Ever since lollipop came out, i have been having lots of issues syncing my exchange account to my Nexus 6 (same issue on my Nexus 5). The account will add and sync my email, contacts and calendar. After a short period of time (within a couple of days or hours), i will get an authentication error pop up under notifications. Although emails will continue to sync, all of the synced contacts will disappear from the phone. This is very frustrating and i have not had these issues with other android devices, only my nexus devices. I am hoping someone can help me out here.
Go into accounts, choose exchange account, then sync contacts

The biggest problem I met when using Captivate is the time for email sync. I have two accounts, one Gmail and one hotmail. Normally it would took 1-2 minute to sync the Gmail account, but for the hotmail account it always costs more than 5 minutes and sometimes after 5 minute waiting it showed "connection error" sign and I have to refresh again. I tried both home wifi and 3G network, and the waiting time is similar. I don;t know how your Captivate perform in sync emails. Is my waiting time common or I need to change some setting to improve the performance? Thanks!
Is your Hotmail setup as an Exchange account or a POP account on your phone? As of 8-30, you can now use exchange for Hotmail accounts and it will push emails to your phone. The only drawback is that it doesn't support HTML emails yet, just text. Search 'Hotmail Active Exchange' for the settings.

I'm running the stock ROM and have a corporate account syncing with Exchange 2007. A few days after setting up the account the calendar seems to stop syncing. I can modify and create new events on the server but they do not appear on my phone.
My google calendar still sync's, and K-9 is pointing to the same Exchange server for email and it's still receiving and sending email.
Removing and adding the account fixes this for a few days, but that's a royal pain. A co-worker with a Droid isn't having these issues.
Any suggestions?

Hey, I am having a related issue. I have a gmail calendar which syncs multiple sub-calendars, but only one shows up.
I have tried checking and un-checking these sub-calendars with no affect.
I'm trying out Touchdown for 30 days to see if it's worth buying. I prefer a unified calendar, but adding the Pure Calendar widget may make it a good enough solution.
I got my Note just a few days ago and I am getting to know it but I'm having a really stupid and annoying email problem.
I have an iPad and a Note and the same gMail account configured on both. When I get an email in the gmail account, the iPad gets it first EVERY time. If I test the email by sending it from my PC, the iPad will get the email in a few seconds. The Note always takes longer. Sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 20 minutes and occasionally, never at all!!
I've tried both the gMail app (which I hate) and the stock Samsung app (gmail setup as exchange) individually and both together and sometimes one will get email first and the other will get it 10 mins later!
I've also configured my wife's iPhone 4s to get the same emails and that too gets the emails exactly the same time as the iPad.
What on earth's going on?
I had a Galaxy S before the Note and that would get email at exactly the same time as the iPad, every single time.
Auto sync is on, email is on push for both email apps. Both devices are using the same gmail account.
Can anyone please help, I've completely factory reset my Note twice and the problem's still here.

Try this:
Set it up as an Exchange account like this:
enter user name and password
do manual set up
select Exchange
leave domain blank and /your user name as is
leave password as is
change server to m.google.com: 443
select push
Syncs just like any other Exchange account. Should receive everything at the same time.
Thanks. I tried this and it didn't seem to make any difference but I tried something else that seems to have done the trick.
I was previously syncing email, contacts and cals via the gmail account and not using the exchange account. I unchecked ALL the sync items on the 'normal' gmail account ie no contacts, no mail and no cals but checked contacts on the exchange account. Just to recap:
gmail account --> no sync for any items
exchange account ---> sync mail, contacts etc
selecting anything else to sync using exchange seems to have done the trick. It now seems to sync and for the moment, it's getting the email within a few seconds of the iOS devices. Few seconds later later though
Now onwards to tackle the sucky battery life...
Are any of you experiencing sync failures of your various accounts?
My gmail and google contacts usually sync correctly, but I have had a sync failure a couple times.
My Yahoo email account is through the native email app. It often syncs when it's supposed to, but is experiencing a number of sync errors where it just hangs up during the sync process, and then fails.
My office email account is through the Exchange Active Sync. It includes email, calendar and contacts. The calendar and contacts sync when they're supposed to, sometimes. The email has not synced since yesterday. It gets hung up when syncing and then fails.
It's Monday afternoon, now, and I've had the phone since Friday afternoon. Didn't start noticing these sync failures until late yesterday.
I've tried restarting the phone. That didn't help.
Thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Any help on this would really be appreciated. I'm stumped.
Yesterday afternoon, I removed my Exchange account and then re-installed. All worked perfectly until a couple hours ago.
Upon more careful attention, it appears that what's going on is that all parts of the Exchange account work properly except the email Inbox. Calendar and Contacts sync. Outgoing email syncs. But the Mail sync hangs-up with the turning circle and the Inbox will not sync.
I am having exactly the same problem on two different HTC One. Everything syncs fine except E-Mail. The only way to solve this is to remove the exchange account and add a new one. This happens when your Dataline is weak and switches around nothing-GPRS-Edge-3G or Wifi.

Try this: In Exchange General Settings set mail-size limit to max and sync-timerange to all. This setting is now working for over 3 days.
My Nexus 6 gmail emails are not showing as they come in. The account is synced but I am having to pull down in the inbox to get it to refresh and get emails. This is causing me to get emails late. Is this a lollipop problem??
Tried deleting the gmail account in Nexus 6 and reading the account with same results.
I am testing now in my ONe Plus One phone which is on kitkat with no issues and all emails coming in on time and showing notifications.
Exactly same problem I'm also facing..

Did you at any point install Inbox and used it to turn off notification from gmail?
Over the last few days, I've been having sporadic problems with inbox as well.
Easiest/best solution is to enable IMAP and SMTP on your gmail account, and use k9mail instead of gmail application.
I had uninstalled inbox but just reinstalled and gmail notifications are on. Uninstalled inbox again and only using gmail. Using my OPO till figure out issue. Can not be missing emails.
Thanks,
Ian B
