[ML2 Guide] Flashing ROM's on the ML2 SS 3.71

ML2 SafeStrap ROM Flashing Guide!
Hello Guys!
This is my guide for flashing most galaxy S4 ROM's on ML2 without custom kernel .
•First Root your phone with this method: Root On ML2 OTA!
•Then Grab the SS.apk VERSION 3.71 Download install th app, Open it and press on install recovery Safestrap in the app.
•After that download a 4.3 ROM (For now only 4.3 and 4.2.2 work...) and the ML2 modules from here: ML2 modules
•Reboot into SS and make a new Create ROM-Slot.
•As soon as the boot partition is done click install (If it is green) and chose your ROM and flash it and then flash the Modules.
•Reboot and all done!
Lets Say I chose Hyperdrive RLS15, So I root my phone, Input SS, and download the Hyperdrive ROM, then I reboot into SafeStrap and make a new boot partition flash the ROM and after Aroma UNcheck Reboot, then flash Modules and only then reboot.
If IMEI or WiFi doesn't work try my guide: Transformix's IMEI and WiFi FIX
BUGS: Camera FC.
CAMERA FIX? <Needs testers!
Camera Patch for ML2
Just boot into SafeStrap's TWRP and flash it!

Thank for for this guide. Quick question, I have Hyperdrive SL15 with the modules and att compatability pack but after doing everything step by step I don't have data or wifi. My question is, with the imie wifi fix you posted, will that affect my stock rom? I still have data and wifi if I run stock but not Hyperdrive. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I don't want to lose my data & wifi on my stock. My phone is my only online source.

Truth is that I really don't know. Flash the ML2 models again.
I would try for you but I left Hyperdrive because it was too mushy with lots of addons everywhere.
IF modules don't work I would flash the IMEI fix for ML2.

Reflashed ML2 modules and that fixed the wifi but not data. Weird. Anyway what rom are you running now? I'm just curious about the roms that work for the guide you posted. Thank you!

Maybe you need the apn's for your network check it ..
btw you dont get the camera working ..

I decided to run official Rooted with Busybox and Galaxy S5 theme.
I might make a rom with my theme in it for you guys.

Something flashable for us ML2 i537 guys without all the bloatware would be much appreciated.. Which official please

Yeah I got the APN and that got the LTE Data working and the camera doesn't work. I know that's an ongoing issue. I also can't seem to get mms to send or receive but everything else seems to work pretty good now. Sticking with stock until I hear what other roms people get working on this.

Menu and back buttons do not work on hyper drive 15?

Hi, I recently flashed Hyperdrive onto my S4A but had the obligatory cam bug as only issue afterwards for which your patch didn't seem to work with unfortunately.

hi @transformix i follow your guide and i flash a few roms all of them works but i couldn't make the camera to work . it is possible that i could flash 4.2 roms on the 4.3 bootloader? as i know from past experiences it could brick things and as im a newbie here i hadn't read enough yet to see if this could be possible im thinking about gpe rom as it at least no matter how old it is is aosp and it could make fell better than the crappy tw stock rom .

Does anyone have masterpatch they can share? Every thread ive been to ive been getting file not found when I go to download. ..any help would be greatly appreciated. ..TIA

I have installed supernexus 4.4.4 rom on i537 nh3.but my wifi is not working.i have tried masterpatch v2 but still wifi doesnt work.can someone help me?

I had the same problem and never got it working, had to restore my stock nandroid backup

I tried hyperdrive and never got that working fully either, so I'm still on stock. I hate this locked bootloader I've been searching on ebay for a cheap i9295 for a few weeks now

It's a problem with the nh3 baseband. I couldnt get wifi working, then i tried flashing from ne3 and everything is working fine now on supernexus

You flashed/stocked back to odin ne3 and then again flashed the rom. is this time wifi working ?

Correct and yes WiFi is working. The only issue is that if you want to turn off or reboot your phone, you have to turn off WiFi first, else it does not work properly when you not back up. However, even if you forget to do that little trick, a hot reboot fixes Wi-Fi. Otherwise, there aren't any issues with WiFi or in general

Is it worth to flash this rom? How is the performance? ? What about battery life? ?compared to ne3/nh3 and this rom which is the best?As I have seen that many gesture is not working.

I flashed this rom because I can't stand touchwiz (stock Samsung); I really wanted the look and feel of AOSP/stock android. The battery life isn't as good as stock with Galaxy Mod Ultimate (you can still use it, it's just the improvement isn't as noticeable). I'm not quite sure what you mean by gesture? This is an AOSP-style rom so all of Samsung's gimmicky little add-ins such as (but not limited to) air gesture, smart screen, all share, s-beam, s-voice, etc. are not present at all. I think it really comes down to a matter of preference. I have/had around a dozen devices, not all Samsung, and most are running cyanogenmod or something based off of it. Therefore I wanted this rom since it's the closest to cm we're going to get with a locked bootloader. If you like the look and feel of touchwiz or all the features Samsung adds in, or if you're super concerned about battery life, you might want to stick with stock. (Don't let the battery life be the only deciding factor, it's not that bad).

