Now that n6 for tmobile has wifi calling is there anyway to port this to moto x 2014? I suspect no as I BELIEVE its a modded radio file that allows it to work but not sure thus why i am asking
No one? No one knows or just no one is interested?

I would put this in the general forum as I don't see why it is in the themes and apps forum.
Xda has been trying to port the wifi calling feature for years with no success. It's baked in at a very low level.

Just wondering when we'll possibly see some t-mobile based custom roms for our device now that it is stateside. There are areas around me that still only get edge/2/2.5G so I really don't like sacrificing Wi-Fi calling or mms/sms. Just really hoping we will see some ppl develop modded tmob based US ROM so those that utilize their Wi-Fi calling and such can continue to. I'm a willing tester as I do not believe I am going bback to Samsung after using this. Only thing drawing me towards the S4 is the fact that there are more US devs making ROMs with tmob base. I'm within my satisfaction period, but honestly would like to stick with this device if development is on the way for us US folk that utilize the WiFi calling & communications

I'm also a us tmobile z owner and I'm scared that were not gonna see any real development, because in reality it's a old phone, just not to tmobile, most developers that wanted it already bought it unlocked so they have the unlocked bootloader, also now the z ultra and honami are gonna take the spotlight, I love the phone but I'll say if your looking for development the s4 and one are Def the way to go,I use all 6603 stuff but don't need wifi calling, have you ever thought about Google voice or other similar things,u know it sucks but I don't think we'll see many options

Only a short period of time left. I want to keep this phone, but if we're not getting 4.2.2 from T-Mobile or current custom 4.1.2roms it's pointless because I need my Wi-Fi calling and Google hangouts(replaced talk) doesn't do the job. Sad faced. I. Don't care for HTC and have had Samsung since preandroid

No one can really answer this,I think there will be no development from the community, however I am sure tmobile will update to 4.2 but it will be months, come on the one is still on 4.1

Did some more outside research and am about to call and verify with Sony. First talked to friend that was a mgr with me and still.is through tmob. It appears Sony is working on 4.3 for our device and skipping 4.2.2 for our US C6606 device. I guess that is acceptable as long as the wait isn't too long. Guess I'll possibly just develop my own 4.1.2 to retain WiFi calling and release for other fellow US Z owners.

I've ordered a Moto X Developer's Edition. I'm a TMobile customer. While I expect I'll be using the pure Android OS that presumably is installed on the Dev Ed phone, I'm thinking I may want to add a few TMo features (wifi calling, visual voice mail) and maybe even at some point try the TMobile OS in its entirety (Sense 5? I dunno).
WIth my trusty HTC Sensation, which is a TMobile-issued phone, I've enjoyed being able to switch back and forth between pure Android and full-fledged TMobile Sense 4.x (and now even a preview of Sense 5), depending on my mood. I've also used a number of hybrid ROMs that incorporate some features of TMobile's custom OS. All have their advantages and disavantages, and I like to ROM-hop.
So, my question: Are there people out there who are stripping off desirable TMobile applets or are otherwise modding ROMs for use on a Moto X DevEd? I know nobody does this for the money, but I'm someone who likes to donate to these talented folks, btw.
Thanks.
This post is cute. T-Mobile doesn't make sense. HTC makes sense ui on all their android phones whether Verizon at&t or any other android phone carrier.
Moto is stock and that's all. Check android development section if there are any custom ROMs.
As far as their apps Google for them. I have visual voicemail on my nexus and the other T-Mobile app to make plan changes on the fly

Visual Voicemail is available on Play. WiFi Calling is not available on any phones not officially sold by T-Mobile, so there's no WiFi calling on the X.

Oh, yeah. I use ROMs with Sense so seldom that I forgot that it was HTC and not TMo.
(I might as well come clean here: I'm an old geezer. Just don't ask me who the president of the US is or what day it is.)
Thanks for the clarification.

Thank you for the clarification. If anybody figures out a way to get wifi calling on a DevEd phone, please holler.
It's easy to do WiFi calling, just not with the T-Mobile app on the Moto X. I use an app named GrooveIP and a Google Voice number. It is a different phone number but that could be an advantage or a disadvantage.
This may be a dumb question and i feel like a complete noob asking it but........... .....
I bought a Nexus 6 from Moto and had it activated on VZW before VZW
had it as a phone (which may not matter).
I want to ROM my phone, and i am use to seeing a separate thread
for each Networks' phone (att, vzw, tmo ...etc)
So essentially what do i need to know about ROMing
the nexus 6 activated on VZW?
(Also i know I'm late to the ROMing game on this phone
but i guess its better late than never)
Thanks!
All nexus 6s are the same. You can flash any rom your heart desires
I do believe that some carriers have made specific ROMs for the N6 because of small tailor made features, T-Mobile for example baked on so that nexus 6 phones on their network could turn on Wi-Fi Calling

Do you recommend any as far as customization?
That's up to what you want in a rom. Look at the features of each one and decide for yourself on what looks like you would want.

yeah ill stop with dumb questions.
Thanks!
I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. I used to own the LG G2, which was the first phone I ever flashed a custom ROM to. I flashed a ported version of LG's G Flex ROM to my G2 and absolutely loved it. It came with this feature that I'm not sure if it was a G Flex feature or a custom added feature by the dev (and unfortunately I don't remember who the dev was) but during a phone call, next to all the typical "mute," "keypad," etc options was a "record" feature. It worked flawlessly. The audio quality was fantastic for both the caller and myself.
I'm looking for a good custom ROM for my Nexus 6 to hopefully increase battery life. I was wondering if there is any custom N6 ROM out there that has a built in record call feature. Does one exist out there?
edit* question asked in Noob Q and A - mod please delete. Thank you and sorry lol

Hi VZW G2 fellows,
To make it clear I don't have a VZW G2, but I do plan to purchase another VZW LG phone which, like G2, has the damn limit on hotspot. I intend to use hotspot with a foreign SIM card and not with VZW's tethering plan.
I saw a lot of threads about modified HotspotProvision.apk's that allow you to bypass the limit, but all of the threads only offer APK's for download, none actually tells us how the modification is achieved. Since the device I'm looking to purchase is very unpopular, I reckon I have to do the modification myself instead of relying on a pre-modified APK. I do have APKTool and Virtuous Ten Studio experience, and have modified some APKs for personal use in the past, so technique is not a problem.
Can anyone share how it's done if you happen to know it? The phone in question is running KitKat, if that matters. Thanks in advance.
Bump. Even an Xposed solution would be nice.
I actually tried decompiling a modified APK and the original and see the difference, but there are so many I can't be sure they're all required if I apply them on a different phone...
