I can see clearly now the Orzly is on! (Case Video Included) - G4 Accessories

I can see clearly, now the Orzly is on! (Video Included)
There is nothing worse than getting your fresh new phone and knowing that you have to cover up the beautiful thing with some hefty, bulky case. I personally hate it because it hides the beautiful new design. Therefore, I have searched high and low for cases that give me the protection without actually hiding the phone. I have tried numerous cases, and they all met below my expectations, now maybe I’m to picky or maybe there isn’t a case out there that does this for me, maybe I should live on the wild side and just not have a case! That seemed a little drastic, so I continued searching and came a across a case which I have not really seen before. The case is called,
**Drum roll please**
**Pause for dramatic effect**
Orzly Fusion Bumper Case!! (Cheers & clapping)
After finding this case, I could not believe my eyes, finally a case which does not hide the beauty of my new G4. It has a clear back, which will save my device from the eternal war of key scratching in the battlefield that is my pocket. It also, has a nice bumper thing around the edges, which will give me that much needed protection from everyday little bumps and knocks. Also it will give me some added grip while taking the phone in and out of my pockets, as well as when I’m a little bit heavy handed with my phone after a long day at work.
So I purchased the case from the Amazon.com website, as this was the only place I could find it, I looked on other outlets but as the phone is so new (not even out in most parts of the world). It arrived in the morning I knew I could revel in my glory; I came home from work and noticed a package on the floor. Upon opening the package, I could see that my case had arrived. Anyway, I quickly opened the package and before I knew it I placed my phone inside, the case was a very tight fit, but I think this is a good thing, I hate when cases loose their shape after time or come off too easily!
After that, I inspected the orzly case and noticed that all the buttons were accessible, well that and there are not any buttons on the side so this was not really a big danger. In addition, I inspected where my trusty charger and headphone ports where, and to my relief these were accessible. I also like that around the headphone port there is enough room for my DJ headphones. They have a slight bigger plastic around the jack and so this was a big plus for me, I mean I do not mind the smaller headphones, but when I am travelling on trains or planes for work, I like to use these as they a by far more comfortable.
So overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase, finding my perfect case has been an experience. On that note, I shall end my small story with a few words of the great Neil Armstrong.
Neil Armstrong
“This is one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind”

Sorry i forgot to post my video

That is one ugly cutout.

Haha I found your review of that quite amusing! Never have I heard someone so passionate about a case for their phone. I like the fusion too especially for the LG G4, perfect to protect the leather back but you can still see it. I've been reading the leather scuffs quite a bit so protection like this is need IMO. Anyways I was able to find a link to the video from Orzly, it's a bit more in depth than the one you've posted so thought I'd share it on here

The leather back need scratches and so on to make it unique.... Or do you put your leather wallet in an case?

I have just noticed, that we don't have a link for this item. Does anyone know where I can purchase this case from?

Here is mine, also with Orzly's tempered glass on screen.

I am still holding out for a true bumper case or edge guard so I can put tons of scratches, dents, water spots, etc. on the leather. That real minimal one with the corner clamp from china seems shady, but it's a start for $4.
And I'm looking at my wallet and I love the look of it after being smoothed out and beat up after a year in my back pocket.
First thing I do though is I'm going to spray it down real well with a water seal and conditioner you'd use for nice leather shoes to give some resistance to stains.

I never actually thought about using water seal and conditioner on my wallet or leather back, it does make sense now that you say it.

This ebay seller has some great reviews! I hope my case arrives soon!!

Does the Orzly case go on and come off easy for the leather back? I had read a few reviews that the case is difficult to remove and the leather corners get scuffed removing the case.

After a couple weeks of use, IMHO you should AVOID this case.
It gets easily scratched -no rough treatment received- with lots of tiny marks and smudges, it's really hard to remove when using the leather back, it doesn't have double layering or cushioning on the corners.
It's hard to appreciate the small scratches in pictures unless you reflect some light:
Plus, it leaves cutout markings on the leather back cover:
Seriously disappointed. I'm getting a Spigen or Ringke next.

