Kingroot with greenify - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hey everyone, whoever has rooted with king root and used greenify with root access. Let me know the results you guys have been getting in terms of battery life. Hoepfully it has increased.

Sorry nerco posting.
Kingroot is bassically Greenify+Superuse to me.
It stops autostart just like greenify 'hibernate' them. Dont stop playstore though, if you want to install using it.
I have both on my phone. If you stop an app from auto start, it wont show up in the "recommend to be hibernated" anymore, so using both isnt really that good.

I am not sure you need to freeze it. I had a rooted Arc before, and used Android Assistant to stop apps like this starting up. The real benefit of it is you can block all the listeners' every app and service has. The listeners are what makes it pop back up again when you have killed it (like WiFi sharing does, and &*^% Social Hub & Buddies!).
Used with the start up kill as well, you have a clean fast start, more RAM, and more battery. The price is zilch too, although I recommend buying it just to support it. What's not to like?
Edit: It is autorun that stopped things loading, and listening to events. Android Asst just prevents loading on boot.
Install Titanium Backup or AntTek App Manager and freeze it/them. I've done it myself.
And how to do it with antek application manager

1. You must be rooted of course
2. Open the app and hit the "Apps" tab
3. Search for "Wi-Fi Sharing Manager" and "Wi-Fi Sharing"
4. Tap on it/them and choose "Freeze"
5. Done!
Thank you very much

Is this the only way to get rid of this? I think this is also the case for my bad battery performance as well. So, no way to stop it or kill it without 3rd party software?
Nope, it's a system process, so you'll need root to freeze/delete or do anything about it. If you kill it manually using a task manager the process with start again within seconds.
How long should it take? I'm using Titanium Backup-Pro, been sitting on "freezing Wi-Fi Sharing manager 1.0" for over 5 minutes.
Sorry noob questions, but...
What is the benefit to freeze those apps?? What is its purposes? What would be the cons?

When you freeze an app with Titanium (or some other system app manager), the system doesn't see it anymore. It's still there, but out of action until you defrost it.
It's a useful feature to experiment with temp shutting down of system apps - if you see that something is wrong, you defrost it, and everything's fine.
If you uninstall it, OTOH, if something bad happens, you're stuck.

If you mean "why freeze those particular apps?", then the answer is that if they are not used, they are just wasting battery and RAM by running. This is true of a large number of built-in apps that Samsung, and indeed carriers, put on your phone for you.
These particular ones serve no purpose for 90% of users [sorry, needed for Kies air, disregard], so are best stopped. Even if you do use them, they are best prevented from starting up until you want to use them.
freezing wifi sharing and wifi manager will cause kies air not working. unless you never used kies air and planning to freeze it too then i think it should be ok
I want to ask WHAT THE HELL IS THAT WIFI SHARING APP?! How can it be so badly done... I mean it's killing battery as once launched it never stops. I just can't get it...
And that's why we freeze/remove it If you don't use Kies, then get it over with and kill it (the permanent way)

Fact is, after i froze them (all social hub) wifi sharing came and freezing it didn't change anything, it was still running from boot!
Freeze both wifi sharing and wifi sharing manager.
It will not come back after boot. Tested on 2 S2s and a Note.

I use Autorun manager to disable all the 'listeners' that these apps have (one is for boot). This is in many ways better because I can still use them by actually running them, but they do not start by themselves.

Push-Ads with Zeus Rom

Hi,
this morning I received 2 Push Ads for some battery related stuff.
For some this may not be that surprising, but I've been using the OB for over a year now and have never received a single push ad with the apps I was using. Now, after playing with Zeus as stock replacement for a couple of weeks this happened and I want to eliminate the root cause of this as soon as possible.
I'm currently using Zeus v3. Does any app (or the rom itself) cause Push Ads? How can I find out which app is causing this and turn it off?
Thanks,
jo
Yes,some app can send you push ads
Check a task manager app to see the running background apps (which you've installed)
Try to kill 'em and don't open till you get another push app, then check the task manager app again to conclude which app that send you those ads
Delete or use firewall to block the apps from using the internet

