I am planning to unlock bootloader.Probably I need a code which is given by Sony .My question is that If ı get this code from Sony,ıs my device being out of warranty ?Maybe,in one stage I must enter my ımei number to get code,and technical service of my phone understand that I got this code ;so my device will never being in warranty.Am I right ?Later,If ı relock bootlader,ıs my device being in warranty ?
Relocking it won't be of help in how they view the warranty. Once they know its unlocked, be it by their site or other method, in which case the phone will either have a lack of DRM keys to show for it or possibly (likely) send them info about it over the internet, your device will be listed in their database.
If you're already unlocked, find out if your country's laws make their rules binding. In most places they are.

Did You see the thread aboud unlocking bootloader procedure? ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225&highlight=guide ) and warning ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481630 )? So, anyway... when You look at the guide there are some points for SEMC simlock certifacte and for setool2 simlock certificate. So what exactly You don't know?

Hi guys! Can anyone of you explain me what's wrong with my X10i? I bought the phone from Ebay. Despite the phone locked to Orange,it accepts any sim cards from the UK but unfortunately locked for foreigns (asks to enter sim unloking code). Twice's tried to be unlocked by IMEI unlocking code without success.The bootloader unlocked by S1Tool, SEMC LOCK CERTIFICATE present. Getting offer on connection to PC Companion to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. How to make the phone free to any network? Thanks.

Its 10W44, but bootloader seems to be already unlocked, the only SIM locked .How can I remove the carrier restriction in order to use my phone abroad?

I already unloked my X10i via wotanserver.com a few month ago but when I upgraded the firmware it got locked again. Any alternative option to remove carrier restriction?

So, I want to install Cyanogenmod on my XZ, using flashtool to unlock the bootloader and doomlord's expliots to root.
However, won't rooting first re-lock the bootloader? Or unlocking the bootloader remove root? Both things wipe the everything, so... Help lpease?
Whatever you do, be sure to backup your TA partition before you unlock your bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598. To do this, you first need to root your device without unlocking your bootloader.
Otherwise you will lose your DRM keys permanently and you will never be able to use certain functions (like Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2) anymore, not even if you relock your bootloader and restore to a stock ROM.
Please also note that by requesting a bootloader unlock key from Sony, the IMEI number of your phone gets blacklisted and your warranty is void.

Go to http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/unlock/step1. At step 2, you need to agree with the following legal terms before you can continue:
I acknowledge that use of the boot loader may void the phone’s warranty.
I acknowledge that, if Sony does perform any warranty repairs, Sony may charge a service fee for additional costs associated with the modified software.
So if a phone with an unlocked bootloader (or relocked bootloader) needs to be repaired, your warranty may be void, it's completely up to Sony to decide about that and they have the legal right to charge you for the repair because you agreed to those terms. If that's fine with you, you can continue to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom ROM like CyanogenMod. I myself would only consider this after official firmware updates have been discontinued.

Damn, so you say if i request an unlock key for my bootloader, but never use it. Do it still void my warranty. I mean, maybe some people change there mind after they request the unlock key and never use it to unlock the bootloader.

You should only request the key if you're going to unlock your phone. Sony has no way to check if you unlocked your phone and then restored a TA backup, so that's why they require you to register your IMEI number.

Anyway, if Sony refuses warranty, you could go to court and argue that you only requested the key, but didn't use it. Then it's up to the judge to decide if requesting the key (and agreeing to those terms) is enough evidence or not. However, I think most people won't go to court and just pay for the repair or buy a new phone. What I meant to say is: just be careful and think twice before doing such modifications
I think Denmark have pretty strict rules to protect the consumer, so I really doubt that Sony would get away with applying these rules here - but this definitely makes me not want to unlock the bootloader before I have seen Sonys 4.4 firmware.

That being said, I think Sonys stock ROM works really well.
I'm rootet, running SwiftKey, Handcent SMS, Aqua Mail, HD Widgets an Apex Launcher Pro. I get 3 - 4 hours of screen time on stock settings.
I have no reason to really want another ROM.
Had it been a Samsung or HTC device I would have needed to strip the device of all the bloat
ware and get rid the massive battery drain, caused by wake locks from the manufacturers ROM.

