Hay folks. I saw that is possible to get WP 10 working on the lumia 930/Icon by changing the device id to emulate a 1520. So theoretically the same procedure can be used for the lumia 640. Would I just have to change [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Platform\DeviceTargeting Info] to something with similar hardware like the 830 or some other device ? Did anyone give this a try ?
Why would you need to? The 640 is already supported. In fact, I think it was supported before the 1520 was.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-supported-phones
Because it's actually not supported thanks to a bug in the firmware that the phones shipped with. Once you upgrade to the TP 10 you can't downgrade.
And until they fix it there are no builds available even though they claim that the phone is supported and that was the reason I bought it in the first place.

So, I've been lurking here for a while and noticed that there seems to be a way to flash the Android boot loader on a Samsung Ativ S (not sure that project is finished yet either). Would that apply to the T899M version of the phone or just the i8750? Also, is interop-unlock available to the T899M?

Speaking as the person (well, one of the two people) who developed the interop-unlock, and who has a t899m, yes of course it works. It works on all Samsung WP8 devices.
No idea where you get the bootloader idea from, though. So far as I know, nobody has managed any such thing yet.
Thanks for the reply.
There is a thread about the idea in the Development forum, and I figured that it wasn't complete yet, but was wondering if the idea would apply to both Ativ S models.

This is a phone I am highly considering to try as my first Windows Phone. I am going through cricket and wanted to know if anyone has actually updated to 8.1 from stock 8 OS ?
Also how does office perform on this phone ?
I am completely knew to WP of course but seen a thread to "unbrand" the phone. I am assuming this means to remove carrier bloat-ware and have a clean OS installed.

I didn't see that thread , but yes normally it means this will remove bloatware. (not that yyou really need it because all bloat-ware can be easy removed)
with the "preview for developers" app from the store you can easy update too wp8.1 , or just wait abit because MS is rolling out the update "cyan" for nokia's now ( not all but they will follow fast)
Office performs real fast ( but this is a personal opinion )

Nokia 1320 Question
Hi,
Is there a thread that deals with hacking/unlocking and roming of the Nokia Lumina 1320.
I love the phone but having only 4Gb of memory is killing me. If I could get two more gigs I would be happy. If I could get a custom rom I would be even happier
Thank you for any help and advice,
Z

Right now, we don't have a way to hack/unlock any Lumia devices other than the 920 (only with JTAG currently). Efforts to unlock other Lumia WP8 devices will be difficult as Nokia has made changes to the phones themselves that make the process of hacking even harder.

Hey Dreamer3kx,
Sorry for the late response I forgot to update my email so I am just seeing your message it has been a while since I have been here.
I am sure by now you know the answer(s) to you statements, yes 8.1 does but we still have not gotten 8.1 which is what actually brought me here today I came across a article from another site I'm part of wpcentral .com the article was "if you are on Cricket with Nokia 1320 and you want win 8.1 here you go". This is the article http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515453 did you see it? Have you updated your pone?

I gained more space on my Lumia 1320 and Lumia 640 XL in upgrading to Windows 10 Mobile. Also it is not the final Version of Windows 10 Mobile, just the Insider Preview, it is running well and I do not have any big Problems with it. With Windows 10 Mobile you can select to install Apps on your SD Card and so you keep the Phone Memory free for other things.

Last time I checked a few years ago, there were instructions here on how to root a nokia lumina 1320 but ONLY if it had windows 8.1 and above, not for 8.0 which is what I have. The phone was purchased 2nd hand so needs to be reset anyways. My questions are this:
Is there a way to backup the phone in case of a problem with rooting?
I will have to then install 8.1-is that still available for install?
Once that is done I have to find the program that was developed her for rooting the 1320 that has 8.1 win installed.
Any solutions to these steps with links showing where to get the program is much appreciated. Thanks for reading and any assistance.

