[Q] Call recording on lollipop? SuperSU OTA survival? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

(I haven't updated yet)
• Can call recording still be enabled normally?
• I read the only way to get root would be using a Pre-rooted fw. Would SuperSU's OTA survival option work when going from KK to LP via OTA? It worked with the 23.0.1.A.5.77 OTA. (already answered in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3095732)

(Bump)
Has anyone tried flashing the call recording zip?

i did on 726, no luck for now

You need stock recovery and for the bootloader to be locked to get OTA updates

[Q] Root with OTA's?

On my Transformer tablet, I can root, and use Voodoo OTA rootkeeper to update via OTA and maintain root on the stock firmware + root.
Is this possible with the HTC One? From the FAQ, it appears as if I'll have to manually flash for every OTA if I want root.
Thanks!

4.2.2 OTA to 4.3 ? Root preservation ?

Hi all,
I have a few questions that burn me. Just received the OTA notification that .569 is available (304.4 MB)
I am running .67 with stock recovery, root and phone encryption. Will those be preserved if i OTA update ?

AFAIK root is lost and recovery is rewritten. I don't use phone encryption but I guess it is ok (or it would be stupid of Sony).
My experience has always been that OTA updates break root, and most of the time you wont be able to get it back until there is an exploit for the new firmware
4.3 OTA update will take away root and you will be unable to root under 4.3 directly.
You have to use the root methods shown as below(root under 4.2-flash another recovery-flash pre-root 4.3).

OTA left my root as it is. Check my post, how I did it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50052461&postcount=36
This was the first OTA that broke my root, even with supersu in survival mode.
I updated ota from 4.2 to 4.3 and kept root.

Stop Sprint MM OTA Update Notifications

I've got a rooted M8 with twrp, but now I'm getting notifications for an OTA update to marshmallow. Is there a way to stop the constant update notifications? Would flashing the latest SuperSU (with MM) be the only option?

Not receiving a Single OTA upadate of anything (i.e video app, whatsnew app)

Hi,
Not receiving a Single OTA update of anything (i.e Video app, Whats New app).
Anyone has the same problem?
Is it because of Unlocked Bootloader? I guess I received before If I am not wrong. I know we can't update via OTA, it'll fail to update when bootloader unlocked but I am not receiving any update notification.
I am on lollipop 5.1.1 stock rom.