I think any transparent case is going to have issues of getting the micro scratches on the back. It's also not the greatest in taking on and off with the leather back for sure. I surprisingly don't have any issues taking my UAG case on and off with my leather back.

hopefully not. case mate is a pretty reputable brand, never had any complaints from any of their products and i dont think that the Pop case will disappoint.
I hope not too but a bunch of case an the plastic an tpu cases seem to mark up the phone only the silicone ones seem to not hurt the phone

well those are cheap eBay cases besides.. if it was to cause a scratch or whatever.. it'd take a few days to actually tell if it does scratch the phone or it could of been there before.
Co-molded materials of plastic and soft rubber unite to create a hard case with a soft touch. The lightweight plastic body of the Pop! protects from unforeseeable impacts, while keeping your screen lifted away from surfaces. The Pop! features contemporary color pairings to create a modern look for your device. Rubber sides make for an easy grip. Inside, the soft material hugs your Nexus S like a glove. Not even Batman and Robin are that tight.

from the description.. it doesnt seem like it was scratch, and besides.. the "Pop" is a universal case for many other phones, im sure it would be relatively similar for the Nexus S
personally.. im not too worried, case mate has never ceased to disappoint me
Alright. I just got it in the mail and opened it up. Some things that are easily noticeable
- Contour Case
- Comes with Screen protectors (as every other Case Mate case) & Screen cloth wipe
- Grip does feel better with the sides.
- Cut out holes are perfectly fine.
- Just a little bit bulker but not too much. Maybe a little more than the Tough Case.
- Power / Volume are a lot easier to press.
- Phone isn't all up on the case. But it isn't loose at all.

Overall, a great case. However, after removing the phone from the case several times (over a month or two), the rubber around the corners is tearing.
Will probably end up with a different case that doesn't get destroyed by removal.
Ditto.....loved my pop but it fell apart after just a few weeks.

Review of Asus Nexus 7 Travel Case - Slimmest case with best fit

Here is my review http://smartphoneblogging.com/2012/...-its-not-half-as-bad-as-many-reviews-suggest/
Even with all of its shortcomings I prefer this to all those huge and ugly leather cases. Its slim, light and has great grip...I don't care much about the missing magnet, but I do miss the stand function though...
I agree with the review, but they could have done better in designing it. I found a lot of the cases don't look to nice, so I just keep mine in a neoprene case for when I take it out, the tablet is naked.
I have also been thinking to live without a case but at the end I need something which completely wraps around my nexus 7 without adding bulk. I had a pouch too but it was too cumbersome to take it out of it all the time...at the moment there is no better solution for me than the nexus travel case...
Mine, like every phone I've owned lately, lives in a TPU skin, and I just pop it in the lovely Portal-themed felt sleeve my girlfriend made me when I'm out of the house. I don't really trust myself using a naked device at all. The times my devices come out of their TPU skins are almost certainly the time I will drop them... lol
Lack of magnet sleep and magnetic close could have made the case a lot better, but I think. I don't have it yet so I might try to mod it a little with some relatively weak magnets and some tape if I can help not taking the away from its sleekness.

I agree 100%. Just bought original case in light gray and it is fantastic. Such a nice look, looks good quality and feels great in hand. I don't mind the stand, I don't mind that the cover can flip open because there's no security button or something (I have it in my pocket anyway so there's not much room to flap open) what I mind is the magnet because the power and volume buttons are a bit awkwared to press since they're covered with silicone. I mean, it's easy to press, no problems there, it just works - but there is no "click" feeling to it. Even though it is pretty expensive here in the Czech rep (500 Crowns, that;s like 20 Euros) I don't have regrets - the build quality is great and it looks and feels fantastic.
cheers,
D.

what i'd really want is a bumper case, with a cover for the screen. The back really doesn't need protection from scratches and stuff like the iPad. Still caseless and waiting

True. Basically I'd love to have a smart cover like Apple provides. It only covers the screen. I also think that the Nexus 7 doesn't need an additional back cover.
A small bumper with a screen cover is really a nice idea.
What I like about the original Asus cover is that it changes the color of your Nexus - I have light gray color and it is almost white, so the Nexus looks completely different Yes, no need for back cover, but kinda nice to see it it light gray or any other color they offer
I hear this was a flop to. I was considering accessories for m N7.
But I dont want to loose the back rubber with I love. and the Damn N7 will slip right in my back pocket if I need to go make a tech call.
I'm hereby going caseless.

If just it had a magnet and were able to be folded as a stand, it would be great!

I don't want to manually mod the case, that's not my job. Your solution is nice, but its ridiculous that Google or Asus let it come to this. They should give us a premium case.
Picked one up tonight at Walmart. Was looking for a generic case and I was happily suprised to see one. $29.88. By the time Google gets tax and shipping it was worth the extra.
I really like it so far.

