Speculation
I would think not. My guess is that it will check to see if you are running 22.21.11 and if so you will get the update. If not, I do not believe it will offer you the update.
The OTA is specific for version A to version B. If you are not at version A, they won't deploy it.
The answer is no. You are not a beta tester for the soak. So id you install it, you will not get the update. You will have to downgrade back to 5.0. Then upgrade to the official 5.1 when it is released.

Unlock your bootloader and flash the factory image. Instructions can be found in several different threads here.
What's the question

And I would not take the 5.1 OTA after downgrading to 5.0 unless the instructions for the soak testers said to do that.
Someone hard bricked after flashing the 5.1 OTA, then downgrading to 4.4.4 then taking the 5.0 OTA. I realize the 5.1 OTA is not the 5.0 OTA but unless the Motorola instructions for the soak testers say to downgrade to 5.0 then take the 5.1 OTA, I would manually downgrade only system.img, boot.img. NON-HOLOS.bin, fsg.mbn and recovery.img to 5.0 then use Motorola Device Manager to upgrade to 5.1.

Hi, I already have te brazilian 5.1 OTA installed on my xt1097 but in my country they released 5.1 few days ago. I wonder if I could have my country softwt but the only roblem is that I have to downgrade to 4.4.4 and the directly install the OTA to 5.1 because they jumped directly to 5.1 in Argentina.
I want to know if there is any risk of hardbrick if do this in the proper mode (I have the bootloader unlocked and I know how to downgrade but beacause it is to 4.4.4 I have the doubt o fwhat could happen if I do it).
I thin that this could be very usefull to other users that are in the same situation that me.
Thanks in advance!
Yea there is a risk of bricking. The downgrade to 4.4.4 then taking OTA's has caused many brazilian moto x to brick.

Even if the ota update is to 5.1 directrly?
I´m asking becasue i have understood that the problem was due to the vertsion of the bootloader.

The issue is due to the boot loader version. The OTA updater script sometimes fails to check for the boot loader status and flashes/bricks anyway. There is no guarantee if you downgrade to 4.4.4 and take 5.1 OTA that you will brick, but there is no guarantee that you will not either. Just take it through MDM and be safe. MDM will do the proper checks.

Just yesterday I had made a downgrade from 5.1 to 4.4.4 PE because WIFI issues.
with no brick at all.

But my point is if there would be any risk of brick when i update via ota directly to 5.1.

The brick is not when you downgrade. The brick happens when you downgrade then take an OTA. Don't take an OTA or you risk bricking it.

Oh sorry my mistake. Yes, most probably is its gonna semibrick if you take the ota

You are saying that if I do the downgrade succesfully and then I upgrade to 5.1 by MDM y will have 5.1 with no brick risk ?

Correct. Because MDM doesn't upgrade the phone like an OTA. MDM flashes the complete images.

I had xposed installed and then the OTA notification came so I wanted to get rid of xposed. I just did a full reset pretty much and downloaded 5.0 22.46-11 from Motorola's website and flashed it. I noticed, however, that they incremented the release key or something from
motorola/victara_tmo/victara:5.0/LXE22.46-11/10:user/release-keys

to

My OTA went away and I cannot sideload any OTA update files because the release keys don't match. Will I still receive the OTA eventually or do I need to try and find an old 22.46-11 image?
If you use the image from Motorola, you won't get OTA. Reflash using graffixNYC 5.0 image, you should get OTA update.

1. I got soak test 5.0.2 early and back to 4.4.4 again.
2. Now, my bootloader is 30.BC
3. I upgrade my phone second times, one way is TWRP and one is OTA
4. My phone is 4.4.4 XT1052 and unlocked bootloader.
So, how to upgrade now? I am afraid I perhaps brick my phone.
I don't want to use TWRP to upgrade to 5.1 that perhaps have bugs.
1. Flash 4.4.4 SBF? but my bootloader is 30.BC(5.0.2 soak test), will it brick my phone?
2. Flash 4.4.4 without motoboot.img and gpt.bin? but my bootloader is incorrect. Upgrade will be successful?
3. Wait 5.1 SBF to flash. It is the safe method I think. But I don't know when the SBF coming.
Why not flashing a TWRP backup of a newly installed 5.1?

Some member has shared his TWRP backup taken after factoring RESET and installing 5.1 OTA.
Its in General section. Its not the Soak test version. Why not flashing it via TWRP?
I am planning to download and flash it

Could you explain in detail how do i get back to 4.4.4? I am fairly new to all this. i'll update my phone over OTA later on.
Can you help me with 4.4.4? Step wise? I know about the manual flashing but when i do so it was my bootloader is updated so i cannot downgrade.

That's true. You can not downgrade, if you are on a light, official side. But if you want to try dark side - flash your Asia region 4.4.4 without "gpt" and "motoboot" lines in its XML file. Once flashed 4.4.4, you can take OTA 5.1 on it without any problem.
A message to future users. Being on 5.1.1, then downgrade to 4.4.4, and taking 5.1 OTA - will brick. Don't do that.
Will i have to install the all soak test or its possible to i stall ota of 8.1 on 1st soak test update

You have June security patch?
If you're on the 1st soak test, you likely will not be able to flash the official Oreo OTA when it comes out. The official OTA will likely require a different build to flash on.
You have a few options:
1) find and flash all the soak tests.
2) revert back to the latest stock 7.1.1 firmware and wait for the official OTA (you must flash the correct build for your device, else you will not receive OTA updates). May be problematic if you had IMEI issues previously.
3) hope the official Oreo stock ROM is leaked.

That's wild. I only know of one soak test for our device. Do you know where to find the others?

As far as I know, there's OPS28.65-7 (2nd soak test)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77055997&postcount=252
and OPS28.65-14 (3rd soak test) https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77154821&postcount=304 despite what the patch notes day, they appear to be both 8.1.
No one's been able to capture the updates yet, though there is a call out for help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77176543&postcount=315 but if that's not possible, then you're stuck on the update without any further updates unless you choose to perform a downgrade or wait for the official Oreo stock fastboot ROM to appear. I've no idea when that is.
