Terrible standby time? Also high Android OS awake time - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

My battery is draining at 6 percent an hour on WiFi and 2 percent an hour on LTE when on standby. I found that Android OS has a high stay awake time (3 hours and 18 minutes). Any one know why?

Did you root or install TWRP?
If yes, you need to flash the deep sleep fix.

LocationManagerService eating battery overnight

Every night i leave my phone with 2G active only: wifi, sync and 3G data is off.
Before upgrade to 4.3 it wopuld use 2 or 3% overnight, in about 8 hours.
After upgrade to 4.3 battery drain is now 8% in 8 hours.
I have installed batter battery stat and I have found out that the cause may be LocationManagerService that in 8 hours has issued partial wakelocks for 15 minutes, with a count of 1,000+ calls for a total of 30% battery drain.

It seems this is a general android problem, also an old one... mmmmmmmmm...
Will do some more google search, but till now in 3+ hours of serach I have found no solution...
Could please someone with 4.3 run the same test?
1. Install better battery stat
2. put phone in flight mode
3. put phone on charge for 5 minutes
4. unplug phone and let it saty for 6 or 8 hours overnight
5. run better battery stat and check the battery drain and rationduring the 6/8 hours and under partial wakelocks report the LocationmanagerService data
Thanks

Get a screenshot of that battery life. I am 100% sure that you can't get 48 hours with 2 hours on scree and to be on 50%...
On stock my average is 15-20 hours with about 2 hours on screen and i go to 10%.
Maybe without internet, but still we never had 96 hours of battery life, you told two days and battery is on 50%.

He charged phone on start, after some time - probably after use. And if he did not use internet all the time it is possible to get that battery life.
And you discharge phone to almost 0%, charge it 100% and repeat process 2-3 times. You will get better battery time.

The first graph seems ok in terms of battery drain, but still we need to see the expanded one, the one when you click the first graph containing info about the screen, the wifi, signal, etc.
Try to use Gsam or BBS to see the wakelocks or apps than drain most of the battery.
If everything seems normal, then maybe it is a defective unit; try to ask for a change.
:good:

There are people that can get more than 10 hours SOT, so it's not crap, something must be draining your battery and you need to find what is it. Obviously if you are heavy user or play games, expect one day of use at most.
I have never and will never get 48hrs out of my phone. If you use you phone with extreme lite use then its possible. But I bought this phone to use. With my usage I get around 18hrs with 5 to 6 hrs of screen on time. For me this is prefect. And if I do need some extra time the turbo charger works great.

I'm really not though. I was at work all day, no game playing. I surfed on Chrome for maybe 45 minutes max during the duration of the day.
Even right now. I haven't been on my phone at all. I'm at 81% on 6 hours and 57 minutes of use.
Cell standby 18%
Screen 17%
Wifi 10% (no wifi here)
Google services 9%
Is this a lemon? Should I say I want another one?

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the LG Nexus 5X's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Excellent with doze.
I left the phone on (idle) when I go to sleep at night.
After 7-8 hours overnight, the battery dropped by about 4-5%
that's about 1% drain per 1.5-2 hours.
Mine was 4-5% overnight then I turned off background wifi scanning and its now 2-3%
Thanks to unmodified doze in Android N standby time is pretty great
With 4G data on, standby drain is pretty high for me
0-1 % over night. Mostly 0%
On 2G losing 0,2 to 0,6 % per hour.
With wifi always ON and active gmail, hangout and facebook messenger Lite (these app are selected not to use battery optimisation) + ambient display + Naptime (to activate Doze immediately) I have around 1,2%/h over night
(ABCrom + flash kernel + Drunksauce profile)
.2-.3 % per hour
Pure Nexus, Flash kernel, Drunksauce
I don't understand why some are proud to lose 5% during night, before with set cpu, powernap and amplify and greenify my phone lose 0% during night...
I don't test these apps because I root it on Android 7 (Xposed is not available yet).
If someone could do a "tutorial" or tweaks to do that it would be awesome.
Link for Android 6 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884
5x with Pure Nexus ROM, Jolla Kernel, Greenify (root) with Aggressive Doze, and I get about 5-6% drain over the night.
I'm high because DT2W, and I have really crappy signal at my house.
This phone can lose 15-18% of charge overnight. Pretty shameful. I have been observing something similar with other Android devices recently.

Don't use Greenify but I'm on different ROM and kernel. Been on Dirty Unicorns with Franco kernel. Standby drain is comparable if not better but active drain has improved.

Yes you are right
3 percent is almost negligible
10hrs standby with WiFi on, 4% (went from 97 to 93.) Pretty good I'd say.
3% as well no wifi
My device is draining battery little faster when using normally and on standby it is draining nearly 2% per minute while on 3g+ mode . Is it normal.. ?

Sorry guys .. It was a typo.. I meant hour. When I leave mobile internet on during standby I get 2% drain per hour when switched off drain is 1% per 2 hours. Location is off whole time.
So a H+ network drain battery faster compared to a WiFi ?

5% without wifi and data...I hope Oreo fix this...
how about when u guys use it until the end of the day while the phone screen is constantly turned on and off? 6h+ seems to be the average for sot but I haven't seen anyone post their idle times yet except for when it's during an overnight sleep
My friend has a 3t and his standby his pretty bad. He is on Oreo though....Does anyone else get a huge battery drain on their 5t?
My battery is draining as quick in standby mode as it is when I'm using it! I'm losing about 3.5% /hr over night. That is really my only complaint.
I'm leaving everything on. WiFi/data/ location/ Bluetooth.. shouldn't have to switch it off tbh.

If you live in an area that doesn't receive particularly great cell service, leave data and location off on your 5T. When your phone has to constantly search for a good cellular connection, it will eat power like a New Yorker eats a hamburger at a baseball game. And if a sub-optimal cellular connection in your area is the case, then 3% per hour isn't half bad...my Droid Turbo 2 would drain 11% in the same timeframe.
If this isn't the issue, then check the power consumption of the individual apps you have on your phone to filter out problem apps that may be draining your battery rapidly. If neither of these methods work, you may have to resort to factory resetting your phone, or RMAing if nothing fixes the issue.
So, I've narrowed it down to being a WiFi related issue. Something is running when WiFi is on which is preventing the phone from going into deep sleep properly (if at all).
When I switch WiFi off overnight, and leave everything else on (data/BT/NFC) then my drain goes from 3-4% / HR to around 3-4 % in 8 hours.
Can't figure out beyond that yet though.
