Hello there!
First of all, sorry for my bad english :/
Well i have the Kindle Fire HD 7. Tate Version.
So i had the Customrom Knology. After a year or so i developed some bugs, so i wanted to set it new etc.
Well i accidently erased the whole bootloader etc. :/
I have a factory cable. Via the Laptop of my Girlfriend i can connect the Kindle with factory cable in fastboot.
Then i ran the KFHD_SRTv1.3.5
Also SR-Tool.
After use Function 1 or 2.
Restore factory rooted etx.
I cant Start the kindle and its still in bootloop. Means Logo repeat and repeat Blinking.
Well when i try to erase the cache and userdata it takes LOOONG time for the userdata. i let it for hours but no result.
Well on PC itselfs i can Use the adb commands in the CMD window. But its waiting for Device. Both PC and Laptop have Windows 7 64 Bit
Pls help me :/

Its gonna be hard to do anything if your PC doesn't recognize it or if your tablet doesn't respond to anything. Sounds to me like you're gonna have to get the stock firmware back on the device and start over with getting the second bootloader installed.

Well as i said with the laptop i can connect... how do i Install the Stockrom?
If you have a stock firmware .img then you should be able to flash it through fastboot.

Its been a while since I've messed with a kindle so I'm not sure what firmware you need. That is decided by which model/version of kindle you have. I have the very first kindle, its been almost two years since I did any custom stuff to it and I've gone through many other devices since then. I wish I could help with an exact answer, I was only trying to get you headed in the right direction. Find your firmware based on which kindle you have.
Well i know which my kindle is. The CMD Command said, that the firmware is on the kindle. and then still bootloop

OK, so your firmware is still there and still shows but your bootloader is wiped out? OK, same answer, reflash your stock firmware to see if it will repair the bootloader and see if it will boot, if you've already tried flashing and it did nothing to restore your bootloader then I'm not sure what you can do about that, I don't understand the stock kindle stuff as well as I do other android devices, its kind of in its own class of android because its more android-ish than it is actual full on android so I don't know its elements are quite different.
Well thankl you then. Maybe anyone can help instead of u :/

As I said, I wasn't trying to give you a definite answer, I was just trying to get you in the right direction. It IS the only response you've gotten so I wouldn't be so snide if I were you, I could have not answered and you would still be waiting for an answer from someone even now. I've told you what you can do to get straight, from what I've experienced the only thing you can do from the point that you're at is do some extensive searching on Google to find the build number of the stock firmware your device shipped with based on which version of kindle that you have and install it through fastboot, I know of nothing else that will restore a device from the state yours is in. If it doesn't work then the device is probably dead and useless.
Sorry pal, i doesnt want to be rude or snyde.. Im rly grateful to you.
as i said my english is bad.. and i had a long day... Sorry for being inpolite.

No problem, I was only trying to help in the capacity that I could. Have you taken what I've told you and asked around in other threads how to go about using it to get your kindle fixed?
Have you tried getting someone with the same device as yours that still has the stock firmware like yours to do a ROM dump in terminal emulator to create an .img for you then upload it so you can download it then try pushing it to your device through terminal on PC? It may work for you. Can you even boot to recovery? I expect not since you killed your bootloader. Have you tried flashing recovery through fastboot then trying to boot to recovery? I'm not sure that will work either but its worth trying.

My milestone(Telus; BL 90.74) is pretty much bricked. I tried to do this, but like with everything else I do modding wise I failed horribly. It got to the point to where whenever I tried turning on my phone, it would stay frozen on the M logo. I've wasted my entire day searching from blogs to forums to videos trying to fix this but nothing worked. And now my phone won't even turn on unless I access the bootloader menu.
I know I have to reflash the sbf file, but the thing is my computer no longer detects my phone since the disaster. I'm really frustrated and stressed because of this. I thought doing a factory reset would do something but now all of my data on the phone is gone for nothing.
Can anyone please help? I know there's like 7 threads on this, but none of them help even if I follow the instructions step by step.

I could try that by putting an official update.zip so the boot loader will accept. Problem is there isn't any updates further to what I have and froyo womn't come anytime soon unless you were referring to something else.

