROMs. The different small bugs different users experience with his RR modifications is a prove for that... Where is the multi language for example!?
When you build from source you can fix and make anything to work as it should...
So lets not talk this way and discouraging the not so many devs we've got. And to tell you the true @karthick mostwanted is not the next @Annabathina... He is real!
adding to what nijel has clearly explained,I feel that adding something like "source" to the title would clear the confusion among users.most of the posts state how much grateful we are to the efforts of ajsmsj & nijel and are not intended to offend the op ,as it stands ajsmsj RR is currently the most stable ROM until a stable source built ROM comes along.that being said as nijel pointed out source ROM are the right way to go,so each dev deserves the credit in their own right.a simple title change would clear the issue as both threads need to co exist atleast for the timebeing.we need all the developers we can get working in harmony so we can have good development for our device, maybe who knows we might even see cm15/cm16 when they come along

Agreed...:good:
And BTW we the few are working together behind the scene and like you may already notice bugs gets fixed and good things are happening with custom roms. We are constantly in contact and exchanging ideas...
Test done!
I made factory reZet and...
- very very very long boot if have many apps (for me ~ 100). I see in liveBOOT slim deamon (bindNTKsensor - sensor server is unavailable 10000 times), su deamon & packagemanager are doing a lot of job...
- strange using of BIG cores. Got ~47700 antutu, BIG cores sometimes work faster than 800 MHZ, but not always when it need and not with ANTUTU.
- about data in 3g already known for a long, please contact with nijel8 - He has an answer about it.
- disappearing switches (flashlight sure and may be other?) from notification panel. I add flashlight but it disappears as soon as I press "ready".
But all other is ok. Good, looks good!
BIG Thanks! Just a little of efforts (I hope) and can relax and use

I assume everything that is also NOT working in an official RR release.
I have had issues with applying substratum theses specifically on the playstore
If you find any other... then report them here., and I will duly ignore
Procedure
Download the latest GApps from OpenGapps
Boot to TWRP

MANY Additional CPU Governors and IO Schedulers
I personally suggest you try FIOPS I/O scheduler, and Tripndroid CPU Governor.

NB: Development by the RR team has ceased on Nougat in favor of Oreo. However, specific unchanged components from LineageOS do have continued development (mostly minor from what I have seen). But/so do not expect many, if any updates to this ROMs current state from me.

App changes
Changes regarding apps.
1. Have replaced the unsupported/old/crippled CM File manager with a brilliant file manager called MiXplorer, thanks to the dev @HootanParsa, so go visit the thread and pass on some thanks/credit. The thread is also very active and a great spot for support
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
2. By default, RR added a menu item in settings called "Performance" which only became visible if you installed Kernel Adiutor from the market. I have by default installed the app KA-Mod-Reborn, which does the same things, without the monetization found in KA from the market. It also does not have a bug I found in KA whereby changing the CPU Gov broke the hot-plugging of CPUs. Please visit the thread to extend some thanks to the dev @Ali Haide 001 for allowing me to do so, and also visit it for any support.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/approot4-0-ka-mod-reborn-v18-t3714105
3. I have replaced the default Deskclock with OmniRom's deskclock, so thanks to OmniRom for that
4. I have replaced Eleven (the default music player) with Vinyl Music Player (Eleven has always been buggy for me with a large music collection) Originally I used Phonograph (from Omnirom), but it was missing a few features (such as a dark theme) which is in the OpenSourced GPL'd Phonograph by Kabouzeid, and Vinyl also has crashanalytics disabled. Thanks to Adrien Poupa for confirming he is happy to share :good:
5 De-bloated the RR OTA Updates (NB: It crashes if you try and select it, so simply dont), and the RR Statistics
6. Also includes the latest (as of 20 Feb 2018) Magisk and Magisk Manager
7. iOS EMOJI's

Attached is a script I place in /magisk/.core/service.d/ and also set the file permissions to 755, to enabled the IO Scheduler FIOPS and the CPU Governor to Tripndroid, and IO logging off, and cache to 1024mb, which results in my AnTuTu score as attached.

I built this ROM as my previous daily device just died :crying: so am not familiar with the "flashlight toggle bug as in other nougat roms", as I only just restarted using this device. And actually, I am waiting on a SDCard holder part from ebay, so currently I am actualy using a third device as my daily. What's the bug?

After every reboot you have to delete and readd the torch tile to quick settings once to make it work. Otherwise the torch won't turn on. Don't know about this rom either, but los14.1 has this bug.

