Yes there are custom ROMs. Which version of the device do you have: 32 or 64-bit? And who is your carrier?
Further Clarification
My carrier is virgin mobile and I would like to say it is 64 bit but I am not 100 percent sure

You can use Unofficial Cyanogenmod 11, RaptorROM GPE, RaptorROM, and NonSense 1.04.
Questions
I don't know too much about programming and after looking at unofficial cyanogenmod 11 I'm not sure which link on github is the latest version

Directly under the title: Cyanogenmod 11 for Desire 510, you will find the tabs Discussion, Screenshots, and Downloads. You can usually find the download link in Downloads if it is not in the thread.

I suggest wiping in Advanced Wipe in TWRP, everything but the external sdcard, before you install every ROM
Go into the Downloads link and download cm-11-20141227-UNOFFICIAL-a11.zip, put it on your sdcard and use TWRP to install it
Download the boot.img also and you can flash that in TWRP
Look in the bottom right corner after you click on Install and change to Images... from Zips... to flash a .img
You can also use the fastboot method

I understand the frustration, but you can talk to @Beshnazzle to try to create a ROM for your device. He is working on one.

You can try flashing without wiping data. If everything goes right you're good to go. I just always wipe because I've had problems when I didn't.

Here is a great tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix7rrKS4keI. To flash the kernel (boot.img), put it on your sdcard, go into Install, look at the bottom right and you will see Zips..., simply tap that to change it to Images..., choose Boot and flash it.

I think you can extract the rom.zip, and then edit the android-info.txt file to match your Hboot version, but i don't know how safe that could be. I don't think anything could go wrong because all you are doing is making HBOOT think that you are flashing a newer version of the HBOOT but flashing the old one. Therefore downgrading the Radio, the reason you just can't flash a custom GB rom over an ICS rom is because the Radio is newer than the rom is meant for.
But. if you edit the Zip you can bypass the Security check, because the rom zip is signed. That will make S-off unnecessary.

Can help with 64-bit
I live in Australia and am about to purchase this phone which means that it has the Snapdragon 410 built in. From what I have seen, that is what dictates that it is 64-bit, correct? If that is the case I will be able to provide pulled recoveries and whatever else the developers require if they include some basic instructions (I know my way around ADB, android SDK, etc.)

Yeah its on my github. But its not really useful for anything. The kernel is modded to boot recovery. attempting to use it as anything else will cause problems. The current A11_CHL is wrong. So I couldn't even compile a kernel for CDMA folks.
The kernel source for the CDMA variant should be out, i think its under WWE on the htcdev site. i contacted HTC about releasing the kernel source for the Cricket variant. They are going to escalate it to the dev department. Hoping we have source code soon.

Yes its posted but the kernel source itself is wrong. It is missing everything for CDMA. All A11_CHL kernel source will be the same. You don't have to wait for cricket specific.

I didn't, I first flashed just the ROM and the phone would just keep hanging at the HTC screen and restart into recovery. Suggestions?
P.S.
Is looks like there is an Elemental for lollipop http://elementalx.org/devices/htc-one-m7/. I tried that on top of this ROM but it didn't help either. I am not really hung up on Elemental, it's just the kernel that worked for me in the past. At this point I just want this ROM to work.
It's not for m7wls did u update your firmware to the latest. Please post details to it.

Click on the link. Click 'View' under stock_6.16.651.2.zip. That opens a new page where you can click the little down arrow with the line under it (towards the top middle) to download. :good:

Mega isn't bad, I think. I use the app, they function pretty well. It's free storage and a file server, can't complain. Good choice.
Hi I was just curious if anyone else with Boost Mobile has gotten this update yet and if so if there where anyway they could maybe make and upload a zip file for download that contains the backup files that can be extracted to the twrp folder and restored in recovery? Thanks

There's really no reason to install any update if you're using a rom that's not stock because it's just going to revert back to 1.46 since the roms were made at that time. I downloaded and installed the 1.48 update and as soon as I put my other rom and kernel back I went to check and sure enough it reverted back to the 1.46 so you're just gonna be wasting your time.
Thanks for replying. That's the thing though I am actually using the stock rom. At the moment I have the 1.48 update installed with @pattyboi:) latest kernal.

If you really want the update just flash your stock kernel and then flash your stock recovery and then lock your bootloader and then the update will go through.
That's what I would prefer to do if I were able to but I'm actually stuck without a computer atm. I was just curious to see if anyone else had reserved the update and installed it and could possibly throw me a zip file with twrp backup files like someone had done previously with 1.48.

I'm on a totally different rom than stock so unfortunately I can't do it but maybe someone else that reads this later will help you out with it.