That's the first time i great about push apps on Zeys ROM. And I use it from when it started.
As suggested put firewall and see which app is the culprit.
Plenty of apps that can do the job on the market.
Me too! Its my 1st time to receive such thing. Im at zeus v3. I thought it was just a txt message. Whats bad is i don't know where it came from. No OS should allow such thing.
I've found the push ad that showed again this morning. It says "Turbo Boost Your Battery?" I'm not allowed to post URLs yet, but if you search for "airpush - Is this red star icon malware? How to get rid of it", you can find a description.
So it seems to be an app that uses AirPush. I've tried the "Addons Detector" app but it did not show me any app that uses AirPush (only those using AdMob, AdSense, AdMarvel, MOcean,Millenial, MobClix, AdWhirl, or InMob).
Is AirPush the only ad network that uses push notifications?
Since I haven't installed that many apps since I installed the zeus, it can't be that hard to find out which one it is. I froze the apps "BetterBatteryStats" and "BatteryCalibration" with Titanium Backup now since they are apps that I did not have installed prior to zeus and will see whether the push ads reappear.
Next in line will be "ConverterPro", "FasterFix", "GPS Status", "Rom Manager", and "System Toolbox Free".
Jo
yeah me too every single day but it written: "Download Free Burn The Rope App... blablabla..."
I dont know is it from zeus or app from market that I've installed... oh and again... I use GPS Status too... or maybe the ad. from GPS Status app?
Install this app
Do a scan
Then uninstall the app with airpush
nikpik, thanks for the tip. AirPush Detector did in fact find an AirPush app that the other app ("Addons Detector") did not detect.
It found "System Toolbox Free" to be the culprit, which I installed after Zeus in order to fix some GPS related stuff if i remember correctly. I haven't been using it for quite a while now, but it had some updates recently that probably included this great feature.
and gone it is...
I installed almost all airpush detectors and all failed to detect it.
The add is "king fighter II"
not from the rom.... ive not encountered any at all
also not from the "battery calibration" thats included in zeus im pretty sure about that....
try freezing and unfreezing the apps that youve recently installed one by one if detector apps fail to locate.... =)
for me it was a wallpaper hd app...airpush helped me...thx
Next time do not slander Zeus rom whether you are not sure what's the source of the ads. It's misleading and mudslinging.
This rom is the best rom for our phone(in my opinion), it's a way better than lg stock rom.
you can also use adFree (need rooted phone) a free program from market that can disable all ads on your phone. i use it and i don't see any ads on any of the free programs i have installed.

SGN display turn on by itself

Dear friends! I need your kind help in answering the question why in screen lock mode, SGN screen turns for a second and turns off. It is not really a big issue for me, but sometimes when the phone is on the table it annoys already.
I thank you very much for your support!
Yours Fernando
Some app like weather widgets have options to wake phone up for some activities. Check your installed apps for this kind of setting and clear.

It could be an incoming SMS or phone alert, or an alarm...
Do you install any android apps which allow your note to be remotely controlled?

Thank you for responding! Actually no, I do not have any installed apps that remotely control the note. I thought about it, but guess there is no such apps.
Uninstall any suspicious apps you have installed ,or better yet root and install ad free ,air push ,and other ad checking apps on the market.
Then uninstall anything that gives you ads.
It happened yo me on my S2 before ,it's always an app that I installed keeping the phone from entering deep sleep thus causing battery drain.
Now adays I only install what I absolutely need.

[Q] Using Root to remove Google Text-to-speech Engine

Hello guys, I am using Pebble watch, which requires the Accessibility mode turned on.
Due to a bug, The TTS always keeps announcing "Page 2 of 4", "The folder is Open/closed"...
I am using a "TTS Stop!" app to quickly kill that process, but its only a temporary measure.
Since Samsung is never going to fix the problem, I want to remove the Google TTS (and Samung too if possible).
I tried to rename the APK in /system/app, but it still works even after reboot.
Please advice, how to REMOVE the damned app?
Thanks!
Use titanium Backup to freeze or uninstall tts
Thanks, your suggestion worked!
Not only that, I think it actually speeds up the phone, which is already lagging badly and begging to be replaced...
Any other services/stuff I can remove to make it work faster?

I would say uninstall apps which you don't usually use.

[Q] Does the Battery Doctor works for you ?

Whenever I use this app **** it doesn't work properly, here is some bugs:
The widget is ****ed up! You click on the bottom and it says it closes 6 apps, the turn out: it doesnt close any ****. My apps keep running, and on settings I configure it to close way more apps than 6. but doesnt work..
Properly configured I go to optimize to close 42 apps. Ok, I know some of them are from android and android properly blocks that even though Im rooted and I grant the permission.
But some apps don't even close.. like facebook, cleaner...
Do that on your own. Close the apps with the Battery doctor app then go check apps that's running, and they will be there!
What is happening ?

Test DU Battery Saver is best
keeps running...
Also, DU doesnt have the lowering CPU usage function --'
I personally use Greenify (non-root) with Automated hibernation enabled. Works fine for me and keeps those apps that sick the battery hibernated. I've not used Battery Doctor, and possibly won't since it sounds like some of the malware I remove off client unit's at work.
Battery "saver" apps usually end up doing the opposite... Wasting.
Except Greenify, when used properly. ?
Just my 2 cents.
Also, no need for the language... This is an all ages site remember. ?
