Failed to get to recovery - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So got an interesting issue
My c6603 has no usb port (broke)
BUT does have full root running existance and can access adb via wifi
The problem i have is i haven't used recovery for a while and wanted to upgrade to lolipop (ExistanceY).
If i reboot i cant get into it and there is no pink light
Using shell to reboot to recovery, a shortcut or adb also does not work. just boots up as normal.
Any ideas
I have tried reimaging fotakernel with TWRP but nothing. the recovery installers dont work either they either come up that they cant find the partition or doesn't have an image for the device or comes back as successfull
Another note, the phone is still on 4.4.4

Try deleting the contents of the sd card from within the rom setings. Obviously try to back them up first.

OK, flash a stock ftf on flashtool to repair it all and start again.
Or do a repair in PC companion if you have not unlocked the bootloader yet
tried that too tried flashing it loads of time still no fix

If flashing a stock ftf does not allow you to see the memory then it sounds like a hardware issue.
Have you tried pccompanion?
pc companion comes up with connection error i think internal memory is corrupted but i don't know how to format it. do you know how i can make my sd card primary so my phone can pick it first

Not sure. try taking out your external sd card and using a card reader to put a stock .zip rom on it and flashing that in recovery
recovery cause my phone to freeze when i try going into it
that doesnt sound good.
Let me think, but it might be a trip to the shop unless anyone else has any ideas.
What were you doing just before this happened?
thanks for your help i was installing a update .zip to get root but it froze halfway so i took the battery out and flashed with flashtool

ouch...You will have to format the internal card using adb commands, but I dont know if that possible without root, or without a connection to a PC or similar.
Sorry I cant be more help but this is not my area of expertise. Hopefully someone else will pick up this thread.
Best of luck to you...let me know how you get on, and if I think of anything I will let you know.
Greg
i can get root thanks for the information i will google adb format
woooohooooo after 2 days of going mad i finally fixed my internal memory by using a older version of cwm thanks alot for you help really appreciate it :good:

I'd use Sony PC Companion to rescue your system. You will loose all data but get a factory fresh smelling phone. And the next time install a recovery before doing anything. Best advice I've got here early on by Greg.

how buddy ?
Connect the phone -> start the Sony Companion -> click on whatever line appears there in blue under the phone name -> repair my phone -> follow the instructions.
After successful flashing go back to the forum for rooting your phone, for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472 .
Then install Clockworkmod Recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012738 . To my personal opinion, forget abt the factory backup software, don't bother with Titanium Backup. Use the Clockworkmod, it creates a complete mirror of everything in one. For backing up individual apps and data it's Helium (Play Store), or Android Tuner for advanced user.

Xperia Z1 soft-brick or hard-brick?How to fix?

Hi everyone
So just to let you guys know i have also searched the internet for what i am about to ask you.Including this site.I have had many good pages on this website to try and help with my problem. But sadly with no luck,my issue was different.so that when i decided to finally create an account to get some help and hopefully help others too!(which i doubt). So now to my problem.I have a sony xperia Z1 and had rooted it using the king root app and then used the command to replace with super user. All was well and good until i tried to do duel recovery.i feel thats where i mustve messsed up.I am sure my boot loader is locked but the file i used was a version that worked with a locked bootloader.so i installed it via connecting my phone to the usb and use some software to install.Sorry i thing i must have forgot what i used.Hopefully that is not important.all went well and when my phone restarted it went staright to twrp.I decied to wipe cache and data inc internal and dalvic cache. But when i restared all i got was the sony logo frozed.Nothing would happen.i would try entering recovery mode or flashing mode or what ever you call it by pressing vol up and power. All this does it makes my phone vibarate 3 times but thats not the prob;em as normally i would presume the phone is off but no its not as when i put it on charge it comes on with the logo and all.but when i connect to my pc to try and reflash nothing.i have tried using xperia flash tool but when i follow the instructions nothing happens.and to be fair i dont even know wif i followed them righ as for all i know my phone could be off.i attempted pc companion to try and sort it out but it dosnt give me an option to reflash.only upgrade and when i do press that it says i must remove my battery and sim but i cant.i am worried if i leave it on charge it will turn really hot cuz thats what i done for like an hour and it was extremly hot.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Flash
Just Flash stock Lollipop with .Ftf format by flashtool (flashmode), you can find everything on XDA.
