Relock Bootloader
Hello
is there any way to also relock bootloader?
Thanks
has anyone tried to unlock version S246 with this method?
Ok,I had not read all the way down the first post .
I tried this tutorial many times without success (in some reason QDLoader was disappeared).
But (maybe it will be useful for other members), after 6. step, without unpluging the phone and without doing 4. step again, i immediately press download in QFIL. This way was successful!

Sorry, there was typo in 6th step. It is just for checking if you have installed drivers correctly. (you can skip that)
is it working on S271 row ROM??
@Z953RR, worked for me.
how I can check if is bootloader unlocked?
edit: after click on download button, I have message waiting for reset done but phone is starting normally and after that I have message failled....
Download Fail:FireHose Fail Fail to find QDLoader port after switch
K... So this is the deal. It seams that I can't install Qualcomm USB drivers on Windows 10(or at least I haven't found a way to do so)... Anyone else had this problem??

Any error message or something? It was a long time ago when I did this, but you can try disabling driver signature verification.
DriverInstaller64 won't start at all. I even put it in Windows Vista compatibility mode - still nothing. I'm running Win10 64 bit ver.
---------- Post added at 09:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:16 PM ----------
this is is the message I get in qfill util after following all steps(is that normal or it didnt unlocked bootloader):
Reset Phone
Waiting for reset done...
Download Fail:FireHose Fail Fail to find QDLoader port after switch
Finish Download
I have this problem too. But I'm using Windows 10. Does anyone have this problem and was able to solve it? I'm stuck with a locked bootloader, without Gapps and I can't go backwards ou upwards in ROM version. The code *#*#8899*#*# doesn't do anything either, no new devices in Windows device manager.
I wasn't able to install the Qualcomm drivers either but the Qfile still worked for me. It seems some lenovo phones come with the drivers in the phone that automatically install when you connect it via usb
the qpst2.7 is not installing on my windows 8. wat can i do?

Try to install as an administrator or compatibility mode. Good luck

Hi guys, i was rooting my phone LG k8 using adp method get form here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-k10/how-to/friendly-root-method-lg-k8-k10-t3531223
but in the last step in the rooting part i noticed that the SuperSU archive didn't appear in the TWRP manager so i got no more choise than reboot. Now the problem is that after the LG logo appears the message saying "Your device is corrupt...", then restarts - logo - your device is corrupt - restarts - logo - your device .... well, a bootloop, is so anoying. I tryed to use recovery funcion of LG, but when it ends, phone reboot and the problem is still there: bootloop. I can't boot in fastboot mode or anything elese form the PC so i don't know what to do. How can i fix this problem? hope my phone doesn't become a brick.....
1. Download LG K8 firmware (k350n) here or here.
2. Download LG UP software and the dll for LG K8.
3. Boot your phone into Download Mode (hold Volume-Up key & connect the phone to your computer via USB).
4. Upload firmware to your phone (update mode).
Your phone should be reset and working, but not rooted...
I hope this helped
If you cant boot into download mode, connect the phone without the battery to computer. It will find 3 devices. then put the battey back and press volume up. You'll get to download mode. Download and install lg bridge. s. Restart pc. If your device is in download mode lg bridge will see it. Go to update tab, try it. If your device is up to date an option will come up after trying to update to the right of the update tab saying error during update. Press on it and then wait. It will download install and reboot.
Experiencing similar problem on my LG K8 (K350Z).
I've successfully rooted device using guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-k10/how-to/friendly-root-method-lg-k8-k10-t3531223
Later I decided to recover to stock KDZ, but did very stupid thing first - I've entered recovery mode (by pressing down+power, then down+power+up) and selected "Yes". After that green droid shown, and phone restarted, showing logo, then "Device is corrupt" message then off.
Starting it goes through logo"Device is corrupt" loop.
I've tried many suggestions to use LGUP and LG Bridge, but PC simply doesn't see the phone correctly.
Driver re-install didn't help much, it's still shown in Device Manager as "LTE Android MTP Device" with yellow exclaim triangle, but LGUP and LG Bridge can't connect to it.

When I select in LGUP it says "LGUP can't load the model[C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\com"
Finally! Resolved the problem. Looks like I've installed different driver versions and LGUP and LG Bridge in wrong order.
Re-installing everything helped and LG Bridge was able to flash the updated software version (V10f-AME-XX) and now my K8 works fine
Going to try post 2017 rooting methods soon.

I have all the files needed to setup sp flash and try to put again the Rom in the phone, which is now not unlocked and no usb debugging on.
Can someone please give me a tutorial on how to use those files? My phone still not recognised in sp flash com port, I don't know how to do.
If anyone will help me it will be so appreciated, thanks!
If you need to disable authorisation, did you run the MTK Auth Bypass tool and get the message "Protection disabled"? That's what I had to do before SP Flash Tool would flash the phone (without disconnecting it or rebooting), and I also had to set the baud rate to 921600, although that was all under Linux, and the phone was still unlocked.
it's complicated. with phone locked fastboot commands don't work. with my hold mi a3 fastboot flashing unlock command work. but with miui and mtk chipset probably it's useless. but u can try. if u boot into bootloader with mediatek driver the pc should recognize your phone also if it's blocked
1: Unzip this attached file into a folder. run it.
2: select the unlock bootloader and start, then connect you phone via usb with all three buttons pressed. (Phone must be off before connect, )

3: Your bootloader will be unlocked.
4: Close the program and re-start again, this time, select auth bypass and start, then repeat the phone connection. after at the bottom line, it show bypass ok.
from here you may flash again rom via Miflash or SPflash.
P.S: I think the file size is too big, I can not attach it here. Sorry! P.M me if you wish.

