This will work all on variants except the 64-bit version. I am currently working on getting 64-bit brought up.

I tried the Fastboot option from my phone... but it doesn't pick up on the TWRP zip. I'm assuming that I'd need a computer, then? Or am I missing something?

Can help with 64-bit
I live in Australia and am about to purchase this phone which means that it has the Snapdragon 410 built in. From what I have seen, that is what dictates that it is 64-bit, correct? If that is the case I will be able to provide pulled recoveries and whatever else the developers require if they include some basic instructions (I know my way around ADB, android SDK, etc.)

Great work as usual @jmz you did a great job on this one. glad it was twrp i prefer it over CWM, do you have a device tree available? i'm planning on starting work on the cricket variant for CM and AOKP soon as they release the kernel source........ Cricket is always last to have source released lol

Yeah its on my github. But its not really useful for anything. The kernel is modded to boot recovery. attempting to use it as anything else will cause problems. The current A11_CHL is wrong. So I couldn't even compile a kernel for CDMA folks.
The kernel source for the CDMA variant should be out, i think its under WWE on the htcdev site. i contacted HTC about releasing the kernel source for the Cricket variant. They are going to escalate it to the dev department. Hoping we have source code soon.

Yes its posted but the kernel source itself is wrong. It is missing everything for CDMA. All A11_CHL kernel source will be the same. You don't have to wait for cricket specific.

Let me know if you need help with anything, most of my experience with android is smali and kernel related, although i have built custom roms from AOKP and CM
I was able to unlock my bootloader, and subsequently flash the recovery and root my phone! This is AWESOME! My cousin brought over his laptop for Thanksgiving. So, thank you, jmz, and CurbThePain, for constructing the recovery and leaving off instructions for everything.
It's a lil suckish that I'm unable to go full blown crazy and debloat everything, or install Viper4Android FX, but it is still leagues better to have this rooted. Thank you guys!

Nevertheless I will try to fix it.... This weekend

Try this procedure ... First flash the cf auto root file for your device .. Reboot and you should get root access .. After that flash this recovery
I deeply request to you please send link to solve this problem. I think understand the my problem.
I've searched far and wide and can't find the info I'm after.
How can I find out if my bootloader is locked or not?
And can this method be applied to a locked bootloader or will it result in a brick?
How does the auto CF root method fare with locked bootloaders?
Does anyone know of a clean firmware that doesn't have any carrier applications and bloat, which can be put on the phone via Odin?
Does unlock via IMEI unlock the bootloader?
Thanks for any help

There's a difference between a locked bootloader and a region lock... A region lock will prompt you for a pin if the sim is changed .... And a locked bootloader means that you can't flash a recovery or ROM without unlocking it
This phone doesn't have a locked bootloader. ..

I suggest wiping in Advanced Wipe in TWRP, everything but the external sdcard, before you install every ROM
Go into the Downloads link and download cm-11-20141227-UNOFFICIAL-a11.zip, put it on your sdcard and use TWRP to install it
Download the boot.img also and you can flash that in TWRP
Look in the bottom right corner after you click on Install and change to Images... from Zips... to flash a .img
You can also use the fastboot method

Sorry my nervous, can you make ROM for 64bit version please? My phone is dead(
I was running an experimental version of CyanogenMod 12 on my 510 but didn't back up the original ROM because I didn't feel the need to. Now I want to revert back to the stock Telstra ROM, but I can't find it anywhere.
I was under the assumption that the kernel source available from HTCDev was the OS, but I soon realised that I couldn't flash it onto my phone because it's just source code. So what can I do with that? Do I compile the code into a kernel and flash it onto my phone? Will that give me the stock OS with the Telstra splash screen?

what kind of video that you need? its just a flashable zip, all you need to do is just to flash the zip or in simple " flash n forget"
Someone make a video tutorial. That will help everyone not to brick the device.

Maybe some community members can do video guides, possibly in other languages so people can better understand if anybody does make them, do share with us and I'll add a section for it.

This has as much chance of bricking your device as flashing a kernel in fastboot can.
I'll add this to the FAQ.
It's natural to be concerned about this, but in this case I'm sorry to say it's just ignorance. This is completely safe.
Back in the day when unlocking bootloaders and custom kernels were new, people were also afraid of bricks

Ok.. I will try this.
Issue
Hey cosmicdan amazing work..
I'm having an issue installing the zip.
No matter how many times I press vol up botton it doesn't accept it..
Vol down button works and it just exits..
Vol up button is working fine in the ROM..
I don't know if it's working in twrp.
I want to trebelize. But installer is not working for me..
Thanks again for the amazing work..
Uhm... After Treblizing and reflashing ROM I get:
Error applying update: 28 (ErrorCode:: kDownloadOperationExecutionError)
and then ROM flashing just fails...
That same thing happens even when reverting back... Help?
EDIT: I was able to flash stock ROM via Fastboot (on stock partition table) but I flashed the February Security Patch. It seems like it doesn't even want to update - says "Installation problem" on the OTA to April 2018
Sad story. Any ideas? :'(
Finally,
Thanks for supporting this great device.
Good job!!

Maybe it has something to do with A/B slots?

Wild guess, you might have to revert to stock partition scheme for ota to work.

Played with slots - nothing. Stock ROM works but doesn't wanna update. TWRP throwing me that error and I was only been able to find references of it in Chromium OS.
Any help?

Yup, already did that as I said - nothing!
Even mounting system as rw breaks ota.
Why you expecting ota to work after resizing system partition.