Has this changed since you last posted on this point?
Hello,
I was wondering if anybody has made an android rom that can be flashed onto an SD card and run on a nokia lumia 1520, I've gotten sick of the lack of apps on WP8 but i really like the size and specs of my phone and would love to try out android
So if anyone knows of a devolper that has done one for my phone or knows how I can tweak one to suit it would be great!
Cheers, Evilangel984
No android on windows phone
Please search before posting.
This question already asked a lots of time.
There is no any Android ROM for any Nokia Lumia Devices.
At this time we can not flash Lumia devices with any ROM, Even WindowsRT-NT.
please close the thread.
Now there are a couple of new OEMS out there (Yezz, Blu, Prestigio....) Any chance to jailbreak one of these devices?
No yet. Secure Boot UEFI.
Jailbreak doesn't necessarily need a custom ROM, though that's one way to do it. My phone runs the stock ROM but is very hacked. It's not a full "root" though; still working on that. :-/

which phone are you using now? Hope you get the full root, any way to enable 2 column tiles on phones like Lumia 730?
Samsung SGH-T899M. I was one of the people (along with -W_O_L_F-) who figured out how to get interop-unlock on Samsung WP8 handsets, and the capability-unlock which built upon that was my own effort.
Lumias, the 730 or otherwise, you'll have to wait unless you want to try taking your phone apart and using JTAG. People are constantly working on it but nothing has, so far as I know, been published yet.

I am following your work since WP7 days Just asked about your phone hoping you have jailbroken a Lumia WP8.
The WP7 days were much better for jailbreaking and homebrew stuff with so much stuff possible by just using diagnostics and registry changes.
I was just wondering if it is possible to revert to 2 column tiles for Lumia 730, very surprising to see that Microsoft has removed the option for 2 column tiles in even devices smaller than 5 inches which was the previously mentioned size limit. Lumia 625 with 4.7 inches has both 2/3 column size but Lumia 730 at same size has only 3 column option.
And i am sure Microsoft has not removed the code and some simple trick/hack/ registry change should bring back the option of 2 column tiles.
Hi sorry to post this I'm betting its on here somewhere but I cant find it done loads of searches... Ihave a Nokia Lumia 930 on windows 8.1 is there away to install android on this phone if so any information would be grateful thankyou

Closer to Android on Lumia 930 with the release of WP internals
Are we closer to see Android (Oreo) to be ported now that the WP Internals 2.3 version has been released?
was there any success with this?
have one lumia 930 which I no longer use and want to try android on it (if possible)
reports of windows 10 for ARM

There were reports about running W10 on ARM on an 830. How to contact the devs?
I'd like to develop a ROM for it but currently I am working on my midterm exams. I also tried to build some ROMs for my Android devices (Galaxy Tab E SpreadTrum), but failed twice, the third time I mistakely made a recovery for it. If someone adds a detailed guide how to prepare the env., get the device drivers for the sensors etc. If someone is willing to give me some extensive knowlegde or at least a source for the knowledge I'll do it. Alternatively for a faster development you can alert the devs (They've probably noticed this because of the 830 hacks that allow to run W10 for ARM instead of Windows Mobile.).
I was also wondering whether there has been any update on this?
I have seen a couple of links to information that I consider suspicious. For example, there was this link to rooting the 930:
httxs://howto-android.com/how-to-root-the-nokia-lumia-930/
However, it refers to using an Android tool so how is this going to work on a Windows phone? If I am going to do this, then I want to use a method that makes sense, has been tested and is reliable.
I'm at the juncture now where I either need to think about replacing the phone battery or buying a new phone. For replacing the battery to be worthwhile in the long term I would need to replace Win10 with Android. Otherwise, the New Nokia 6 2018 looks reasonable at the budget price level that I am restricted to these days. On the other hand the 930 has been a reliable phone hardware wise and has a good camera, and I think there is still life in it, which is why I am very interested in the answer to this question. If there is an Android ROM for it, then I am eager to give it a go.
