Using name of XDA FORUM is right or wrong? - Off-topic

Hi, I am searching stable kitkat or lollipop for my micromax A 121. Naturally i started with XDA. I could not find any rom. Then i went to Google. Here i found one site which has 5.0.0 lollipop. I opened the site. There was an article giving information about the rom. Intresting thing was it said that all information was from XDA FORUM. I read all the article. Three download links were given. I click first link a new window opened. When i click on download new window opened which asked me to download some app/surve and after finishing that download will automatically start. I gone through this process umpteen times but i failed. The main reason to write is that the site is using XDA name which is wrong. Xda is very respectable site. It just to make you aware of such bad thing.
The site is www.**********.org. please look in to this. The article starts with these words,
"Upgrade/Update Micromax A121 Canvas Elanza 2 to 5.0 Lollipop
I rewrite this tutorial from forum.xda-developers.com"

Your link doesn't work. Plus, everyone knows there is only one true XDA site

XDA doesn't own the name XDA. It comes from a former windows phone made by HTC. That was the phone that started the forum

It's not uncommon for people to write articles and tutorials sourcing XDA. If it didn't work, I wonder if it was not user error....

It seems like they keep changing their download links on us. If this has already been posted, I'm sorry. I searched for the full URL that I posted and didn't find it in the forums.
I logged in, but it's still showing nothing for downloads. It says I have to pick my phone first from the list, but there is no list to pick from.
Edit-Since the Tilt is an AT&T branded devices, there is no way to register it on HTC's Club. Also, whenever I click on either of your links, it redirects me to http://www.htc.com/member/login.aspx , I think they've changed the download links again. If you go to the download section for the Tilt, it still has the ROM from Feb up-

You can register for the E-Club, but since the Tilt is an AT&T branded device you can't register it.
Paste the link into a download manager and it works (I use 'Free Download Manager')
Will try and get it on rapidshare once it has downloaded
Edit - unless of course nobody wants it?? I got all excited thinking it might be the 'new' one Obviously it ain't!

Oh yeah for sure it has it, don't you see the site members rioting out in the forums, trashing all the threads they come across? Trust me , you will know if there are drivers.

[Q] Rooting Optimus Black V20T

Can anyone tell me how to root a P970 V20T? I have searched the forums and can't find a guide for anything beyond the V20S. Either a step by step guide, or a link to a post that is already in place would be great. I have tried following some of the guides for the earlier versions without success.
If it helps the phone was bought network free for use in the UK.

Look into my noob how to. You have to patch the bin/fls files. Assuming you have a kdz file, first extract it, patch with cwm, flash via smartflashtool, in recovery flash superuser.zip, reboot, done

Nice reply - not - and I asked as I am not psychic. Your Gingerbread (v20x) link goes to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480392
You then have a list of instructions which end with 'Dont exactly kno, what it does, but as far as I get it, it roots the device and installs CWM touch. Credits go to poster, if it is successful. '
I would hardly describe this as 'your work', you hadn't even bothered to verify it before stealing it without having the courtesy of naming the original poster, so perhaps you should also take care about who you label lazy.
Another point is that there are 2 options on the list, namely the link above and the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456274
The first points to v20x and the second points to v20* which to me would essentially be the same thing, hence asking which I should follow. That is being sensible - shame someone who happily takes credit for other peoples work is so shallow as to be unaware of how poorly they have laid out the links they have ripped off.

If you think, you can write a better, nicer, more complete one, I surely wont be the one person, that stoos you from doing so. I know how many hours I ve spent on writting it. The first post yes, but not all 51 pages. I mentioned the alternative download link, as the one attached in the thread didn't work for me and the main site contains an updated version
It's done what I needed it for (allowed me to delete bloatware and freeze OS updates), so I am happy. I only mentioned my success, plus posted proof as others in this thread hadn't had success and thought it may help others.

Yeah i perfectly understood that. The software I downloaded directly from their site was in English (as you can see from the image) and that's the only bit of software I needed to gain root and do what I needed to do. Yes there is another app installed as well that is in Chinese, but as that is only for conserving battery power, I didn't use it anyway.

I see we're going to go round in circles with this, so I'll leave it there.
I think it is best. I'm happy with the result I got and was just advising others who were unsuccessful that there was another option, as the one linked in that thread didn't work on my Tab S, but the different version on their site did. I didn't expect a whole discussion as to whether or not I could understand the English language or basic instructions.
ROOTING FAILED
I tried the android and the pc version on my T800 10.5" running kitkat v4.4.2 never flashed or rooted before, the pc version detected my T800, but the rooting failed, the same as the android version.
So it was a big waste of time for me.

Kingroot relies on cloud to find root solution. Giving up right away means connection is not properly established. Make sure your WiFi is on, and not restricted(e.g. company network), then try again.

If you try to many times it blocks any more tries with that version. Whatever version you're using try another version. If it's 4.1 use v4 then try 4.1 again if that doesn't work.

I agree. I read that and it has way too many typos, misleadingly cites a "forum" thread from XDA, with NO LINK to said thread, and like phonetec said, many ROMs have stayed well below 300MB in ZIP form. I've NEVER seen a flashable ROM chopped like that (not to say it couldn't be done), but that's my 2 cents.

In a text form, most that don't know will take "can" and "will" as the same thing. Hence, why I said "false hope"... I learned that only YOU know what YOUR taking about. Trying to get others to understand in a forum is a whole different ball game. I'm not getting bent out of shape, but to hint to someone, that you "can" fix your phone if you look at a particular section; is just wrong. Especially, when it's not a fix present.