Let me try this. I'm going to bed for now, Ill post results tomorrow.
You can try installing your usb drivers again and try.Since you did not get any error in the bootloader mode, it could be problems with your usb drivers.
Uninstall the usb drivers and reinstall them again. Then try.
BTW, which version of rsdlite are you using?
Helo
Maybe tray this:
- Download an RSD Lite (I use 4.7)
- Download an GOT firmware from: and-developers.com / sbf:milestone (bottom of site)
- Set the phone to bootloader mode
- Start RSD Lite with Administrator permissions
- Connect the phone
- Select the downloaded sbf file
- When U see phone connected click Start
Sorry for my english

Ok, I did everything you said and flashed it with A853_Telus_Firmware_SHOLS_U2_03.10.0__USASHLSMR2TLSB1B2B505F.0R_1FF.sbf. But now it still gets stuck at the moto sign
Edit: I think I might have a solution as I flashed the phone with vulnerable_recovery_only_RAMDLD90_78.sbf which will let me use an update.zip. The only problem is I can't access my memory card and I don't have anything that could at home.
Edit: Ok, I fixed my phone and now it has 2.2.1. Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

That's why you need the factory cable; It's used to boot the Kindle directly into FastBoot mode. From my understanding, the only way a factory cable would fail is if the bootloader is damaged.

I will try to answer to the best of my ability (as I am still a noob with the Kindle HD). If anyone more knowledgeable is reading, you're input would be much appreciated
- Using the factory cable: I think you need to plug in the cable to the Kindle HD (powered off). Then plug in the other end to the computer, and it should power on to FastBoot mode. As far as what to do in FastBoot mode and what commands to use, you will probably have to ask someone more knowledgeable than me.
- Bootloader: When people say 'the bootloader is damaged' they are most likely referring to the fact that the device cannot accept FastBoot commands. When you turn on the Kindle, the bootloader decides whether to turn on the kindle in normal mode or fastboot mode. So if you can't get into fastboot mode, then the bootloader is not functioning properly for some reason.
As far as how you would damage the bootloader? Well... Iike I said before I'm a noob with the Kindle so I can't really answer this. From what I've read, the most common mistake is that people have flashed something onto the Kindle Fire HD 7 that was meant for another version of the device.
I suggest you to try working with one of the senior members/developers to troubleshoot and fix your problem.

thanks for all your help its been great ill let you know if the fast-boot lead works unfortunately the stock charging/data lead did not work because it does not supply power to 4th pin like the fastboot leads do to enter fastboot. im normally a wiz with android but the kinle fire hd 7 is one of the worst tabs i have ever owned. im not sure if you are familiar with the AOSP but part of the rules and agreements manufacturers make with Google if they choose to use android is that the system is open source and the ability for advanced super users to modify and customize android how they want it not how the device manufacturer puts it e.g. apple ios (closed source) the manufacturer is allowed to add a boot-loader and stock recovery to prevent accidental damages like wiping partitions etc.... and due to people complaining a lot of manufacturers have not included a boot-loaded unlock tool like htc dev web site but unfortunately you have got amazon...who have locked the boot-loader, disabled button combination and installed a very minimal recovery with just factory reset and reboot, this is actually against the AOSP and i do not know why Google have not done something about this its very frustrating for all of us we have to make our own system recovery tools because amazon do not include one and other such features like 2ndinit boot-loader < (thanks for that) they have actually refereed to the device os as kindle os when its an android 4.0.1 SDK build they make me so angry now i have literally got a £159 brick! i understand its an ebook but they agreed to install android as the default os so they should do it properly haha!!
but im sure in the end google will do something about it an sue them for millions well fingers crossed haha
Hello,
I know there are a ton of "stuck in fastboot" threads but I've spent hours going through them and none of them seem to be what's happening to me. Or maybe all of them combined would... anyway, I would greatly appreciate some help as I'm at my witt's end. I've even somehow managed to screw up a dual boot of Ubuntu on my windows machine, but that's something I'll fix for myself later
Anyway, here's all the info I can think of and what I have done so far.
A month or two I rooted my phone. I never flashed a custom rom or anything. I altered a couple settings but that's it. My phone has worked perfectly this entire time.
Yesterday there was an OTA. I didn't even intend to accept it, I just got the notification and then my phone shut off and went to fastboot. That's pretty much where I've been ever since.
Rebooting gets me to fastboot. Attempting recovery mode gets me to the hard reset screen but not recovery. Trying to hard reset just goes back to fastboot. Download mode does not come up.
Windows sees my phone but disables it because of an error. Attempting to reinstall drivers does nothing. Ubuntu doesn't acknowledge that the phone is there under the regular terminal. If I run the fastboot tool it wont list it but it will respond to a couple commands. I can reboot... into fastboot. Anything else gets the "waiting for device" notification. My device just says "processing commands" but nothing happens.
So that's where I'm at right now. That's the condensed version of the last 18 hours but I think it contains most of the relavent information. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. I'm lucky to have this phone and I would be very upset if I lost it.
Thank you.