Silly question, but I have to ask

I want to protect the screen from cracking on an accidental fall and I've had numerous recommendations all different from one another. I've done some research but again I've found conflicting results.
I've heard/read that a hard case is the best bet to protect the screen from breaking on a fall (seems logical), but also (logically) it will increase the thickness and width of the phone. I want to avoid that as best I can as the phone is huge already for me.
I've heard/read that a tempered glass screen protector will offer some form of protection against cracks and breaks of the glass if the phone does fall. Of course not as much as a solid hard case, but better than no cover. I've been told by one person that it will give the phone screen about 50% more strength, someone told me that it will double the strength of the screen, another told me it will do nothing.
I also read stories of having your phone 'treated' (I dont know what that means and I cant find any more info about this) whereby the glass has its strength increased to avoid breaks and cracks.
What is my best option to keep the phone slim and give the glass some kind of protection, without the use of a case? Does anyone have any kind of advice to offer?
A tempered glass protector will help some. Its hard to say how much though. It cant be quantified because screen breaks arent always from direct contact between screen and surface. Best protection would be protector AND case.
I'm getting a ringke slim case in crystal. Its pretty much the thinnest hard case. Maybe it will be slim enough for you.

Yes, I thought the tempered glass protector would help but assumed it wouldn't help much/be measurable due to the different ways a phone could break.
Buy a tempered glass screen protector, i bough the one from Yootech on amazon.
Like what others have said, a tempered glass protector is what you're looking for. They're much better than plastic screen protectors.
Tempered offers better protection, feels better in the hand. The only con is that it may not cover all the edges as tempered glass is flat whereas plastic screen protectors can be curved.

I'm not sure how protective a "skin" is but it could be somewhat handy, the big names would be dbrand and slickwraps.

My first dbrand was for the nexus 4. The nexus 4 had a glass back and I was annoyed during winter time, the back of the phone was super cold because of the glass.
I purchased a skin for the n6 for the back to prevent fingerprints. I think a awesome setup would be. Tempered glass, dbrand, slickwraps side skins.
Wish dbrand offered skins for the sides. But yeah dbrand should protect minor accidents like scratches

I haven't got a glass yet and im holding off as I like the feel of the 6 naked. I've ordered a Ringke slim in Crystal which should arrive today or tomorrow... and a carbon fibre back and sides from slickwraps. Not sure if I will like the case but it was cheap so its no loss...
I use a Unicorn Beetle case on my phone. A little bit big but you'll get used to it soon. I've dropped it about 4 times and it should have cracked about 3 times. But not a crack
Well the Slim case arrived. Actually the videos and photos dont actually do justice to how slim it is. Its really slim. BUT, it does creak a little and it scratches even using a lint cloth, which of course you need to use because if you get anything stuck between the phone and the case, you can see it a mile off.

Yeah very nice. I'd prefer clear all round to show off skin sides. ..and a bit big for me.
Ive never been one for cases but I did runrun an urban armor gear on my s3 for a few weeks. Was massive and looked like a portable toilet haha
Thank you to all for your clarification and suggestions in this thread; I hope that others with similar questions will find this a good source as I have for a quick, simple set of answers.
At this stage I'll likely end up with a temp glass cover for one phone and a flip case for the other (partner's phone, as they've recently decided they want).

