Help a Noob, please TT-TT - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Today my brother gave me his Samsung GT N7000, so i'm trying to root it since then. I've met tons of problems on the road.
First thing: When I tried to install Root_SuperSU via Install Update from external card, i've got an error message [E]: Signature Verification Failed.
Then I've tried to flash my stock firmware "Brazil(VIVO) v4.1.2"
No success.
Then I've tried to flash the kernel Abyss but still failing on Odin.
Here's the message that comes up:

I don't know what to do!
Some useful infos:
Version: 4.1.2
N7000UBLSG
When I used Odin, the phone was on USB Debug mode and also had "Install unknow sorce" ticked.
I have installed Kies and Samsung's drivers.
THANKS!

As per the screenshot , it seems there is no connection between the phone and pc.. You first need to install samsung usb drivers and then try again..
If you meaning to root, try with Philz kernel for N7000. look for a kernel that matches your rom build number. If its not available, then any for 4.1.2 will do like DDLSC or XXLTA

[Q] Can I flash CM7 via Odin?

Would anyone be kind enough to tell me how I can flash CM7 with Odin? I tried installing Heimdall, and I cannot get past error 12, and also error 3, so IDK what is up with that. Odin works, and I've used it to flash the overcome rom before. But I don't know in what order to flash the files, or if I need to reboot and flash more files, etc.
My tab is on ... GT-P1000, firmware 2.3.3, baseband P1000XXJPZ,
Kernel 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #2, build number GINGERBREAD.XXJQ1
Please. Thank you.
Why not just flash via cwr

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I tried that, and it did not work for me.
S, have you rooted the tab and installed CWM or just flashed the rooted kernel with CWM already cooked in?
Its no good just flashing to gingerbread.
Also, with Heimdall, you need to flash the drivers 1st. Its called Zadig.exe in the drivers folder. It won't work otherwise ( this will take a little while, it even says so).
If you want to go back to Samsung drivers afterwards, just put the tab into download mode again (after flash is complete) and rollback the drivers. This has worked multiple times on my PC using Windows 7 64 bit...

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Mini Plus (S5570i) can't switch back to stock rom

I have read the post from sukhad where he used odin, that process helped me once when I soft-bricked my phone then after that I installed the JellyPlus custom rom from fahmi at first glance it was great (it was really great) but I cannot connect to any wi-fi area so I decided to switch back to stock rom and use the method from sukhad but odin don't detect my phone I don't know why.
I already used odin v1.84 and v1.87 both not detecting my phone. I'm thinking that my installed kernel had something to do with this problem because the recommended kernel in the website of fahmi was Cor Plenus and I used that too 2.0.0, 2.0.2 and 2.1.5 they're not working properly with my phone, it restarts, so I used the stock kernel from Fedy but still no wifi. Now I want to switch back to stock rom can anyone help me? I did not backup my stock rom. I DID NOT BACKUP ANYTHING

if you dont have the phone please dont comment sir...
newer versions of odins are not compatible with s5570i.
Use samsung galaxy Y odin sir.
Install kies and update kies fully for drivers. If it's not detected still, change your usb port. Probably it's the usb port you're having problem.
If you installed heimdall, it changes drivers for one spesific usb port, in that case, if you have only one usb port, uninstall everything about samsung including heimdall, install kies, update kies and try odin again.
I use odin 1.84 and it works with cor plenus too.

Hello everyone ! I have a samsung galaxy s3 mini i8190
I flash CM , but i didn't like it so i tried to install with odin the original firmware.
Problem: Bootloop (logo Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini reboot infinite loop)
I can't enter in Recovery Mode, only i can enter in Download Mode
I use ODIN to try to install CWM , but still don't work..
And i have another problem. When I click start (in odin) it stops at SetupConnection, but if I disconnect & reconnect (usb) it starts flashing.
Please, help me.
Try to flash stock recovery instead of CWM.

I said this in the thread. If i'm wrong, please correct me.
Your kernel is f****ed up. You need to find any rooted stock kernel, flash it with Odin and then flash CWM. You don't need whole ROM, only kernel. Happened to me a lot while I was still on SGS1.
As for connection problem, perhaps clearing all drivers from your win and reinstall them could help.

Yes you did, but I asked you to try with STOCK RECOVERY instead.
It's not always a part of the official firmware package.

Download service firmware and solve all your problems
Then just flash whatever rom you'd like.
Thanks a lot tys0n ! My Phone works now!
Mine has the same problem! I flashed kernels and params as well!

What if my device cant be recognised by my pc. Ive tried every pc/laptop I own with different OS. So basically I have a bootloop stuck phone with no recovery mode available and it doesnt connect to the pc. Is there any way to fix that? Or is the phone completely bricked and I cant do anything about it.
PS: I have tried installing latest samsung drivers on my pc but it still cant recognise the phone.
Have had this phone for 6 years and it was ****ing amazing. I missed this little guy and want to fix him just as a "souvenir" since it was my first ever smartphone.

[Q] Galaxy Note N7000 Firmware Error

Hi all..
My friend encountered this issue recently..
where the phone cannot be started and the firmware error appears.
I've tried several attemps on recovering it back.
1. it cannot go into stock recovery mode
2. it can go into download mode
so i've tried to flash thru odin:
1) philztouch custom recovery
2) stock rom jelly bean from sammobile.com
both attemps failed.
so my next move is to connect thru kies.
it failed again as it does not detect the device to do the emergency phone recovery.
so now im in the idea of trying to flash custom recovery again and a custom rom. do not know whether it works or not, but ill try.
any other solutions/ideas?
Thanks.
Where does the stock JB flash fail? Odin logs? Which version of philz kernel did you try to flash?

i cannot remember but it seems that when it comes to the "KERNEL" status appears in the odin box, it took a while n then fails.
PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT9-ORA-5.08.5.tar.md5
this is what i used to flash the philztouch.
any ideas?

If you cannot get the rom to flash.... You have to go through the philz kernel using odin.. Try to flash philz kernel xxlta version again using odin. Make sure you remove the battery for a couple of seconds. Then boot into odin mode. Use main USB ports and genuine USB cable.

[Q] Odin just won't flash at all

Hi guys, my problem is as stated in the title, Odin just will not let me flash my Note. My note is currently on (older) CM12 NightOwl alpha 5 ROM maintained by @bauner at this thread and wanting to upgrade to his newest beta release. Since it has no working recovery I have to flash a working one via Odin, I had problems with Odin not recognising the Note, so I reinstalled Kies and it appears it was a driver issue, so that being solved I tried flashing the stock ROM for my phone with Odin saying it failed, then attempted flashing Philz Touch (3 different versions) and failed those, tried adding the correct pit file and reattempted all previous recoveries and the ROM and those failed too. Since the NightOwl ROM is in .zip format I only assume I can install from recovery, oh I also tried flashing a kernel he supplied in the thread. I've also tried various Odin versions.
Any ideas?
Guess these forums aren't very active nowadays?
1st make sure there are no kies processes running in task manager.
Then flash philz XXLTA tar kernel file using odin.

Thanks for the reply. I've managed to flash my phone now but I did it on my old laptop, so the problem appears to be with my PC. I'm not sure what it is though, the only difference I could figure is that I was using a USB 3.0 port on my PC, is there any known issues with that? Everything else that could effect it is the same. Both had the same drivers, both didn't have Kies running, I even used the same cable, the port I was using on the PC is functional and transfurs data to other devices correctly... This has got me clueless.
