Just wanna know how many people are happy with this phone and keeping it.
Vs
Returning it.
Besides the obvious bugs/screen etc.
I like it but I don't love it but not enough to return it.

Love it. Keeping it.
Keeping it fersure... getting 10megabits down with 6/up. snappy and fast... rooted here.
came from a droid incredible with a dope rom from skyraider... I was running for 36 hours at a time with no kernel changes or undervolt... so my only complaint is the batt life sucks in comparison.

Welcome to 4G. Its not the phone its 4G that sucks your battery. I will say this; The bionic is by FAR the best on battery life compared to all 4G phones on the market right now.
I adore it. I came from a Moto Droid that had a display that died on me, so I was waiting for this.
Yeah, the screen's pixels are a little annoying at times, but other than that its speeds are INCREDIBLE, the new motoblur or whatever it is called now isn't obtrusive (the phone is actually fast enough to run it where it is actually attractive), and best of all it feels great in the hand.
Also, the extended battery's replacement back for the phone doesn't add that much width to it, making it a really good purchase. Shame none of the cases they had in stock support the extended battery.
One thing that I think people ignore when writing about new phones is the sound quality, and many people I have called are astounded when I tell them that I'm on a cell phone. I was on the highway going 60 mph with the windows and roof open, trucks all around me, and my dad thought I was on a landline when I called him. However they made the microphone, they got it down perfectly.
Now, I *NEEDED* a phone because of work, so it isn't an option to wait for the Droid Prime or the iPhone 5. Am I happy with the Bionic? Absolutely. Would I have waited for an even better phone if I could have? Perhaps.
I feel like when phones come out, they are outdated within a few days unless it's an iPhone. Eventually you have to bite the bullet, and I think that the Bionic is the best bullet I've ever bitten into!

Yes the sound quality is superb. I don't sound like a robot coming from tb. My battery is awesome. From 630 to 12 only down 30% moderate use and that's alot. Glad that some peeps are happy.
Ill love it once I root this bad boy and get things going but man in so scared scratching this phone lol out of all th phones I've own this is the mother load of trying not to get it nik or so. It's so shiney and im ocd. About my phones lol. The case I got was from Verizon its that double layer case with ruber and hard screen and I like that.

I also love my Bionic, having upgraded from the Droid I. The only thing which I think it's missing is a widget to turn on/off the 4g. Other then the already mentioned 4g battery woes it's awesome.

CM7 on the Tbolt has a toggle, but ya, I can see this as a pain on this phone. However, if you are using 4G - try juice defender. When the screen is off it will turn off data (and you can have your data turn on however often you wish to check for new data etc).
Highly recommend it.
I had to charge my phone yesterday twice. I went about 1.6hrs on the original charge then fully charged it. With heavy use it needed a charge around bedtime(2130). Today I got it off the charger at 0530 and used it heavy for about 40 mins, then barely touched it and it's at 70%. I have juice defender and it set to CDMA only. I do not like the battery life so far but I has ATK on it. I took it off and will see how it goes. I think the task killer is more harm then good.
Does anyone know the battery life with 4G turned off?
No 4G at all in my state yet, but our area should be getting it this year.

Yeah and I would imagine there is a lot of bloat that can be removed with custom ROM's or tweaking CPU settings.
//oops.. double post.
I am so temped to say forget and go back to old faithful.... Ip4. I can go like two entire days on a single charge. I admit I have never used an android phone without the ATK. Maybe that's my problem.....
I like it coming from two Htc phones. Im only having an issue with the vibrate sounding really annoying like its broken and the battery only dropping by the 10's. It dropped from 100 to 90 then to 80%. Nothing in between. Im on an extended battery and seems to be doing okay so far.

Myself as well. My only complaint is that with the extended battery it makes it feel like I'm holding a brick when compared to regular battery, but that's a small complaint considering how well the battery performs... It's just how thin the device is when compared to other LTE devices with regular battery...
Rooted in seconds and im really happy with it now. Just make sure you update the bb binary once rooted. It makes a hell of a difference imo

After freezing all att apps, and switching to nova launcher with 3 screens, no widgets, and killing all apps after im done playing games or whatnot, i have been averaging about 3.5h of screen on time, and being able to go 14+ hours on one charge with pretty good use with about 20 percent still remaining.
Does that seem par for the course?
Yup seems about right with the stock battery. I'm really considering doing the battery mod lately.

yeah, coming from a htc one x, the battery life without a different kernel, and oc/uv and major tweaks makes me feel like i have to tiptoe around or else battery life just takes a dump. Everything else on the phone is amazing, that battery mod looks really tempting :/

atrix hd or one x

One x far and away. i could almost go 2 complete days on it, and there are loads of tweaks, to go with the already tweaked roms to help it along even further. i have a ss somewhere of getting 4.5h screen on and i wasnt even using smart actions or juice defender. if your not adverse to roming and tweaking, get the one x.

