As you can see there is heavy drain. I think it may be school WiFi sometimes it drains really heavily sometimes not. Any fixes?

In fact it was in airplane mode almost the entire time!

Didn't screenshot it, but could remember Android System and OS Kernel were top two, followed by Google Services or Google Play Services. The rest were completely normal

Android system and android OS
Your phone's wifi bluetooth NFC must always be on. Since the os is managing so much hardware, it attributes the battery used for this in system and os.
Google play services
This always drains battery by keeping mobile radio on. Google has not yet fixed this. Only connecting to wifi seems to solve this.
These issues have plagued many users running 5.0 on their phones.

Bluetooth is never on, NFC is, so I should turn it off?
The battery drain even more heavily on the school WiFi than on mobile radio, which I suspect could be related to blocking Facebook and YouTube and the apps constantly trying to connect because on home WiFi the battery's absolutely fantastic..
Should I expect 5.1 to fix the issue? Because it sucks that I got 5.0 out of the box, if I'd known that 5.0 had so many issues and had the choice, probably wouldn't have upgraded.

There you go.. turn off NFC if u dont use it. And remove the facebook app as it is the heaviest battery consuming app. Also youtube won't cause any such problems. Try to turn off all the hardware you dont use like turning to 3G/2G when connected to wifi instead of 4G.
Also you may consider managing the backup features manually like settings backup and reset, Google photos auto backup.
Yes KitKat was much better at all this. But lollipop aint that bad if you dont mind managing some settings manually. I dont know if 5.1 will fix all this as i dont have it yet. Just hope it would.

I used to get such heavy battery drain on my phones until i removed the fb app. Not all devices were connected to internet all the time. Since i removed it, the standby times have been great! You will miss notifications though by switching to FB in browser. You may try other fb apps like tinfoil and friendcaster if you trust those.
Hope this helps.

I've removed it and battery has definitely improved, still have 81% at noon. Replaced it with installing an apk for FB Lite, which seems to be a lot less intensive on resources.

That's great! FB lite is good to get notifications n stuff. I just wait until we get the notifications in chrome browser working. Then all such fb apps will be useless. Hope now you get better battery life. Try Gsam battery monitor pro version so u can keep a close watch!

EDIT: Day two. Was on LTE for a while today so it was a bit worse, but still long enough for me.

Interesting bug has been reported. And I think everyone is experiencing it:

Yep, sucks that I never had a chance to deny the lollipop upgrade as the X I bought shipped with it out of the box. Oh well.

I had issues with NFC & Wi-fi Direct both of them are working well now and the battery and overall performance just got better
Sent from my HTC Butterfly s using xda app-developers app
yeah I really think that it does provide an improved battery efficiency but I don't know about the performance aspect .
Does wp_mod (/system write protection mod) work on stock 4.3?
Has anyone tried it yet?
From what I've noticed, yes, it does improve performance and battery life significantly. Other bonus features I appreciate are support for lockscreen widgets and ability to customize quick settings.
I did experience a couple of unpleasant things after the update, though.
I use the last.fm app and the stock music player. After the upgrade, each time I switched to a home screen containing a music player widget, I got a message about the last.fm app crashing. This appears to have been solved by a reboot, it does not happen right now.
After 20 days of uptime, something appears to have started on the phone which both made the lockscreen extremely laggy and it also drained power like mad. Even charging from a USB port took about twice as long as it usually does. Again, a reboot seems to have fixed this, but I'm curious how it will perform after a month of uptime – I'll report back here unless I forget.

I get those errors too man. I too used last.fm for scrobbling, but it always crashes (force closes) the moment a song starts, which is kinda sad And yeah I experience the second problem too not frequently though. Also sometimes after my phone is charged to 100% it drains immediately to 92-93% the moment I plug it out. Have to keep it 20 minutes or a little bit more to prevent this happening

I found out that the last.fm app doesn't have access to the com.htc.music/MediaPlaybackService intent – looks like the update restricted access to that interface or something. Maybe reinstalling the last.fm app would help, maybe last.fm needs to update it.
Also, looks like the issue affects other HTC phones with 4.3/5.5: http://www.last.fm/group/Last.fm+Android/forum/114391/_/2218309
By the way, I only use the last.fm app to see peoples' details in my contacts. For scrobbling, I've been using the simple last.fm scrobbler app since about forever, because I find it much more reliable at scrobbling than the official last.fm app. Also, it supports more players.

Yeah, the battery indicator seems to jump to 100% immediately after reaching 90%. Leaving it plugged in for a bit longer seems to work for me too. AFAIK, this is a common issue with a lot of Android kernels across various devices…

Yeah I know I've seen some HTC users complain on Google Play too (comments section) guess the problem's with HTC Sense? My cousin's Nexus 4 never had problems like these with last.fm :/

The update has been excellent so far. After some time searching through the settings, I found out that there is a move apps to sd function. That's a welcome addition.

