Hi guys,
I just finished installing everything that I use with my G2 but one doubt comes to my mind: Is there anything fun/interesting to do with this phone?
I mean, some kind of neat feature that would I missed?
Examples:
With the Atrix HD i could do the battery mod, anything like that?
Can I use Google Cardboard with this one?
There're lenses for the camera (like iphones does?)
Just done the 4k recording video hack.
Any idea of fun/interesting things would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later, but has anyone made a 4-track recording app for Android yet? Please, please, please?

Considering it has exactly one mono input until some netbooks/notebooks/desktop computers come out running it, why?

With a four-track (or more) recorder you can layer tracks recorded individually to create and mix songs. There's a (reportedly) decent iPhone app called GigBaby that does that and more (drum machine, etc.).
Great Idea
It would be a great idea even if you had to buy some external hardware that plugs into the mini usb port to make it work.
Something like this maybe:
http://centrance.com/products/mp/
Or maybe even a battery powered bluetooth input device. (None out there yet but would be nice)
I like it, this would be great for the traveling musician.
It sould be neat to record a little something as a concept until you could hit the studio. It shouldn't be too hard, take a voice recorder app and just overlay the recordings.
I wonder, will it ever be possible to use the front camera as a webcam on Apps like paltalk, or in tinychat, or any type of video chats? Does anybody know if it's possible or even likely to happen or not? Just a question from me too somebody much smarter than me. By the way, I tried it on various video chat rooms and no go.
Thanks to anyone who answers,
Knotrkr

Well you have a SGT, why not load up the software and give it a try. Then report back what the results were.

good first impressions. surprised to see how well the nexus 7 screen looked when it was streaming the movie. UI looks very snappy. looking forward to your full video review. Right be a good idea to show off some tegra3 optimized games like Dead Trigger. also on how fast the stock chrome browser is.

I like the video. Simple enough to cover the basics of the tablet (screen, video, jellybean, etc.) and a simple comparison against the fire. The video didn't go too much in depth against the Fire but that'd be a separate video in itself.
Which rooting video was that you were talking about? Can't find one myself.

Great video but its not identical to the phone layout. Email and contacts and many other Apps run in tablet mode.

I did misspeak you are correct.
I'll be sure to bring that up!
I gave you a thumbs up! All these videos, I still cannot believe how snappy that tablet looks. Cannot wait until tomorrow.
Hey guys i dont personally own the VR as its my gfs device. She doesnt root her device so doesnt know much about xda but wanted me to ask you guys the following questions. Thanks kn advance!
1. Is there any devolopment for the VR in general?
2. Is the controller for it useful.if so Whats it good for?
3. Is there any motion sensor thingys like on htc vibe
4. Is there anyway to make it not as blurry? She has s7 edge and i have a note 5. ( we know about the focus slider ontop)
5. Is there music visulation apps? I found grooVR...but not sure if thats the only thing/how to use it while laying down.
Thanks guys
1:yes
2:yes and there are a few options other than samsungs
3:not yet but being worked on 3rd party
4:sometimes blurriness comes from either fog on lenses and/or oil on phone screen or lenses if you ever touched them. Be mindful these are optics and just like telescopes and microscopes you can potentially get sleeks from cleaning them improperly.
5:dont know, i dont use music apps in vr

The controller is mostly useful for games. There are some games that require one. You can find inexpensive controllers on Amazon that work well.

I have a XT1096. I love this phone. The Nexus experience and Moto Voice is all great, but man is the Camera app UI horrific. I can see what they were going for. I think they wanted some originality to phone camera UI but it ended up only being more inconvenient to use. Especially when I ask a stranger to take a photo for me, it's a nightmare. Are there any ported cameras or something that will make this UI simpler and more generic?

If only for photos, Google's latest camera from the Nexus works, but it crashes if you launch video etc.
Otherwise, Camera MX is a fairly good app.
Tried to download the Moto G4 Camera apk, but couldn't get it to install. Maybe someone can work on that?
For me though, the Moto camera as it is has survived simply thanks to its double twist to launch gesture, if not it would've been long replaced.
HTC Camera from the HTC 10 works just fine. You can find the apk here on xda. The only issue I found is that HDR is very inconsistent, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I ended up switiching back due to the fact that I rely on HDR way too often.