[Review] Noreve Ambition Leather Pouch

Hi guys and gals, it's been a while since I've done a case review and this time it's a case from French manufacturer Noreve, who are known for their hand made, premium and genuine leather cases.
This time around I decided to go for a pouch, as I wanted something different, and was also curious as to how it was going to be crafted, since these are all hand made. Why the pouch, you ask? Well I just think they look great. While not the most practical of cases maybe, as you have to take the device out each and every time you want to use it, and you can't use the always on display, I just think it looks elegant. Going out for the night? Throw this case on. I've found it to be great since you're not distracted when any notifications come in, and when you put it on a table, it just looks elegant like most other phone cases simply do not. I'm not a big fan of plastic cases because they make the device look cheap. Think about it, you buy a phone for nearly $800, then you put a $5 plastic case on it, which just looks terrible. In my opinion, it totally takes away from the phones metal and glass construction. Also with the S7 Edge, I love the way it feels in the hand naked, and with this case you always have that experience.
As always, this case from Noreve is also exceptionally well made. It took a few weeks for it to arrive, since they only start making them once you order one, and depending on the finish, it can take longer or shorter. But normally it's about two weeks, which is perfectly fine for a custom made, leather case.
Unboxing a Noreve case is always an event. It comes in a very handsome red box, which is sealed by plastic wrap. Inside the box, you'll find a protective red pouch for your case - this is a very nice touch, and I love that they do this, when they really don't have to. But the devil is in the details. Inside the pouch, you'll find your case - and the first thing that you'll probably notice is the brilliant smell of genuine leather. It just adds something to the overall experience that I enjoy.
The case is made exceptionally well. Noreve cases have always been constructed with very high attention to detail, but I believe it's even higher now as there are no flaws with the case whatsoever. Because this is a pouch style case, there are no cut outs for the camera, power or volume rocker buttons. None for the micro USB or headphone jack, either. The only cut outs are for the speakers on the bottom. I think this is perfectly fine, and whenever I wanted to charge the phone or plug in some headphones, I'd just reverse the phone and put it into the pouch in reverse. I found this to be a practical and easy solution.
In conclusion, I am pretty much blown away by this company yet again. Never received a bad case from them, they only seem to get better. Mine is in the Ambition (grained leather) finish, but Norever offer a whole bunch of different finishes which you can also then customize. Basically, the sky is the limit. These guys can do whatever you want. They're a bit on the pricey side (my case was $45.40 - free shipping with DHL) but as we all know, you get what you pay for. This is not one of those Chinese made, fake leather cases which will rip and tear after a few months. Hell, I'm still using the one I have for my Galaxy Nexus, which should say something.
Here are some pictures below of this beauty. Thank you all for reading, and here's a link to their product page.
Cheers.
Can you elaborate on the inner material? How screen friendly is it?

The inner material is also leather, but more of a matte leather with the company logo branded into it. I'll try to get a picture up for you, but I haven't had any problems with it scratching the screen.

You can just order online from their site here, I believe they have worldwide free shipping with DHL.
Honestly to me that looks like a recipe for disaster. If anything like a grain of sand gets in it, you are running the screen down the inside material and it could scratch it.

Depends on where you live and what you do I guess. Last time I was in contact with actual sand was like 4 years ago.
Nice review and beautiful pictures.
Great review and photos, but it's not for me personally.

Review of iPulse Full Grain Leather Wallet

This type of leather wallet cases that you buy are a great way to save space in your pockets by combining your wallet and your phone into one. I received this "Real Full Grain Leather Wallet Case" and really enjoyed how well it was packed. It came in a iPulse bag, and once I removed it, it was again wrapped in some protective plastic. I placed my new Note 8 into the TPU slot where the phone goes, and it fits nice and snug. It a soft TPU type holder which isn't hard plastic and protects the phone also from scratches when inserting it. The wallet smells good too with that new Leather smell. The stitching is and looks hand done (unsure if it is), but it is all perfect. The leather has a soft feel too it. Cards fit snug in the slots. There is enough room for 2 credit cards, and license. A slot under them for money and other items. You maybe able to fit two cards per slot but I didn't try. Also, the magnet closer that holds the wallet closed has good strength to hold it well. I had no issues of it coming open.
Two areas of improvement I would recommend but more of a personal preference. It would be nice if it shuts off the phone screen like some of them do with magnets. Also, there is no cut out for the ear piece speaker so you have to keep the wallet open when talking on the phone.
Otherwise, a great wallet! Good job! Here are some nice pictures I took of the experience of unpacking it and putting my phone in it.

One note: In the video the guy states he has "a scratch on my phone already" because it's "wide open" at the bottom.
When in fact, the phone is not scratched at all. The case it pops into is. I thought that was kinda funny.
actually all this kind case needs no holes for the earpiece, just turn the volume to the max, imageine there is hole, and talk with case closed

This is an excellent case. Form, fit and finish are excellent. The TPU will protect against side scratches, but like most leather cases, the impact drop protection is not great-and certainly not Milspec rated. However, the magnetic latch and leather edges offer some drop/scratch protection.

I've found leather wallets to be great for drop protection and I've never broke a screen in one. I know it's happened and it doesn't mean I cant or wont but I've gone through a lot of phones and a lot of these style cases and they've all taken a few drops without damage. I do agree they are not the best possible protection but I'd say they're a fair bit better than the average case.

This one does a great job about protection.
The magnetic closure keeps it closed all the time, so dropping is never a problem for me.
FYI, I DO INSTALL GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR
Anyone have advice on how to run the shiney leather to suede on these cases. ? I'm thinking wet and dry sandpaper or wire wool perhaps.

Not to worry , used scotch pad and alcohol worked a treat.

As I mentioned a few months ago the suede one looks like a book which I didn't like. Now, this one feels like suede and the right color for me. Also, since the sheen has gone, it's going to age better with staining and what not. Grips and feels good also