Well, stock Android has the com.android.music app for music playback; HTC Sense has its own player, com.htc.music. AFAIK, they come with compatible interfaces, the last.fm app just doesn't get access to the Sense player while it does get access to the stock one.

Also how is USB connection? Mine is such a mess after the update partly cuz I'm using Windows XP =/
For the most part only thing i dislike about 4.3 w sense 5.5 is the keyboard auto correct, if u type something in English letters but phonetically for anotger language or even say if you type something wrong and you hit space it will replace it with what it thinks you meant, if you hit backspace nothing happens where as before with all previous htc keyboards if you type something wrong and auto correct fixes it n you hit backspace it reverts back to what you originally typed and hitting space from there will save it to your dictionary and i loved that but now its gone. I tried putting back the keyboard apk from 4.2.2 and setting permission but no luck.

Hmm, actually, the behavior you described didn't work for me even on 4.2.2, i.e. even before the update, hitting backspace after an autocorrect didn't undo its effects for me. I do remember though, that I really liked this feature on 2.x versions of Android with the then-current versions of Sense and I'm missing it as well…
By the way, speaking of the keyboard, does anyone else experience an issue where certain words that are obviously retained as part of my personal dictionary (like certain Slovak words without accents) that don't show up in the list of words when I choose to edit the dictionary? Case in point: some time ago I used to write SMS messages in Slovak without diacritics and a lot of words got into my dict that way. I've switched to diacritics-enabled messages since, because why not and because a lot of words with diacritics are already part of the built-in dictionary. However, I can't completely remove all the words without accents from my personal dictionary because they just don't appear in the list.

As you can see half of the screen shows that it's black. I think the keyboard has something to do with it. Also, the keyboard feels more unresponsive now.

[Q] Back button not working when Ram is low (on stock ROM)

Hey i m kinda new here. I searched as much as i could for my issue but didnt find a proper thread about it so please bear with me ^_^'
I have this really annoying issue with my Xperia SP (C5302) where my back button (next to the home button) doesnt respond at all at times especially when i m gaming or when ram is low and i m using apps such as Opera or FB. Using android 4.3 Updated to 12.1.a.1.201. I bought the phone recently it already had an older version of the 4.3 jellybean. This really feels like a ram management issue. The thing is when i press it there is animation and vibration but it doesnt do the work(which is going back). The home button works fine though.. Really weird dont know what to do.... Any help is appreciated

This is a weird case. I have never encounterd a non working back button due to low ram. Sometimes it gets "stuck" but that fixes by itself pretty quick.. Happens with facebook most of the time tho..

I m not the only one... it is happening to other people but it is very rare. There are posts about it on Xperia care (talk.sonymobile.com) I cant post the links cause um a newbie here -_-
In any case should i do a factory reset? or is there any repairing options that i could try out? i really need this fixed.
Yes, it happened to me when free ram goes very low e.g. Asphalt8; you can't exit with back button, had to press home.
Could be related to poor ram management (in our stock ROMs). Maybe some "service" is shutting down which is related to back button function.. idk. If you're getting this with Opera/FB means, quite poor ram management I think.. Maybe lot of bloatware is being run in the background eating ram?
Suggest:
*Just monitor the amount of free ram with CoolTool app (at Google play), to see whether it goes very low when it happens. Cooltool itself may shutdown due to low ram..
*Try Greenify app to hibernate apps, free more ram.
*See whether anything could be done to keep more free ram, from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751559
Edit: saw your app list. I would ditch half of the list if rooted . Chrome and FB are the first to go

Having another issue. This happened first today. I downloaded the game vector. The graphics were set to high on default and I played the game for 10 or so minutes. It worked fine. But when I exited my phone froze up. A black screen and than phone Rebooted. Man this is crazy! I'm worried if my phones damaged or not. Please can you say the reason for devices rebooting? The game didn't crash to home screen my device Rebooted while exiting. Is it a ram issue? Is it becuz it's set to the highest setting?

yaa...me to experienced sometime in stock ROM.
I'm having a similar problem like op, but in my case after some time, my phone automatically closes the apps and the back button stops working aaannndd it gets really slow, like when I press home button, it goes to home but it gets like 2~3s to show the apps on the screen and stuff like that. Then I havet to reboot my phone to work normally again. It seems to me that is a problem with the latest update and root, because I've already unninstalled everything, did factory reset and still would get this problem.

Battery life is subjective to the way you use your device.
Cellular signal strength, wakelocks, refresh interval, what apps you have installed are all different factors that play a role into your daily battery. Just because I myself or somebody else has good battery life or bad battery life doesn't mean you will have the same results.
Any ROM gives good battery life as long as you have your phone set up in a way that it properly deep sleeps. I made the ROM in a way that it stays minimal without all the unnecessary features (in my opinion) and gives you Franco Kernel out of the box which already provides good battery life.
Data not working on Sprint here, and the Verizon build.prop fix didn't do much, but ROM looks basically perfect otherwise.... can't wait until I can actually use it!