No problem. I've got my phone shut off to save battery because I'm under the impression that it won't charge in fastboot and I didn't figure repeating that would be good for it. I'm still trying to restore Windows. I'm not used to being limited to a single computer but without my phone and my desktop currently in another state I'm a bit frustrated.
Anyway, I appreciate the help and will keep trying. I'll update if anything happens.

That's what I'm working on now, I screwed up the dual boot and can't get back into windows. Okay. I'm just going to grab my brother's laptop and use it so I can get this done. I can fix my computer later.
I'm going to start at the beginning of the tutorial since it'll be on a different computer. We'll see how it goes.
Edit: Okay, back to windows and this is what I have going on. I've installed the drivers for my phone, set up the sdk and gone into cmd but even with the drivers Windows is telling me that it has disabled my phone because it is malfunctioning (error code 43). Therefore no matter what I do it will not acknowledge the phone or communicate with it. If I try doing anything it just hangs on "waiting for device".
FIXED!
WOOHOO!!
It's working again! I'm not sure exactly how I did it but I rebooted my computer and suddenly the phone said "processing commands" so even though it still wasn't listed as a device I ran boot.img just to see what happened and it's back up and running just like nothing ever happened.
Thank you so much!

Complete newb here, i haven't done any development work or even tried rooting or flashing my phone. Over the last couple of days, apps have started crashing as soon as i open them, and then yesterday i rebooted the device and it won't go past the Motorola logo. I've searched through a few threads and there isn't a simple enough answer or procedure to follow to get this working. Also most similar issues have USB debugging on etc, whereas i have no developer settings on at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated
You didn't search enough for an answer i see. But okey for the lazy i will help you, no offense
Can u access (AP)fastboot and can u boot into recovery from fastboot? Have a look at the link in my signature on how to get in fastboot and then in recovery.

Literally my first post mate, how about you cut me some slack. I spent about 4/5 hours searching last night and even took the phone apart. If there is an answer please point me in the direction of it. There are countless threads where the issue is the user has loaded their own ROM or flashed the device already or something like that, which caused the system files to become corrupted. But as i mentioned i have done nothing to the device except for a data wipe a few months back, and there doesn't seem to be any threads where this just happened out of nowhere. I have booted into fastboot, recovery and done the partition cache & data wipe and rebooted, that was my first step.

Also if I knew u have tried to wipe the cache and data I would give u a totally different answer. But u had not mentioned anything about what u had done to try to fix it.
For now, if even a data/factory reset from recovery didn't work I suggest u need to try to reflash the whole stock firmware. See in my signature the link to an index thread about the phone. U can find there the ways to reflash to your stock firmware and hopefully fix your issue.
If u need some more help to flash stock firmware, don't hesitate to ask here.

As long as u read everything carefully u will be good to go. Just one reminder, use the latest stock firmware JB(or u can get more problems). And rsd-lite 6.1.x

So, this is all brand new to me. I'm using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974568
The firmware is from here - http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=13
- I chose the 4.1.2 UK Retail as i purchased the phone through Virgin Mobile (UK)
Drivers and RSD 6.1.6 are now installed so will try now
Is everything right so far?
Seems to have worked, but it seems a bit different and some apps like hangouts are unavailable now, even though i had them before. The firmware i chose was UK Retail, however i am not 100% that this is the one to use as i bought it through Virgin Mobile (UK).
Hangouts should work just fine. Strange.
But nice that all works fine now