Honestly its a very efficient rom, most things seem to work however randomly for me some apps will stop working, however I believe that to be an app problem not a rom problem. I treat it as a sort of bare essentials rom, if you want a small rom then its worth it. I've installed viper4android and other root apps and those also work perfectly, I believed i flashed it about a week ago and everything is fine

Note 4 N910T3 , Root and WIFi Calling?

Hi everyone,
So I just got a new Note 4 about an hour ago, and now reading forums realizing that they are not all created equally.
Mine is T3 that came with 5.1.1.
Trying to root this thing, but unless I am missing something it looks like if you root you loose WIFI Calling?
Is there any method to root and keep the feature currently?? I already flashed twrp if that helps. WIFI calling is vital for me unfortunately(
The same time I obviously need root.
Please help!

My understanding from that thread is people lose wifi calling functionality if they flash that "Beast" kernel?

It depends. Just rooting alone will not make you lost WiFi calling. If you decide to install a custom ROM or Kernel then you just need to read the descriptions.

Not in this case unfortunately. Current root method for the newest firmware involves falshing specific kernel that messes up wifi calling

I am not sure if WiFi calling still worked when I was done because I never really relied on it ever, on first boot or in your case if you have booted already, turn on OEM unlocking, boot to download, flash the TWRP.img from the teamw.in site, download SuperSU and push the zip to the phone, boot into recovery and flash, it worked fine for me on OFC FW, did not try it on DOG FW because I was already in a rooted state by that time. I almost never rely on TW ROMs because I am a huge advocate of AOSP, however AOSP made my N4 do some weird things, so I will wait until there are a few more changes made before I decide to make the switch back.

Yes please! I don't really listen to music on my 817T but that would surely change if it were Viperized! There's a permissive kernel for your variant, isn't there? Have you done any experimentation?

Yes, V4A works great on the Tab S2.
There just is some "hacking" necessary - just follow these instructions, although they're originally for the S6, they work as well on our device:

I skimmed through the forums but couldn't really find any kernels for my device. I myself listen to music pretty much all the time and V4A just give the sound that touch that i really need to fully enjoy it!

I tried that method and another one but haven't had much luck getting it up and running unfortunately I will try that method again later and check back Btw could it have anything to do with me not using titanium backup to freeze adapt sound and sound alive? I've been using App Quarantine

Use Titanium Backup and EXACTLY do what's in the instructions. If you don't, don't whine that it doesn't work.

Okay I have been doing everything in the guide and triple checked. Did everything in order and freezed the apps in titanium backup but still can't get it to work
May I ask which version of Android you're running? I'm running 5.0.2 myself

I thought so. I have the SM-T815 RUNNING 5.0.2. It would seem that my model havent received the 5.1.1 update :/

Simply take one of the 5.1.1 stock ROMs available on the Internet. Will work just fine regardless of region.

5.1.1 hasn't been released for any t815 yet as far as I'm concerned and if I flash the t810 version I will lose Sim card function. Guess I will just wait for an official 5.1.1 update from Samsung and try again then.

Note 5 sm-n920r4 (us cellular)

Are there any custom roms tested for the US cellular note 5 with working 4g?

I flashed MOAR, it's an sprint based 6.0.1 custom rom, and its running perfectly in my n920r4

Do you have the link to the ROM you used? or the link to the forum that you had gone to. I have tried Moar ROM before but got crashed and random restarts.
Did you have to make any modifications at all? Kernel / API's anything?

I followed the instructions in the OP, I didnt had to modify anything, and my phone is running smothly. The only thing I've notice is some battery drain after I installed some apps. Now I'm going to try to flash n920p Nougat on it, wish me luck lol

I had no luck flashing n920p Nougat in my N920r4, I guess I'll have to wait until the official update. Did you flashed MOAR?

did you clean flashed it or dirty flashed it? I dirty flash it and never had an issue, even 4g/lte works on it.

Now, i can confirm that ROM from thread NAMED: ☆☆》》TELETEAM ROMS N5 & S6E+《《☆☆ by Slidder10 w , PARTICULARLY THIS S8+ 5.2 rom WORKS on N920 R4 US Cellular variant!!
All U have to do is: Install through Odin Stock 7.0, paste rom (S8+ 5.2) on Internal memory, install Nougat TWRP, do ALL wipes except Internal memory, Install Rom and enjoy with Note 5!! Great rom!!! This is Only and first rom(so far tested by me) that works without any modification on N920R4! And it is looks great, fast and without lags. Battery is so far same as on Stock(or closely to it).