I don't personally use sprint so I wasn't able to test this but I'll look into it sometime tomorrow as I'm just heading to bed.
I did include the sprint and verizon apn, the verizon data build prop being ro.telephony.get_imsi_from_sim=true correct?
Is there any cellular data at all? 4g 3g edge regular phone call signal?

I don't personally use sprint so I wasn't able to test this but I'll look into it sometime tomorrow as I'm just heading to bed.
I did include the sprint and verizon apn, the verizon data build prop being ro.telephony.get_imsi_from_sim=true correct?
Is there any cellular data at all? 4g 3g edge regular phone call signal?

It seems the Sprint DM is not installed. I'm guessing that's why we have this issue? Under Carrier Settings you get a force close when trying to open.
I can send and receive SMS and a call. No MMS or other data available. I show as connected to LTE,ehrpd, 1x etc under Signal Check Lite. But no connection when trying to run a speed test etc. Great ROM, hopefully this is an easy fix. Thanks!

You can't get Mms because the stock Mms.apk is not included with this ROM. I didn't include it because people rarely ever use it anyways and can just get one from their GApps (or on Play Store). Do other ROMs you've previously used that had cellular data have SprintDM?
A log cat of Carrier Settings would help as well. So basically, you can receive text/voice calls but anything related to cell data doesn't work? Are you happening to be nationally roaming?

I can send/receive MMS when I switch on WiFi with textra. If WiFi is off, the MMS just sits there.
I've only used rooted stock and CleanROM which is stock based. Worked fine, as Sprint DM is included, not sure that's really the issue. I just wondered.
I have roaming turned on. But showed I was connected to Sprint towers. I'll mess with it a bit tomorrow if I can. Thank you.

Try
Sprint data dialer reset code:
*#*#72786#*#*
Select reset then OK to confirm
No data is lost.
Most recent PRL version as of 1/7/15:

or go into dialer -> *#*#4636#*#* -> phone info -> select preferred network type.. try setting it to CDMA/LTE.
See if any of those help. If not then it could be SprintDM.apk, see if you can revert back to that ROM and then try taking that apk and putting it into /priv-app/ and then reboot. See if something shows up afterwards.
If so, upload the apk and I'll turn it into a flashable zip that you can sideload and it should work on any ROM.
I've checked through everything and I don't see any errors on my part. I have the included parts that other ROMs have included, sprintfix.zip is simply updating the APN which the ROM's APN already includes sprint.

Might be a problem with the way you're installing it. The easiest way is to install universal init.d app and then open it and then press 01VomerTweaks and top right press Play.
Assuming you have dual or quad in the right folder then it should load all the settings.

I have downloaded the app selected 01VomerTweaks and press play but when I use the app CPU adjuster to verify the settings the CPU max is not underclocked. I have the dual in the folder. Screenshot attached.

Seeing that the app has not been updated for Lollipop and was last updated on February 24, 2014. Try another app such as Trickster to see if it still says.
Use universal init.d to apply vomertweaks.
So I just flashed to chroma and love it! Except the android keyboard won't work, and it keeps telling me that it is broken through constant pop-ups lol. I used gapps 5.0.x beta from xda, and I went with the smallest google footprint model which doesn't have google keyboard. So I can't download a keyboard because have one, and I don't have a filebrowser to sideload. How can I sideload an apk keyboard?

There's a new update to VT and a new update to Franco Kernel. Be careful because conservative is better than interactive.
New build coming today.

LG Urbane W150 Battery issue fix, uninstalling stock apps.

So guys I bought this watch and couldnt really compare it to earlier than 5.1.1. The battery issue was terrible...terrible..every swipe I lost 1% of the battery.
I read all the threads about Android Wear caused the issue, and I did all the fixes, but it was all placebo effect and the problem returned quicly.
I installed twrp and supersu and then sideloaded es profiler and uninstalled the system apps through es profiler:
1. lge watchface
2. bioprotection app, cant remember the name
3. lg fitness app.
I uninstalled about 10 apps I guess.
Then I tried disable some services in Android Wear app with the "Disable Service" app and tested witch work and so on. About 10-12 services was disabled
I did a factory reset the phone after all this and noticed the stock apps was not there also es profiler was gone which I sideloaded again.
So after all this the phone is so much more snappy and the battery feels much better i task manager looks good without the lg system apps too.
Im so much happier about 2 hour now and lost 3%(97%)
Edit: 12 hours later than 97%
Battery update now 85%..the battery drain here would be lower if I didnt sleep with the watch but I did to test it, that hasnt changed I lose about 10% in sleeping.
ROOT and twrp GUIDE:
http://www.evilsocket.net/2015/06/15/how-to-root-the-lg-watch-urbane-b285/
I followed that guide and when I came to step 10. It wouldnt boot back into twrp recovery and showed me a "bricked" logo of android....But I rebooted into the bootloader instead and from there I was able to reboot into the twrp recovery.
BATTERY UPDATE 20. SEPTEMBER
The battery last me 3 days now. Im really happy with the results.
I turn the watch off when I sleep though

