it's because you are S-OFF... keep it that way, do not go S-ON, unless you know exactly what you are doing

I have bought a 801e phone in China, rooted it and installed ViperOne. Everything works amazingly. The only thing bothering me, is that on BlinkFeed, when I want to choose a country for local content, I only have China to choose from... Is there any way to change this?

i think you have to change the CID so that it doesnt register as a chinese phone. search SuperCID change. once you do the change it should be fine. either that its a local issue with where you've set the location of your phone.

I've done that just now (changed the cid to 11111111), but that didn't help. I also can't find any way to change the location of my phone... Any suggestions?

Say what
Are you asking what will happen if you flash M8 firmware on an M7 device (with S-Off).... that's easy: you'll have a very nice paperweight... a complete brick!!!
.

The OP, but at least he posed the question instead of just blindly flashing that kernel.
this thread makes me want to flash IOS7 on my one mwahahahaha:laugh::good:
You magically turn your phone into an M8 - Let us know how it goes!
*Sarcasm may or may not be in this post*
OK a simple search would have told you what would happen if you flashed a kernel for a different device. It would brick your device beyond repair.

Hey guys,
So what is the likelihood of there ever being a WP rom for the Android version of the One M8?
Thanks.

You have to change it to the appropriate CID to get an OTA.

The same thing you did to change your CID to SuperCID. Search for a conversion guide around XDA to be on the safe side.
