Hello all,
I did the following to my XT1064
1. Unlocked my bootloader
2. Upgraded my bootloader to the latest as given here.
3. Installed TWRP 2.8.6
3. Installed cm-12.1-20150501-NIGHTLY
4. Now, stuck in CM boot animation (flashing halo)
5. Also, touch has stopped working in recovery.
P.S. After unlock+upgrade+twrp, i was able to use the phone with stock and touch was working
in twrp. It was only after installing CM, the problem has started.
I tried the power up, wait until screen turns black and touch the screen. No luck! So, flashed twrp again. Still same issue.
Any pointers?
Did you clean flash?

Yes. I was able to get touch working in TWRP by flashing stock 4.4.4 system.img alone.
I did factory reset in TWRP. Installed CM. Wiped Cache/DalvikCache and rebooted to CM.
But, it still gets stuck in the boot animation.
What is the last stable CM 12.1 for titan?

Before flashing CM were you on stock kitkat or LP?
If you were on kikat you must first boot up stock lollipop and then you can flash cm.
Anyway which the version of your bootloader?

I was on stock kitkat. Stock lollipop is not available for my XT1064(CID:14). I don't know whether
I can flash stock lollipop with different CID. If I can, I will give it a try.

I suppose that your phone is canadian, so if I'm right take a look to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/guide-lollipop-xt1064-north-edition-t2955076
Thanks. I already saw that thread and used their fsg and modem images. Otherwise, I couldn't get network connection. Anyways, I will flash the US XT1064 before installing CM 12.1 again.
OK. Installing and booting stock lollipop and then installing CM-12.1-20150502 was successful. Touch screen works!!!

Hi davidjmorin,
I recently flashed a cm nightly-20130610. It also got aborted when I installed the zip file for the first time, but when I tried it again immediately, it was successful. I don't know the reason behind it. Have you tried flashing it again immediately after it failed? I assume that your device is rooted.

Your device is CDMA or GSM? Usually error 7 come after the device check, so understand if you need a p1 or p1c version.

I fig out the error 7 issue. Now i cant get rom to install. I always get s soft brick.
I have the CDMA version. I am on stock gingerbread 2.3.4 currently. I have tried using hheimdall but cannot get that damn thing to work for the life of me. I have uninstalled drivers about a dozen times and reinstalled. Notihng will get heimdall to work and it seems every way to get jellybean on i800 is with that crap program. Is there an odin file i can use to do this?

Did you tried to flash a kernel like this via Odin?
This include CMW. After that you can install your 10.1 via CMW.
What is your currently recovery mode? If you have factory recovery mode there isn't be possible to install cyanogenmod. If you have clockwork mode you may install newer version of clockworkmod and install cyanogenmod and gapps what you want. When you install newer version of clockwork mode you may download
HTML:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=p1c
and from this site
HTML:
http://goo.im/gapps
google applications. First you install cm and after finish you install gapps but be carefully when you install cm and gapps. Download gapps for a specific software version.

follow green for recovery mode and red for download mode
you can follow this
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
If you can reach download mode, it will be fine.
Before switching between custom roms it is better to downgrade first to a stock rom and root it and flash after that another custom rom.
The reason are different system partitions, many custom roms for i9000 use different partitions than stock does. Thr devs suppose stock rom as your outgoing point before upgrading to custom rom. Now you should flash a stock rom, root it and flash MIUI after that.

1. First of all , don't worry!
2. try this USB jig-
galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-hacks/how-to-make-a-usb-jig-for-your-galaxy-s2/
3. After using this jig, your phone will come directly into download mode. Make sure that battery is charged at least 25%.
4. Now flash XXJVU 2.3.6 official. Read my post in below link-

I noticed someone else mention this, so I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, but here goes.
I flashed back to stock using the Moto X toolkit, then installed the update, no problems. I flashed CWM recovery through fastboot, then booted into it and had it install SU like always. Everything seemed fine.
I just noticed that I don't actually have root. I went to update my Superuser app, it failed. I tried a few different SU apps, none of them are able to gain root access.
WTF?
I thought with an unlocked bootloader all you had to do was update the binaries and have a working SU app?
Am I doing something wrong?
Maybe superuser needs to be updated to work with Kit Kat . I've been reading where TWRP users are having issues getting root also. Hopefully it won't take too long to work it out. I have a dev edition myself and am waiting for everything to get worked out.

I got it to work... just needed to use the right combination of parts haha.
This is for the VZW Dev Edition, I don't know if it will work on other Dev models. I was having issues with the other posted recoveries hanging, rebooting, or not wanting to flash files. Also, I've tried every other SU app as of this post and none of them work but this.
Enjoy. :victory:

Did you have to revert to the stock recovery before flashing 4.4 on your Dev ed? If so, did you just push a stock recovery or just reflash the 4.2.2 factory image?

I used the toolkit to go back to stock, I kept getting install errors.
So I have rooted, TA-back-upped and then bootloader-unlocked my XZ on a .244 generic firmware and would like to install cyanogenmod 10.2 stable or 11.
There's a lot of talk about flashing ROMS from recoveries on this forum. I have read that out of the two available, the (unlocked version) CWM has problems flashing CM, while TWRP does better. Then there is XZ Dual Recovery.
Yet, in the cyanogenmod wiki for the XZ, there is no talk of installing a recovery before flashing the CM zip file, yet somehow CWM is mentioned as a recovery from which to install the zips.
I really wonder how according to the wiki I am supposed to boot into a CWM, when I didn't install it beforehand.
Does this mean that once you flash CM from sd card, it comes with its own recovery, and you don't have to install it separately?
If this is correct, is it more recommended to flash CM from an sd card or from a previously installed recovery?
And is it even possible to flash CM from a recovery I previously installed on stock kernel (I am obviously still on stock kernel). From what I understand, CM comes with its own kernel as it doesn't work on stock kernel. I imagine that a recovery would disappear when I replace a kernel, as the recovery is part of the kernel. But if so, why is there even talk about flashing CM from a recovery?
Lastly, would something like the MEOW kernel be even more suitable for CM?
I'd really appreciate anyone enlightening me on these matters and how to go about doing this flashing of the most standard of all custom ROMs.
Thank you.
You need to extract the boot.img from the CM zip and flash it using fastboot.
This will then allow you to boot into recovery and flash CM.

Thank you, King Vortex. I have managed to successfully flash CM 10.2.
By the way, could I flash MEOW kernel on top of the current setting, as it's CM-compatible, or would I have to re-do CM as well?
You're welcome. You can flash another CM compatible kernel over the top of the stock CM kernel. No need to reflash the rom.

I think your model number is k50a40. Follow this guide for flash TWRP recovery.

I've just found S422_Patched_boot.img (I hope that file is all what I need). Could sb explain me how to do this?? The next move will be gapps/root and finally try to fix IMEI on my yellow but I am stuck...

I don't know flashing patched boot.img is required to flash custom recovery. I flashed custom recovery directly without flashing patched boot image and it working well.
OK I did it. If u have K30-T5 (MarshalRom 6.0) it will works. Instruction below.
1. Copie K50-T5_PATCHED_BOOT_1621_DEV.RAR file to your device
2 Flash TWRP 3.x via SP Flash
3. Enter to the installed Recovery Mode
4. Choose instal that file what I've wrote above
5. Swipe to confirm Flash
6. Reboot system
I want to fix my IMEI now. I'd like to use SN Writer but I don't know which file MD1DB, and APDB should I select on Marshmallow.
