So I just manually updated my unrooted T-Mo Nexus 1 to 2.2.2 FRG83G but it caused the News and Weather widget to constantly force close. I decided to do the factory reset with the option to backup my apps and settings to Google servers. Got all my apps back except for Slingplayer Mobile (the only paid app that i have). Searched for the app in Android Market and couldn't find it. After googling about this issue looks like Slingplayer for Android has had issues with the Android market in the past when new updates to Android come out(like with Froyo). Anyone else have this issue and is there anyway to fix this without having to root my N1? Thanks for the help.
This is probably more of a OS question than specifically a N6 question but I recently bought a N6 and I have a lot of apps I do not want to always update when I run updates in the Playstore. For example, on my old S3, I could disable an app from updating so it would ask me if I wanted to update it when I run "update all". It would start the updates but the ones I had disabled would specifically say do you want to update this and give me the option to "skip".
I have several apps I do not want to update when I click update all and manually updating 20+ apps at a time is annoying.
Thoughts on how to do this on the N6?

dont press update all, as that will update all of them. just update the apps you want to update.
If your N6 is rooted, you could try Titanium Backup to detach the desired apps from Google Play. It was working in the past but I don't know if it still does...

Rooted and I have Titanium Backup. I've never tried that feature before. Worked great!
I have the Gear VR for my Note 4 and today for some reason it couldn't see any of my apps.
The Oculus app also was playing up so I ended up uninstalling the Oculus app along with the Gear VR apps.
Basically plugged the phone back into the Gear VR and reinstalled everything that was removed. The Oculus app worked fine and when logged in could see my installed apps etc. So far so good....
As soon as I place my phone into the Gear VR, I get a screen saying 'LOGIN REQUIRED, Please remove the phone from the headset and launch the 'Oculus' app to login.
The problem I'm having is I AM logged into the Oculus app, just the Gear VR can't seem to see that
Does anybody have any ideas before I try a factory reset? I've tried clearing the cache of the Oculus app but that does nothing apart from making me sign in again..
Thanks,
Norm
were you able to figure this out? i'm having the same exact problem.
Having the same issue.
Hi guys. Sorted it out. My Oculus Home app was was the old version whereas the Oculus app was the new version. Uninstalling both apps was fixed was they reinstalled themselves.

That fixed it! In all of my troubleshooting I don't think I ever explicitly uninstalled Oculus Home. Thank you!
So I did the Note 8 update as described elsewhere on this site and due to some problems I ended up having to do a full factory reset. Now I cannot pair my Gear S3 though . it says "check if your phone is compatible and if the samsung gear app needs to be updated". What gives ? Is this something where samsung needs to update their Gear App , Or. ?

Search and read the oreo thread.
Got it now.. thanks.. I had tried some of that before but I had tried a legacy version of the gear app..
For anyone else that finds this later - The stock gear app from the Store + Samsung Accessory Service + Samsung Gear Plugin = Works - get the latter 2 from APK mirror as they still say incompatible in the play store..
I haven't updated my phone since day 1 in hopes that a bootloader unlock method may be discovered. I have been manually updating many APPs by going to the about page and using the update link there. There doesn't seem to be an about page for the camera though so I haven't been able to do this. I may have updated it once through Galaxy APPs but I think it was after receiving a notification. When I search Galaxy APPs there is no Camera APP shown.
No updates just for the camera, updates for the camera, if any, come inside the firmware updates

You can find some updated apps on APKMirror, as well. There's been a couple of Camera app updates, but I tried to install one, once, and it just failed, so I'm not sure if it's a compatibility thing or what.
