My Trinity device is not recognized by any of my 3 pc's using any of USB ports. The problem started when I wanted to try a different ROM. I currently have 20070418_RUU_Trinity_LVSW_WWE_1.25.0.8 installed. I wanted to install img-32424-mUn_1_25_AKU3_5 but during the reboot after the ROM transfer the connection failed for the USB connection, after which I gave up and thought well let's try again and soft resetted the device. However I was never able to get a Active Sync session going again. The OS is still booting fine so I feel I am trying to fix something which is not entirely broken. I also tried the suggestion for flashing from SD card, but that did not load the TRINIMG.nbh file as I hoped (and read) it would. So I have a IR connection and possibly a bluetooth connection (I left my bluetooth module at work so I cant test this) Will this be my free ticket out of jail? Thanks for your input.
I seem to remember something about someone loosing USB connectivity after installing and messing with the GPS icon. This probably won't help but I would try in your case.
Start>Settings>Connections>GPS
Program Port>None
Hardware Port>None
Baud>9600
Check manage GPS automatically
Exit & turn phone off
Turn phone back on
Doesn't work?
You are no worse off
Works?
Reset hardware port to Com 9
Uncheck manage automatically
Leave program port to off
Set GPS software to com 9 9600
tried it, but didnt work.
Does the USB connection work in bootloader mode by any chance? (Hold the power and camera buttons down and reset with the stylus).
Try to delete the ActiveSync partnership on both the PDA and computer and then reestablish it ... it may have nothing to do with USB at all.
Problem went away after I forgot to turn off the PDA while it was connected to the wireless. It apparently didnt switch itself of because it was dead when I tried to turn it on. After charging it for a while I could turn it on, and as by a miracle the USB interface finally connected properly with my laptop. It didnt give the error "Windows has encountered an unknown device on your USB port" So thanks for all your input sofar.
I have issues when using DOOM to root my phone.
First off, to correctly connect the phone to the computer you have to go to "WIRELESS >>> USB >>> CONNECT TO PC. Now, if you have already checked the box to enable USB DEBUGGING another box comes up and says that you have to DISABLE usb debugging in order to use the "connect to PC" function. how the hell do you get around that? even when you connect to PC you get MTP initilization in the notification bar. When you pull down and click on it, it simply shuts the bar....... you cannot select anything.
Any ideas anybody?

Just got my Moto X4 and it won't connect to my car stereo via USB like it should. Bluetooth works just fine for the most part (it does blank out for a few seconds every once in a while), but I want to connect to AppRadio on my car stereo for better sound and functionality.
I have a Pioneer AVH X3800BHS stereo in my car that has an AppRadio mode that I'm trying to connect to through USB, but the phone has to be in MTP mode. I'm able to click USB settings and see the option for MTP, press that and the phone automatically talks to the car stereo for a second and launches the AppRadio app but then immediately reverts back to charging only mode.
Is there any way to force the phone to stay in MTP mode, or does anyone have any thoughts on what's wrong? I have seen that a lot of people have had issues connecting to Android Auto, so I wonder if the same issue is causing this.
Stuff I've tried:
different USB cables
USB debugging on/off (restarted phone after changing)
Uninstall/re-install AppRadio app
in developer settings- changing Select USB Configuration setting to MTP, PTP, RNDIS, Audio Source (i've tried all the options just to see if would work.. it didn't)
swearing at the phone
turning Bluetooth off
resetting car stereo
turning off fingerprint login
activating car stereo as trusted device
Btw, the phone connects to my PC just fine and stays in MTP mode.
I can't think of anything else to try unless there's a way to force the phone into MTP and somehow make it stay there!
Is this just not going to work until possibly the Pi update? I've thought about rooting and trying another ROM but would prefer to keep the phone stock at least for a while.
I've managed to get Android Auto operational with my S10 and 2018 Civic. Initially I had trouble with it but some info on Google that suggested it was related to the USB connection mode and it was suggested to switch to developer mode, enable USB Debugging, and then USB Tethering as the default connection style. This worked initially but for whatever reason is does not remember the setting. Even if I select it as default. Every time I remove the phone from the USB or turn the car off and reconnect I am required to pull down the notification screen, select, USB options, and reselect USB tethering.
For whatever reason my selection of making the USB tethering the default connection type is not sticking. It's a pain in the butt to have to reset it every time I hook the phone up in my car.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Having trouble with android auto connecting to my 2018 Audi S4. It's not the phone or the cable, works fine in other cars (Galaxy S21). Continuous loop of 'searching for Android auto' notification on phone. Tried resetting phone, bought the Motorola wireless android auto adapter. The only thing that seems to temporarily work is if I factory reset the MMI. Then it will work for about a month until it starts again. Doesn't matter if wireless or connected with cable. Any ideas? Haven't had any luck searching the internet.
