Hey All;
Long time lurker on XDA, first time poster. My phone has been behaving badly, and thus far my googling, and searching XDA has not found any answers; so thank you in advance for any info you can provide.
I have and HTC HD7 (Bell Canada network). This morning my phone rebooted a couple of times, and when it "rebooted" the last time it just hung at the HTC boot screen (white screen with green HTC logo). First I took apart the phone and reseated the SD card. That in itself didn't resolve the issue, but I was able to do a factory reset and got the thing booted.
Now suddenly I am not able to get any service on the phone. It is not giving me any indication that there is an issue with the SIM card, and I even tried it with another known working SIM from my girlfriends phone to no avail. Also oddly, I have connected the phone to my PC, and tried to update it. It will update to 7.10, but will not detect that the mango update (7.5?) is available.
Seems very odd that suddenly the phone would now have no service, and I'm thinking that it must be related to the issues I had this morning. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
Thanks!
Phone acting wonky/no service
About 6 month ago I had an issue with my old Samsung Omnia 2 using Bell Mobility as well...My phone would continually show no service or jump to roaming mode...A call to bell mobility help line and a good rep indicated to me the sim card was recalled due to issues..A quick trip to bell mobilty and a new sim card fixed the issue...Hope this may help you..I now have an HD7 with the same replacement sim card no issues...
Nope... I manged to get reception for a little bit earlier tonight and then it stopped working again. Pretty sure I must have broken something in the antenna when I remounted the SD card. Tried to fix that problem and now the phone doesn't even power on. Great another $300 device down the toilet...
Hello everyone,
Yesterday I bought a secondhand HTC One (M7) because my old HOX was giving me headaches..
In all my enthousiasm i have forgotten my one and only sim card tool at the sellers house.
When I got home I immediately wanted to put my sim into my new M7 and tried to open the sim with the back of a needle.
This went wrong on my old One X (I was too deep in the phone with my needle).
I tried it with a paperclip and that worked perfectly. I'm getting to my point now.
When I inserted my Vodafone NL sim into the M7, the phone says no sim. So it appears it doesn't recognize the sim.
The phone came from another provider, so I'm not sure whether its simlock free or not..
When I put the sim back in my One X there was no problem at all, the phone recognizes the sim immediately and works perfectly fine..
So I tried putting 2-5 layers of tape on the back of the sim (yes, I tried 2,3,4 and 5 layers.)
I also performed a factory reset. But nothing seems to be working.... ((((
Is this a hardware failure or can we solve this?!?
BTW I am running stock Sense 6 Android 4.4.2
I recently went to Spain for 5 nights. To avoid breaking/losing my HTC one I transferred my sim to my old sensation to use whilst away. Once home I transferred my SIM back to my HTC one but it is no longer recognising my SIM, just saying emergency calls only yet the sim still works fine in the sensation. The HTC one was working perfectly b4 I went away so I fail to see how it has 'broken' itself whilst sitting on my bedside table for 5 days! The phone knows there is a SIM inserted because when I remove it it says 'please insert SIM'. I have tried a factory reset and even had a replacement sim from ee which have been to no avail. Any ideas on what is wrong? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thx.
Here is my situation, I have looked multiple places and have found many mixed answers.
My friend purchased an HTC One m7 from the "Chinese ebay" when he was living in China. He was given an HTC One m7wls, which from what I can find is the sprint version. He's now back in the US and he tried to do a factory reset which made the phone useless, broke the recovery and relocked and unrooted the phone.
I have unlocked the phone again, rooted it and got it working with a Sprint RUU based on posts in this forum. The problem is he has purchased a tmobile SIM card with service. The phone sees the SIM, sees the apn's but never get service. The same thing was happening before he did a factory reset. The radio shows an x and does not receive a signal at all.
The CID is currently SuperCID and the MID is now set to the sprint MID, it was set to blank beforehand. I did try to use a tmobile RUU but it would just bootloop.
The only thing that works that wasn't working is the Google play store and services actually function now.
Any suggestions on getting it working on tmobile if possible?
Thanks for the help!
my At&T Htc one m7 is unable to detect the sim card. It doesn't even show an error in the notification window almost all of the time, sometimes when i get the notification error (no sim card) i insert the sim again and it works. I tried the tape fix but it didn't work. Tried bending the tray a little that didn't work either. Tried using a nano-sim with a micro-sim adapter but that also doesn't work. Even when the sim card is inside the option to search networks is greyed out. I'm in India bought it on eBay in Dec'14. The HTC service guys are saying they cannot repair AT&T at all. What can be the issue ? Is the sim card reader faulty ?
I'm running Lollipop 5.02 stock with S-OFF.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I would strongly recommend not bending the tray, adding tape or using sim card adapters. All these things can make the situation worst, many members got their sim tray stuck inside the phone because of that.
Backup your files and try a factory reset first
If the phone isn't stock, you should flash back the stock rom
Also try with a new sim card
If nothing works its maybe an hardware damage and you'll need to send the phone for repair

I'm fully on stock, tried factory reset, tried with different sim cards (with a brand new one too) but nothing works. Problem is I don't know where to get the set repaired in India as the HTC service center refused to service it saying they won't get the parts for AT&T. Can sim reader be a problem ?

Not the first time I see this. Its a cheap excuse because they don't care/want to provide support for devices that were not purchased locally. I can't believe it's impossible for a big company like HTC to get the parts from the USA center or even directly from the manufacturer from Taiwan. Anyway it might not worth it depending the cost of repair, a brand new M7 cost around 200$

Maybe it could also be anything else like the radio or the motherboard, its hard to tell.
Got it rectified .. it was an issue with the imei .. the number just sometimes went blank because of which all this kept happening .. wrote the imei again and it's working fine since a day

Sorry for the late reply man, nothing got rectified, I even got the network IC changed. After a day it became the same again. Sold the set as the HTC guys in Delhi said the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Were you able to solve the problem ?