Hey, nice to hear that someone is doing some "research" with this device, the problem with app by sideload is that after a factory reset they vanish, but it's easy to sideload them again. What we need right now is a new rom... Hehehehe

Well its possible to download and restore the watch back to factory right? I didnt research that
I can tell you that the battery is amazing right now. Used about 20% today. I disabled alot more services from Android wear, specially the google app that only needs the nowfetch service to be enabled or else the android wear won open normally.
so I disabled about 40-50 services. The connection between the phone and watch is lightning fast its so snappy.
One downfall is that I have to resync after installing an app sometimes, but Im fine with that. I also deleted the LG Call app....that is the worst app ever. It drains battery so much.

Sounds interesting. I do need to uninstall crap Im not using though. Also I have figured out how Android Wear services work. The app can easily be replaced by a developer. I only use 7 services out of the 23 which helps prevent battery loss also.
I have improved the battery life from under a half day to 3 days of usage now with maps and everything

If you are not using the sensor underneath the watch that measures you puls follow this, if your are dont uninstall the apps because they will be gone for good:
1.root according to the provided link (noticed what a said about step 10)
2. Sideload es pro filer....you can use apps2wear or any other guide on youtube
3. Through es pro filer you can uninstall system apps, like the crap lg has provided.
I have disabled almost every service in the google app application, only enabled:
GoogleNowRemoteService
CalendarIntentService
Keep in mind we are talking about 43 services that has been disabled. So if you are a person that uses alot of different features of apps you can have issues. I only use minimal and elegant watchface and have also disabled all of the services in this app, about 8 services that keeps sending receiving infos on weather and batteries and etc.
According to what kind of whatcface and launcher you are using on the watch disable services on the androidwear. Keep in mind I can still use maps, kalender and other apps without issue. Only enable following services in androidwear disable the rest.
DeviceConnectionsUpdaterService
DispatchingWearableListenerService
IncomingCallService
LongLivedProcessStateService
NotificationCollectorService
PackageUpdateService
I have only these enabled in android wear services.
I use following apps without issue:
Wear Mini Launcher
Wear Messenger
Task manager
Calender for androidwear
Calculator for android wear
I havent had so many issues. I only resync when I dont see the app on my watch after installing.
All this fixes helped me with batterylife for 3 days and still 17% left
I also power off my watch when I sleep

Ok, if you were able to root and instal the twrp is basically the same:
To test only ( reboot will give you back the stock kernel):
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot bass-skin1980-v1.img
to flash the kernel:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot bass-skin1980-v1.img
fastboot reboot

hi! may i asked which disable service app you're using? cause i've tried this one and it didn't worked on my watch. thanks!
Or... just turn off WiFi...
So you know it drinks battery juice really really bad.
Like the poster above I'm also wondering which app you used to disable services on your watch? I tried installing the disable services app from the play store on mine and it force closes.
Battery life on my watch is terrible, less than 12 hours, have tried factory resets, custom kernels/rom , none have made any difference. Drops around 45% overnight even in airplane mode with theatre mode enabled as well. Would like to try disabling services before consigning it to the bin!
Thanks

hi,
there is a similar thread or 2 about this issue "here somewhere"
(I have posted a reply in one thread)
I also have this issue now or again. (very seldom) mostly with Play store.. back button.
I suspect it could be some software " bug"
Reason ... .( I had this similar
issue with my Note 8.0... same time/peroid when it happens on my Note5.)
So my opinion is its either Play store.. /software.. Rom related.. ? and not hardware etc.
Good luck

Guys any news about this issue ???
Me too' I have the same issue with my n920c. It's random. Please someone tell us if they have a solution for this problem because it seems that there is no solution in samsung side for now.
I have the SM-N920V. I have noticed the same problem, but it only happens when I have rebooted within the previous 5 minutes. Therefore I feel as though it is a software issue because some sort of component had not yet finished loading from the boot. Is this the case you folks have found?

I have reinstalled the messenger app and it returns. Please don't think this is the only fix. I do believe this is a software issue on multiple platforms, just think messenger apk does something to trigger this bug. Again, if it works for you I'm glad it helped, if it did not, I.m sorry and do hope there is a solution soon as this is an annoying problem.

Again, if it works for you I'm glad it helped, if it did not, I.m sorry and do hope there is a solution soon as this is an annoying problem.