My torch tile works every-time:good:, and I have done a number of reboots since I originally added it, so i guess it does not have this bug.:highfive:
I have just noticed one small bug, which may just be an artifact from the fix, or it could be what you are actually talking about.
The torch works correctly, and every-time without needing to re-add it to the QS Tiles. However, I have noticed that when I turn the torch off, the QS still shows it as being on until I hide the QS Tile panel. But the tile still turns the torch on and off, it just does not turn the QS tile off, when the torch is turned off.
Flashing this through TWRP 3.2.1-0 didn't work for me, stuck when patching system image, maybe the file I downloaded got corrupted?
Edit : I don't think it's corrupted, maybe I should use the recovery uploaded by kyasu?

I have both my data and cache partitions formatted as F2FS
I used the latest open GApps, Pico
In reality, I am running TWRP 3.1.0, but I really don't think that helps or hurts
Are you sure you wiped Data, Cache AND SYSTEM. You cannot dirty flash this over ANY other ROM, including another RR ROM!
Have you tried flashing just the ROM, does that boot?
It worked first time for me, and it appears others have also had success (ie no complaints) so it sounds like something on your end.
The only time it failed for me was when I tried to dirty flash over an existing RR ROM\
Wait a sec, you crashed while it was flashing? that does sound like a bad zip or (much less likely) a bad TWRP. I think ZIP. check the MD5:good:

In case anyone is thinking of reformatting their data partition to F2FS, please note, in doing so, you will also loose everything on your internal SD Card as well!
Reformatting your cache partition to F2FS is pretty safe, and I personally think of it as a "no-brainer"

ResurrectionRemix has ceased updates to Nougat. However, a lot of the source comes directly from LineageOS, so that will include some changes/fixes. As for Security Patches, these are dependent on RR, and I have seen crDroid (which is still doing dev on Nougat, and I used to build for my previous device) have included the latest security patch while RR has not. Its all up to the devs at RR, I certainly am not going to update and apply the security updates against RR source. Interestingly, the last security patch applied against RR, was actually after the date they said they had ceased dev on Nougat.
For background, my last device just died, and so I plan on switching to this device, and noticed how old the RR build was, and also saw the opportunity to use the Uber Toolchain (the last thing I did for my previous device before it died). The problem I have with this device is that the SDCard reader is faulty, and I am having issues getting the replacement part, at a good price.
So, as far as regular goes, then NO. The other RR builds are probably so backdated because of the above fact. However, if there is a change in the source that improves the ROM running on MY device, for ME, then I will do a build. Its all about me But more importantly, if I cant find a cheap WORKING sim/sdcard reader replacement, this may just be the last build. Everyone sells the part for an i9505 and they are NOT interchangeable as most would have you believe.

You hit the mark!
I have seen many images that were not continued, and this hits me in particular after a severe security bug has been identified.
The reason why I'm asking is quite simple: if you don't intend (for whatever reason) to maintain this image, I would prefer to install another one.
My interpretation of your response is that you will deliver updated images once you identify a benefit for your personal usage.
What about fixes for malfunctions?

You have to understand, most if not all ROM developers are not in this for the money. Some are into it as a hobby/interest and maybe gain experience (not me, its not my direct area), and as such, when a new version comes along, in this case Oreo, they move onto that. If you really need the latest security patches, then I would suggest moving onto an Oreo ROM. Maybe even update your device as well. Or maybe build a ROM of your own.
I currently personally like Nougat RR, for the features and eye-candy. I keep financials and very personal info off my phone; ie security is not as high a priority.

As I suggested, maybe Oreo would be best for your needs. Or something else that is still being developed. Such as crDroid. The last time I checked, they have the latest Security patch and are still developing their Nougat branch.
I get NO benefits from you using my ROM. If anything, it means more time responding to questions. However, it appears that the existing build of RR Nougat, for this device is much older, with an older security patch. And as I keep stating, RR has ceased dev, and most other devs have moved onto Oreo. I would not expect too many more other releases of RR, and they will most likely stick with the current security patch. Most official devices have had their "FINAL" builds already released. I have not checked, but these may even be on the previous security patch

I would only even look at it directly if it affects me personally, and badly. This ROM is simply a share of a build I did for myself. The changes I think you are talking of, are the type of thing the RR team (or LOS) would look into; and note, if LOS don't fix it, the RR team certainly wont, and not all LOS fixes come through into RR. I have a life and work outside of building android ROMs.
I flashed the boot.img from this rom on los14.1 to get those sweet extra governors to play around with. It's working great so far!