Hi, I saw above post and happy to read that your problem is solved so I writting with my problem on your post, just getting hope that mine will work too.
Actually I have also ''NIL'' knowledge about all this software/ quote language etc
My issue is; my Moto Razr i is just stuck on '' Android is upgrading '' than shows ''Starting Apps'' thn nothing happen n same things repeats ... couple of hours back it was saying ''finishing boot'' also but now it is just giving this error '' Android is upgrading '' than shows ''Starting Apps'' thn nothing happen n same things repeats
Please I want to request if you are about to guide anything in tough language please consider that I am completely unknown to all the setups and stuff... just if you can help sharing step by step process and also post specific link/software to download (if needed) and how to download and other details in simple guidance plz plz plz.
One more point I tried to chat with Motorola chat service and they suggested me to power off it first but i m pressing vol- and vol + and power button but phone is quickly restarting on its own... i m even unable to go on boot as they suggested me to do so.
Thanks a lot to ''my upcoming angel'' in advance

Im having the same issue described on this thread.
My phone doesnt start, it stays at the logo screen. I've tried to recover, factory reset and nothing worked. I have access to the (AP)fastboot screen.
Later then i saw this thread, i've did everything as described at your tutorial, tried all the versions of the RSD Lite (6.1.4, 6.1.5, 6.1.6), it cant detect my phone.
I've tried in two different PCs, tons of different USB ports, running as administrator, compatibility mode...the PC tells me that the USB is connected, but the RSD Lite doesnt recognise it.
I've tried using these two options of motorola drivers:
- motohelper_2.1.40_driver_5.5.0.exe (that i found at your post)
- MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe (found another similar tutorial on the internet)
Am i missing something?
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks!

did you boot first into Fastboot-mode before you connect to pc?
1. Install Driver + RSD Lite
2. Boot into fastboot + connect USB
3. Start RSD Lite

Yep. Thats exactly what i did.
I tried only using Windows 8.1. Is it compatible?
I will test on a win7 PC later.
UPDATE:
Worked RSD Lite on Win7, it found my phone. I belive RSD Lite doesnt work on Win 8.1 (at least on my PC and notebook).
I believe my firmware version is this one:
Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.982.50.29002.XT890.Vivo.en.BR Vivo Brasil 537.6 MiB
Can i use the Retail version without problems? (this one: Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.982.50.29.XT890.Brasil.en.BR Retail Brasil 532.8 MiB)
Thanks!
Finally got my phone working again!
I got it running RSD Lite 6.1.6 on Win 7 and used the same Firmware version that i had (in my case: Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.982.50.29002.XT890.Vivo.en.BR Vivo Brasil 537.6 MiB), not the Retail one.
Also used the MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe that i got from Motorola website.
My phone now is up and running like charm, no apps or configs lost, everything seems perfect (and also a little bit faster). Not sure what caused my issue, did nothing but normal use.
I hope everyone with the same problem can find this easy solution and follow the right steps (and maybe avoid Win8 to do the process).
Thank you guys for all the information :good:!
Good it is solved. It can happen to anyone. Just a small coruption or miss configuration can take out the android system. Luckily this almost never happens and u were just unfortunate.

Ok I need some help. As of right now my tab is dead, the only thing it does when powered on is loads to the Asus splash screen and that's all. I can not get it into Fastboot mode at all and Adb cant find it either. I have already tried Sp Flashtools to no avail. I have all the Vcom drivers installed, every where I searched the one driver that people talked about was the mtk6585 driver ( I think that's what it is ) , the one for me that popped up and went away really fast was a driver called CLOVERVIEW. So needless to say I cant get SP Flash tools to work, and without fastboot mode im really stuck. Ever since I first came across this site a few years back I have rooted, and put custom roms on countless devices, I would call myself an experienced flasher. Well this tab has me feeling like a real noob, I can not figure it out. So if someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you XDA world.

I just got myself into the same situation. If you can get to a point where CLOVERVIEW comes up, that can be fixed (I actually just added a howto to the general section). However, I don't know how to get out of the stuck splash screen, since it's an awkward medium between download and fastboot. I'm not even sure what I did to cause this; I had just flashed boot.img and splashscreen.img and issued a fastboot reboot-bootloader.
The device does indeed pop up in download mode for about a second while booting; doesn't seem long enough for a flash. I would really like to find out if there is any way to force this device to boot into download mode.
