[Q] Custom icon displaying on inital boot logo after root - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

After using the one-click method, the initial boot screen has a new icon of a lock and it says "Custom" above it. Does this mean the knox flag has been tripped or is it nothing to worry about? What part of the rooting process made this appear?

I'm sure it's ok...I think it's talked about in the OP..

Doesn't mean Knox was tripped, just that the checksum of a system folder was modified. Nothing to worry about. It goes away if you Odin back to stock.

Ah ok, I renamed the SDM apk so that makes sense. Thanks guys!

Once you odin back to stock you have to boot into recovery and factory data reset

Soft Brick after Wipe in Safe Strap

I am new to the note 3 and did a full wipe in the 'advance options'...Coming from the s4 that was standard and it apparently soft bricks the phone here.
I am able to get to download mode. It just hangs on the Samsung screen.
Do we have the odin files for 4.4.2? I was on N900 I think. (Literally just got the phone so cant remember)
See if you boot into recovery by holding power, home and down key. If so download a custom rom on your computer and put on a sd card and try to install that way. Otherwise try to odin back to stock. Good luck

He said he's on 4.4.2, so he most likely has the A3 bootloader. You cannot restore back to MJ5 once you're on the A3 bootloader.
Looks like the only way is going to be Best Buy

im guessing carl1961 fix should be good for the ones stuck on a3 bl's but not sure. if you softbrick again after that then a reflash of nc2 is the way to go.

Let me guess. You wiped your stock slot clean then rebooted? LOL
You need to get with @carl1961 and he'll get ya back and running. Don't even think about the "restore to mj5" thread. You have the locked bootloader and it wouldn't work for you.

Ill try that if BB fails. I just want stock NC2 so i can root and safestrap away...
Cant believe I soft bricked a phone lol. This is like my 6th droid and ive never bricked b4.
At least im on MLG now. I bet BB can update it to NC2. I tried to sideload the update but it expects MLD.

I have no idea. I was attributing it to the fact i did a full wipe in advance. I cheeked all expect micro SD then flashed Dynamic Kat and the theme. Then it wouldn't get past the Samsung Logo screen.
Maybe it was an MD5 mismatch...

WARNING! TOWELROOT:Phone does not boot after enabling U Power Saving Mode

UPDATE2: This only seems to happen if you uninstall the Launcher system app. Mine does not seem to be affected by Xposed or other mods, and works 100% fine now in U Power Saving.
Just decided to try Ultra Power Saving mode after rooting and modding my phone yesterday. I'm not sure what exactly caused it (xposed, root, w.e) but my phone will not boot past the ATT Globe now. Just thought everyone might appreciate a heads up that they may have to factory reset after enabling this setting.
I'll update if my phone decides to boot up (letting it sit now)
UPDATE: It seems that after rooting, U power saving does have the potential to BRICK your phone. DO NOT ENABLE FOR ANY REASON AFTER ROOTING.
My gut says the culprit was uninstalling Launcher.apk (thought it was the google launcher >_>) gonna have to factory reset now.
More info dude
You might have just freaked out a noob here. Root was just achieved yesterday for the Verizon and ATT platform. Please post your hardware software state so we don't get confused here.

Same here cant get past the logo did a factory reset in recovery and still a no go. I tried to Odin back but still a no go as the files we have to return to stock are older I guess than the version I had on my phone. I am not 100% sure what caused it on my phone. Ive let mine sit for 20minutes or so and no go. took out the battery for a few hours etc no go. So now I am looking for Firmware KOT 49.G900AUCU2AND3.

Are you sure that your didn't remove or freeze the launcher? If you don't have a third party launcher installed, freezing/removing the launcher.apk will cause the phone to not boot past the logo screen.

I disagree. There are serious disk space concerns with this phone. If I am not going to use an app,and I have root, I am deleting it to recover the space it takes plus any associated files. If that breaks something, then that sucks. You can always reinstall through factory reset.
I'm fairly confident your wrong. Factory reset won't make uninstalled system apps reappear. That's why they don't let you delete them normally.
Just Odin back to stock after Odin flashes reboot into recovery and wipe all data reboot and all should be well

Worked for me, and so far at least one other person in my thread.

Custom boot screen.

So I rooted my Note, but I'm on the stock ROM. After I rooted I got the initial boot screen before the Att animation come up as "custom" with an unlocked icon. This stayed that way for a few days until I got curious if I had tripped Knox, so I went in download mode to see that I hadn't. After that, I now no longer see the "custom" at boot up. In not sure what happened... Lol.

[Q] Can't get rid of "Custom" boot screen.

I am trying to get my device back to as close to stock as possible. I have played with Root and Wanam Exposed.
I had a weird issue with force closes and could not figure it out so I wiped the device using the factory reset option. Even after that I have FC's with the health app. (no biggie there). The odd thing is that I still have the "CUSTOM" logo on the boot screen that I cant seem to get rid of.
I did a quick search on a bone stock ROM for NC2 KK but have come up empty.
I am currently looking at the Download Screen "ODIN MODE" and the Current Binary is "Samsung Official" System Status "Official" Knox Lock reads 0x0, so I have not tripped knox either.
Kinda baffled here and I seem to be coming up empty handed on all my searches.
Any one got any ideas?

The op warned those who are still on 4.3 that if they used the ver 3 mlg with the nc2 bootloader they cannot go back to jb. But to those of us who already are locked to nc2 we could recover from a bootloop or restore to factory for warranty purposes or just want to go back to stock. Read up on that carefully very very useful if you like to play with your phone.

Galaxy S6 Edge- Green ASV TBL VER Message On Start, After Root

Green ASV TBL VER message on start up
Just rooted the Galaxy S6 Edge. It didn't trip KNOX, but on restart/start up now, 3 lines of ASV messages pops up on top left of the screen. Is there way to get rid of it? Thanks!
This is because you flashed the 5.0.1 engineering bootloader. This makes it so you can flash things without tripping Knox. If you want to keep knox and still have root then you're going to have to keep this bootloader right now. Note that the fingerprint sensor is going to be disabled with this bootloader, however.
ahhh. so that's why there is the ASV message ... It's ok that the fingerprint doesn't work... not a fan of it anyways lol... always used pattern unlock. I guess i'll keep the green message. not a big deal. when i do the jump upgrade and flash it the Official Firmware the green ASV message will be gone?
My galaxy s6 has the same thing. What can I do to remove this? I need the fingerprint sensor working and I have no use for a custom bootloader