Hi have the HTC One Locked to Rogers, I had previously unlocked the phone as Im with Koodo. I purchased an unlock code and everything worked just find I was using the phone on the Koodo network for several months, then one day it lock up at the quietly brilliant screen after several attempts I was able to reboot the phone and same thing happened, again after a reboot it finally wouldn't power up. Needless to say I had to send it in under warrantied repair. I got the phone back and the main-board had to be replaced. I attempted to unlock the phone again via code just as I did before using IMEI, each individual states that a code could not be generated. I have rooted devices before but I'm no seabiscuit if you know what I mean and am not entirely sure to what extent I need to go to root and unlock the phone. Before anyone says anything about the rooting/unlocking i know this wont immediately solve my problem but if I have this access can I not find the unlock code in the phone once rooted in addition to other alternatives?. I appreciate any help you guys and gals have to offer.

You will need a new unlock code generated to sim unlock the phone. Has nothing to do with rooting the device. Unless you mean bootloader unlock??

I mentioned I had done this! Unlock code cannot be generated for this IMEI after repair. I am fully aware that rooting will not resolve this. However I will need to root in order to attempt an unlock of carrier via whatever methods are available once rooted such as using hex editor custom roms or whatever other methods are available. Again phone was unlocked via code previously after repair the main-board was replaced and an unlock code cant be generated apparently for the new IMEI.

I bought an unlock code twice, both times I was told that my IMEI could not generate an unlock code. The codes were bought from a reputable source. I was refunded both times. This phone was sent for repair they replaced the main-board. Prior to this repair phone was unlocked via sim
There is no way to unlock via rooting currently.
Perhaps wait a few months and the code may come in to system

Guys, i've been using many mainstream brands like HTC, Sony, Samsung, etc but im newb to Huawei.
For Sony device, im going to lose DRM keys for good after unlocking BL (not to mention backup TA) and many other features & functions like screen mirroring & camera quality degrade.
For Samsung, the well known Knox.
Im about to unlock my P9Plus but by reading this, quoted frm Huawei bootloader unlocking page, im abit scared of losing Leica image processing for instance.

Can anyone shed some lights?
I asked this before i unlocked my bootloader, as my previous phone was also a Sony.
I was told nothing would be lost, and from what i can tell, the phone still seems the same as it was out of box.
If you do notice anything, please let me know as well.
I haven't received any OTA update, but i can always download and update via SD-Card if i require.
Haven't tried playing any videos on the phone, besides ones that I've taken myself, but nothing i have contains DRM protection so I don't see any issues there anyway.
This is my 3rd Huawei Device after the P8 & Mate 8.
On all the devices I didn't notice any changes after unlocking.
how about screen mirroring & netflix/iflix HD. if im not mistaken netflix wont play HD movies if DRM is absent on device.
Hi, i wan't to temporary unlock BL only to de-brand my P9+. So i'll relock it after the operations. In that scenario, what happens to my warranty? If now I check the warranty status with Huawei services, i receive a message that the phone i regularly under warrenty until xx/xx/xxxx. If i unlock BL that message remains or will change in something as "NO WARRANTY..."

If you somehow already have the bootloader unlock code (e.g. from DCUnlocker), then the warranty displayed on the website will not void, at least on my Singapore's VIE-L29C636. But I am not sure through if you get the unlock code via the official EMUI website. Your bootloader's state will become "unlocked", and if you do relock your bootloader, it will show "relocked" instead of "locked". Read my post here to revert it back to "locked" state.

No, theres nothing you can do about that unfortunately.
When you get a phone from a network provider, it is likely the phone would not be allowed to have the bootloader unlocked. They request Sony to do that before they ship it out to them.
My advice next time is to buy it FACTORY unlocked. If you're buying an unlocked Sony phone secondhand online, ask the seller if it has been previously locked to a network provider before. If the seller not so sure, guide them to the service menu to where the bootloader status is. That's what I would do.
