Hi,
im trying to mirror the display of my moto g 2. gen on my LG TV which supports intel widi/miracast. However, the moto g and my TV state that no compatible device has been found. The strange thing is that other devices work without any problem, including my moto g 1. gen with also 5.0.2 on it.
Is that a bug in the moto g 2. gens rom? Can anyone confirm this feature is actually working?
In cm12 you have to edit some lines in build.prop
For stock i think you have to use the flashable zip

Oh, ok. So that sounds like there is a general problem with miracast on moto g 2. gen? I wasnt aware...
Unfortunately, i didnt plan rooting the phone. But in this case i might have to. Thanks for your help.

OK, I just got myself Moto X (16GB) and I'm coming from Galaxy Nexus.
I had to go and pay full price for a phone so I don't lose my unlimited data plan, now my goal is to be able to tether off of it), while using my Galaxy Nexus I had https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fattin.togglewidget.hotspot that I installed from Google Play that allowed me to enable tethering ... unfortunately that doesn't work w/ MotoX(
Is there any easy way like this widget to get to tethering (w/out root)?
ClockworkMod tether may work, I did the same thing as u actually... toro to Moto X full price to keep unlimited. I rooted mine and put safestrap on it and I love it to death, even a patch for native wifi tether to work bypassing the check here on xda. For what it's worth you can always RSD back to stock if you don't like it rooted or need to return it.

Correct. Make sure if u took the OTA u use RockMyMoto and not PwnMyMoto to root.

How come RockMyMoto instead of PwnMyMoto? PwnMyMoto seems like easier to do (I've tried it and couldn't get it work due to an error inside of ZIP)

You will receive them if you are on rooted stock lollipop , but you will not be able to apply them

At least if you come from 4.4.4, applying updates works fine on a rooted system. I did the update to lollipop on a rooted system. The first try failed, because Paragon and adaway were installed and build.prop was modified.
After I uninstalled the two system-modifying apps and restored the backup of build.prop everything went fine. Although SuperSU was installed and working fine.
General rule of thumb: Any modification of startup (init.d etc.) or/system folder lets the upgrade fail. That is how it was on the S3 which I used before, and it seems to be the same for Moto G 2014 (xt1068).
Please correct me if the preconditions changed with Lollipop, but it is a very common although wrong assumption that root prevents updates. Probably because everyone has adaway installed
So if i make root, i will receive new updates normally?

I am hoping to install moto g (2014) with cyanogenmod rom because of some reasons, and I am curious whether the google play allows users to use the applications given by Motorola to be installed inside Cyanogenmod rom.

I'm not running a Cyanogenmod rom and don't plan to but I'm wondering if the Motorola apps would sideload if the OP only wanted a few ew of them.

Hi, i found this flashable file on XDA, stock moto camera + moto gallery.
i'm using AOKP 7.1 and this file has solved for me the camera bug: "can't connect to camera"

moto camera works till it updates from the store, then it FC's everytime. just me?
On RR, CrDroid, AOKP I just download the moto camera app from the play store and it works absolutely fine. No force closes, no connect issues

What version do you have from the Play Store? I'm still on RR 6.X. and this one below -- from new Moto G5 -- is newer camera than I had. Thank you to @Rahuld107 for finding it!

I just downloaded this modded APK, and installed it. I then froze the older Motorola (system) camera. The new one shows up as a user app camera. For a few minutes I had two cameras, until I froze the old one.
Everything works well. Yes, it even has professional mode, but I probably won't use that. Video works well too.

I'm on RR N 5.8.3 and everything works well, except the manual focus on professional mode. It keeps shooting in auto focus on my side :/

There's been a couple of fixes I think since I posted. Go to that thread and look for v4.

After Factory Reset earlier this week. i noticed Camera Tuner for the Moto x (4) is not longer installed and now says it's incompatible with my device. Moto support is pretty unhelpful, can anyone provide an apk for it?

it's not needed anymore since they have changed the way chromatix libs are stored and loaded. so even if you install it. it will do nothing.