I'm using the Droid 3 on At&t along with the $10 MediaNet plan,it's a downgrade for me coming from a Galaxy Note i717 so my objective is to save money since I dont feel like paying $30 for a At&t data plan.
I'd like to get another slider phone but the Droid 4(plus it still doesnt work on domestic gsm networks) doesnt seem like that much of an upgrade and the Photon Q GSM hack seems too complicated.
I might just stay with the Droid 3 indefinitely and get a Nexus to replace my iPad and give me my Android fix.
I really wish there was an official version of ICS for the Droid 3 at least,oh well.

I just moved to the Galaxy S4 from the Droid 3. I have always ha slider keyboards, so I was worried about how I would do with out it. I haven't missed it at all! Don't miss my Droid 3.

What is the battery life like? I'm a couple of months from my upgrade date; I'm thinking of either the S4 or the Razr Maxx HD, mostly for the huge battery, though I'm worried about the age of the device and it's possible upgrade future going forward...
I am a medium user. Email, text, web most of the day. Battery is great. I unplug charger when I get up at 5:30am and battery is usually at 45% when I go to bed at 11pm. Usually on Wi-Fi at work and at home. Love the phone.

I'm not a fan of large screen devices so I'm waiting for a few smaller devices that are coming out sometime this year, the Galaxy S4 Mini, the HTC One Mini and the Motorola X Phone. I've given up on QWERTY devices since they don't really make them anymore and I've gotten used to soft keyboards.

That's pretty much what happens with my Droid 3 with the extended battery right now, same WiFi connectivity for me. The wrench in the works is that when I'm in a bad signal area - and I am for a good part of the summer (with no LTE, either) - my phone will end up at about 25% by the end of the day at best. And I understand that the Samsung radios are not as good as Motorola's, so it may be even worse...
So, that sort of battery life is a bit discouraging.
Radio seems strong. I have a really good signal and its lightning fast. Too bad about your signal area. I have had the phone off of charger since 5:00 this morning. It is now 10:00pm. I am at 60%. Pretty consistent use today.

Ok, sounds good. I'm sure that I'd find a way to make that work. My use case is I think close to what you described, and I'm already altering some things when I know I'm in a bad signal area.
I'm thinking about getting the Xperia Z but I'm still waiting to see if Moto releases a Droid 5 (which I highly doubt they will)
Not another Motorola again. The Droid 3 was my first Motorola and it was the WORST phone I ever had. Random reboots multiple times a day, keyboard that just decides to go AWOL on me, locked bootloader. Never again.
The Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere 2 looks interesting though.
If they release the HTC One for verizon, that is my next phone. I want to stay with a slider, but the D4 is too old already and will be at EOL soon.

Thanks to the data plan changes by Verizon, I'm tied to 3G for a little while until I'm making more money. I tend to go through 2 or 3 phones in a 2-year stint, which means I would need to buy one through them in order to have the protection plan.
I've enjoyed my phones with physical keyboards, so hopefully I will have an option when my contract is up.
I'm waiting for Motorola's Project Ara to bring something to market, hopefully with a physical QWERTY option. If my Droid 3 fails me until then, I will probably go for a Droid 4, but under no circumstance am I considering any touchscreen-only device as an acceptable substitute.
The only way text input interfaces could get more usable for me compared to the physical keyboard is if they made a neural interface that could translate thought directly into text. This touchscreen-only nonsense? Just an episode of temporary market insanity.

It's not even the accuracy for me, I just can't stand being forced to give up on continued visibility of the page I'm replying to just because the damned "soft keyboard" has no other place to get itself displayed except all over the content I'm trying to interact with.

I have both, trying to figure out which I'll keep. Probably staying with the G4. I love the screen and speed of the N6, but the G4 is just a lot easier for me to carry without falling out of my shirt pocket and looking like I'm carrying a book in my pants pocket. They're both awesome devices. The battery life on the G4 is a little better.

