My speakerphone isn't working. Well kind of, it's incredibly quiet to the point where I would have to shout at my phone in order for the other person to hear me. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

If you have to shout then is the microphone. If you can't hear the other person well then is the speaker or the volume is to low.

i got the diamond...i love the phone.
But i have one problem which iritates me lot...
Sound...When i call i cant here voice of the other person...
So i have to use speaker all the time.
Does ROM update will clear this problem?
pretty weird problem you got there... so the volume is maxed out in both system and in-call? be careful, the system/ring/in-call volumes are three different things...
And now, my BIG PROBLEM:
I am sure all of you know what a "beep" means... that is, when you make a phonecall, you hear those "beeps", indicating that at the other end, the phone is ringing... the problem is I CANNOT HEAR anything... i do not actually know when the call is connected because i cannot hear anything... the volume is so low that i can barely hear something if there is no noise at all around me... but the actuall voice volume is ok, when actually talking with somebody... only the "beeps" have the issue...
how cand i fix this? It is really annoying.. :|
ANYONE... there are hundreds users navigating but not one able to answer this? what a community...
bump bump bump
Ops, maybe the speaker is broken..
the speaker is fine... everything can be heard just fine... all but the "beeps" you should hear loud an clear when u make a phone call... i thought i wrote this pretty clear in the post above :|
same problem here, please guys
There is one more thread about this problem

No solution. I sent my phone for repair.
I have a very frustrating problem with my Samsung Captivate. Sometimes my mic stops working in the middle of a call but the call continues and i can hear the person on the call but they can't hear me. This generally happes at the same places so i suspect this is related to light somehow. Anybody have any idea what might this be related ?
Any help would be very appreciated.

Still no answers .. am i the only one who has this problem ? I just discovered if i put in a headphone into the mic jack and put out when this problem happens, it solves the problem and i can speak to the caller again. Any ideas what might this be about, is my phone defected or this is software related ?
Did you check to see if it was muted? I've had that happen once.

My mom had this problem. I did what you did and she hasn't had the problem since. Not sure what else to do.

i have this problem too.
The other end completely cuts out when I talk a little louder than normally.
Anyone else? Try humming or singing "laaaaa" while on a call and please report back.

Probably a related issue to what I've been experiencing during normal calls when recipients cannot hear me. It happens randomly during phone conversation where they suddenly cannot hear me at all. As for your sounds you're testing with, it may be registering your loud sounds as "background noise" since they are not typical human speech (even though you should be able to say "laaa" or hum into your phone if you want!).
Check my details here and see if you can replicate using only normal speech, and I'll update when I hear from HTC, and hopefully have some news of it being addressed in a future update.

Hey everyone,
I have the problem that the call-volume is very low. I've already tried different settings, but there is not really any help.
Does anyone have the same issues? When I'm in a silent ambient, it is okay, but e.g. in the train it is really hard for me to understand the other person.
And no - my ears are not THAT bad
Haven't really noticed an issue with mine, although not usually calling from anywhere that is too noisy.
yes i have that prob.setting the qualiser to bright and disabling speaker voice enhancement improves it a little. but still the call volume is low.
Yes i also feel its bit low... but not very low!
For me it's good enough!
When I have a call in quiet place or a noisy place like in the city or a cafe or something, I understand everything good
i have that problem tooooo.in fact i fight with my gf every time cuz i cant hear what she say ,any advice to fix this problem?can i change some setting and fix this?
It's not that bad! Try using the earphones
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
:silly: using an earphone is not a solution.. can someone tell if this issue can be resolved using some mod/software?

Did this solution work for anyone? I am not seeing much difference, please help me if there is any third party application which can be used to boost the volume.
I've wanted to find out if there's a way for some time!
I connect to my car via aux cable for hands free.
But when I get a call I have to increase volume 7 or 8 steps for me to hear.
And then when the call finishes, I get deafened from when the radio kicks back in!
Hey people,
I have quite a few issues with my new Z3 Compact. This is my second post here (link to first http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/mobile-data-disappears-reboot-t2899890?nocache=1 )..
My question is as follows: Do you guys also have the issue, that the other person in a call can't hear you when you have the call on loudspeaker? It happens to me every time I do it, and as soon as I toggle the speaker off, and use the phone normally up to the ear there is no problem.
This was never an issue with my Galaxy S3 fortunately, but now it is.
Also, any ideas for a fix?
Thank you in advance

Working fine here. Could be so that you're speaker input is broken. Normal call and speaker phone doesn't use the same input.

I am sorry, I didn't explain well enough. They can hear me, my voice is just muffled they say.
I can't wait for cyanogenmod to get to this phone I am having a bunch of software issues
I have the same issue. Usually only happens when you are too close to the mic and you have to be close because the speakerphone is not loud enough
Try speaking a little further away.
