Hi there,
I'm currently running 4.4.3 and ran Sunshine to achieve s-off.
My question is this... What do I need to do to get to Lollipop and have root?
If you could provide step by step instructions I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!!

if you don't already have Lollipop, then start by posting your fastboot getvar all please without the imei number or serial number please, you want to keep those to yourself.
Thanks for replying, but I just realized that I'm not in the Verizon HTC One forum and have since posted in there. Doh!

I'll gladly help, but first, I'm gonna have to ask a couple questions, how did you root your phone? did you use z4? and are you s-off? if you don't know that that is, I can explain. Under the assumption that you have gone with a temporary root (s-on), you can go here and follow the instructions in the OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804692
Hope this helps, Happy Thanksgiving!

I rooted using the method outlined here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909258
My guess is this is s-on. I will wait to unroot until that is confirmed though.

If you go into h-boot, it will tell you either s-off or s-on. To get there, power down the device, hold the down volume button and the power button and the phone should boot into h-boot.
Hi all. My Incredible S is bought and use in Saudi Arabia. Few weeks ago i did OTA upgrade with the below result:
Android version 2.3.5
Htc sense version 3
Software number 3.09.145.2
I am thinking to try out rooting this phone. Would like to do this in Linux as I dont have a windows computer. My laptop runs ubuntu and mint LXDE, they are not the latest releases but i think it does not matter. I'm looking for a complete guide how to root in linux. I found a thread below but the phones are not IS. I am not sure if they are applicable.

My linux skills are average. Any help or link will be appreciated.

First since you now have HBOOT 2.00.0000 your only option currently is to begin by unlocking the bootloader using the procedure at HTCDEV.com.
Next you would flash a custom recovery so that you can install the latest SU-3.0.x.zip.
I suggest you do some more research and reading about these 3 steps before attempting it.

Since you are new, I would suggest you read and study the sticky threads in the General section and the Development section.

Goldcard will only let you use an RUU from a different carrier. To downgrade you need to change the main version which can only be achieved with root access.
Hey everyone, I need help flashing an RUU... I don't know the steps. I can't get LTE on my phone which I should have in my area so that's why I want to flash an RUU to get back to stock to see if it fixes my problem.
I'm on AT&T with S-OFF, bootloader unlocked, super CID... What do I need to do? I'm on a mac which is why all the guides I've found saying "just run the .exe" won't work for me.
If anyone could just write down some steps I'd be very grateful
Thanks!

Hi fellas! I'm kinda scared and confused right now.
I just bought a 2nd hand HTC One M7
and I noticed that it is rooted something like ViperOne, wanted to change it back to stock.
So I did some things with fastboot and now I'm stuck and I don't know where to start.
Can anyone help me with this one? This is my first time with root things so kinda be patient with me
Should I post the information about fastboot getvar all?
Yeah, maybe with more info we can help you.
Remember to remove your imei and serialnum
Check also this thread @nkk71

What options do you have in the bootloader screen and what exactly have you done/tried?
Which guides did you follow on the attempt to go back to stock?
Do you know which custom recovery it has?
I have the options of
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
SHOW BARCODE
I tried doing the fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
I don't know what I was doing I was desperate
Kinda busy at work specially I work at night can't bring it to an expert or some sort.

you have to do:
- Re-Unlock the device
- Flash a custom recovery
- Flash the guru zip for back to stock
- Relock the bootloader
Do someone has the patience to guide me in a step by step procedure and help me find the necessary tools. Should we do this with reply to this post?
I've downloaded alot of zip files almost went over my internet limit around 1gb per zip.
Thank you so much guys. Good thing there is XDA, active members

Gotcha! Right now I'm following the video of QBking unlocking my bootloader just give me couple of minutes see if this will work.
On nkk71's guide it says i need to remove the tampered and relocked
But on QBking's video i need to unlock it?
Is it the same or it is for a different thing?
Hey all
I've just tried updating to 4.3 via the OTA download but as I am rooted the install aborts and leaves me without the upgrade.
Please could a kind person explain to me how to manually install the update? I've read so many articles and threads that I'm totally baffled.
I'm currently running the stock O2 UK rom, S-on. I'm also don't mind losing root during the update.
Any advice would be masively appreciated!
Thank in advance.
Have you seen this Guide? [GUIDE] nkk71's SuperGUIDE to returning 100% back to stock It surely helps you

has nothing to do with being rooted or not. you need to be a bit more specific, which asserts fail during installation of the OTA?
also post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n), and have you pulled the OTA file on to your PC?