1. Check your device driver for USB, suggest you re-install the MTK usb driver.
2. First run the program, select the Auth by pass then press start.
3. Make sure phone is in "power off" state, press Vol+, Vol- and power (all three at the same time), and don't release it, plug in USB cable and wait.... Don't release these three buttons until it is Auth by pass OK.
During this process, take a look at device manager, there must be one item like portable device - USB ( Com 3). keep flashing.
sure u add reinstall mtk driver
Tried many drivers, always same result:
Driver says the device can't start. Tried to install lisbus too but no changes.

you "must" remove (uninstall) the driver first then re-install the MTK usb driver again.

try booting into fastboot, if not, boot into brom and flash stock miui via sp tool
open up device manager to make sure everything is right.
boot into brom by holding VOL-, VOL+ and POWER, at the same time connect the phone to ur pc. if it does the connected sound, check on device manager if the driver is missing. it should have a warning sign, if it does then install the drivers i annexed below the post (ive used them and it worked, up to u)
after installing them, by the meantime ur phone probably has restarted, so reboot it into brom once again and check devices manager. if it worked it should look something like this:

Let me try
indonesian rom is fully compatible. sure u made something bad.
your bootloader is unlocked???? u have downloaded fastboot version? clean flash selected? write al steps u did with precision. i'm 100% sure is not a compatibility problem. i have installed indonesian rom more then one time without any problems
IF U CAN ENTER INTO FASTBOOT, U CAN RESTORE YOUR PHONE WITHOUT PROBLEMS. stay away from advanced procedures like restore preloader. First try the easyest solutions. If didnt work i suggest mtkclient under arch linux for reflash boot vbeta and preloader. But follow my tip: enter into fastboot and reflash stock using adbdastboot tool. Is the easyest solution
I've already searched for it and can't find anything. The closest I've got is to installing the USB driver. I opened driver_install.exe and still can't find the driver in Device Manager. I have OEM unlocking and USB debugging on. I also have my MI account linked and the unlock folder in C:\.

Looks like problem is that windows is loosing connection when phone goes in Fastboot.

Maybe there are tools for Linux to do bootloader unlock?

I had the case with an Intel W10 PC, as soon as I launched Miunlock the device disappeared, I tried all without success but with an Amd W10 PC, no problem (sometimes it's the opposite).
There are other ways to unlock the bootloader but I don't recommend them (do a search), too risky, anyway if you have a driver problem it won't change anything.

Hi.
Bought this phone 4 months ago and it went into a boot loop, where it would only show the battery empty icon. Yesterday, I tried turning it on again and noticed, that it's stuck at the Redmi - Powered by Android" screen. From this screen, I can enter fastboot. See this video:
VID_20230417_194410.mp4
drive.google.com
I've read that there are a couple of options for reflashing this device:
- aks someone with the authorized Xiaomi account to reflash stock rom using the MiFlash tool (no bootloader unlock needed)
- put the device somehow into ETL mode and reflash stock rom using the MiFlash tool (no bootloader unlock needed)
I've tried contacting someone, who for #1, but they aren't willing to help, for some reason (I'm wiling to pay). For #2, I'd have to open up the device, which I'd like to avoid doing.
Would anybody know of any other options for fixing this?
Thank you in advance!
okay, which version of MIUI are you running?
first get the fastboot rom of the version your phone supports , i recommend the global version fastboot rom , because it works and its stable and u get your updates
download this fastboot rom first
Temporary file download page
miuirom.org
and I will give you the MI flash tool working version at like 6 hours after, Ill post the remaining steps after you download this , btw, you will get a .tgz file , when u download the Rom, thats the one you need

If you can boot into fastboot, then it is already enough.
Now, I suppose your bootloader is still locked
You need to download a MIUI ROM from "EEA", from any trusted website, and remember to download the "Fastboot" ROM to flash it (my favorite is mifirm.net, it downloads faster)
Install MiFlashPro - attached at the end of the thread
Open it up, and you will be greeted with this.
Click on the "Mi Flash" tab, as it is the only one we need.

You will be greeted with this window now:
After you have done downloading your ROM, extract it to any place.
If MiFlash does not recognise the directory you have extracted in, move it to C:\. Not any external drive, your main one
Now click on the "select" button box, go to your ROM directory, and simply select its folder
Boot your device into fastboot (PWR + VOL-), click on "refresh" button box and your device serial number should appear on the first line.
Now simply click "flash" and let it do its job for 10 to 15 minutes. It will reboot automatically.
If you dont succeed, please read this thread:

You will require BROM and to bypass and to flash via SP Tool.

You have either got confused, or being scammed
Newer MTK devices do not require the opening of the device. I suppose you have been probably confused with a Qualcomm Snapdragon based service, that does require the opening, so you can access EDL mode and flash your phone into life, or someone just put up the Redmi Note 10 5G and is a scam, also, on MTK, you do not need to pay for a authorized Mi account. On MTK, it is easily bypassable due to BROM
Thank you both.
I put ran MiFlashPro, pointed it towards the downloaded eea stock rom file and attempted to flash it, but got this error message:
So I presume this is due to locked bootloader? I'll try to follow the second link.
I actually managed to enter recovery mode and do a factory reset. Currently setting it up and plan on updating it.

Good to hear you got sorted. I basically bricked my phone last week (only 3 weeks old ) after trying to switch from MIUI 13 Global to EEA. I managed to get it into BROM mode and used MTK Auth Bypass which allowed me to use Chimera Tools to flash the phone again as nothing else seems to work with a locked bootloader. Currently running MIUI 14 with root and magisk optimisations (blur/high end tweaks, MIUI monet etc) and loving it! Just need a way to bypass Play Integrity API for Google Wallet