We picked up the g4 for my wife about a week ago. She had an HTC m9 and she did not like it at all so we went with the g4. You can take advantage of the free SD and free extra battery + charger promo from LG as well (ours is otw [emoji14] ). All in all it's a pretty sweet phone. It's very fluid, nice screen, surprisingly good feel in the hand, the camera focus is ridiculously fast and the camera UI is a delight. I'd have to say the battery life is a bit lacking. Granted we have different usage styles but I'd say I'm a fairly heavy user of my phone but I end there day (8 am - 7 pm) at about 20% give or take. She rounds out the day at 5-15% and with the occasional quick charge in the car or at the office.
It's definitely a more compact phone and for anyone shopping around for a smaller phone with an SD card and removable battery this is the phone to get.
How it stacks up to my Nexus 6, I'd have to pass on it. I'd love an SD card and I'm indifferent about the removable battery. While the G4 is fluid, and it is, the nexus 6 has been a delight. Not without its flaws, screen brightness in direct sunlight being the main flaw that comes to mind.

I have both and I switch between phones daily. I love the g4 but the freedom of a nexus phone is just unreal. I think if the g4 ever gets unlocked and root which it seems like it will. I wont be switch so much. nexus phone is way smoother right now though due to LG software and bloat. Screen is nicer on LG though
Which phone feels snappier/faster though?

Yep. We have a well known brand of fish fingers called "Nexus 6". I bought the phone by accident. I thought I was buying premium fish fingers. I was a little disappointed but after trying to grill it, it seems best to use it as a phone.
The g4 has a much snappier camera truly a 1 second reaction time. However the nexus is much smoother experience all around.

I have both the Nexus 6 and G4 right now. I'm testing out the G4 to see if I'll keep it over the Nexus 6. I love the Nexus 6 but boy does that phone get warm, and take OK pictures. But focusing time REALLY made me lose a lot of shots this past weekend. So I went onto Amazon and got myself the G4.
Screen is strange on the G4... After having the Nexus 6, it just looks tiny! But hte device is way more pocketable. Audio quality on the G4 is acceptable, but good on the Nexus 6 (and not to mention, stereo!). Battery life is a big one for me, too. The Nexus 6 also has OK battery life, but standby is bad. I rooted, greenified, App Ops, custom kernel, disabled services- still couldn't get home with more than 50% battery life and 20 min of SOT. It's an AWESOME phone, but it's not perfect, and far from it. But the thing is, I spend a lot of my time in the camera... So... It makes sense for me to test the G4. I detest Samsung devices now, so I wouldn't use an S6 or S6E even if they gave it to me for free (I'd accept it... Sell it... Profit!) haha.
Anyways, I'll chime in more if you'd like in another day or so.

If you get bad standvy time it is you at fault. Either got some crappy app runing in the background or some account synchronizing every 15 mins. If none of that, then check google now. Might be the reason why google play service stays on and sucks battery in the background.

I'm returning my Nexus 6! No question... Yes, the Nexus 6 feels more premium and has better speakers. But camera and battery life are what I need most. Standby time on this device is incredible. In the same time that my Nexus 6 would drop 30% my LG dropped 10%. Right now, it's been over an hour with the device unplugged and I'm at 99% with 15 min SOT. Camera is good, but in good lighting they're very very similar. If someone is interested, I can post the pictures comparing them.
The screen is smaller, yes, that's a negative point for me. But it's not like that was a surprise! Lol. I knew it was a smaller device from the get go... Even so, the G4 is considered to be a larger device xD it's just smaller compared to the Nexus 6!
JW- is there a way to do auto on lens aperture time? I have it now set, and it never "resets" haha. Or is it something that they think I should ALWAYS do myself?
Just wondering if anyone here has gone from an HTC M7 to the S6 and how the battery life has been in comparison. Thanks in advance!
Went from the m8 (newer model) to the s6 and the battery on the s6 is crap in comparison... However the charger is really really nice.
I make it about half a day on the s6 with pretty heavy use, one 30 minute charge will make it through the second half of the day.

I went from the m7 to the GS6, and I feel like it is a night and day improvement. The m7 was plagued with terribly slow charging times, and I would need to charge that phone at least twice a day. Although I still charge my GS6 twice or even three times a day (heavy user), the adaptive fast charging (or QuickCharge 2.0) makes me feel like charging is less of a chore. Speakers are still better on the m7, and my GS6 unit has a somewhat imperfect screen, but I would still take my GS6 over my m7 any day. Also, the camera is vastly superior on the GS6, if that's your thing.

The battery is tempting but do you think the S6 active will ever see Android 6.0 from Samsung?
Went from M7 to the S6 Active myself, a much greater phone if you ask me and the 3500mah battery on the active beats the crap the old M7's battery life by a long shot. The only thing I miss about the M7 is the dual boom sound speakers up front and the old blink-feed home page with all the news and stuff. After a little searching though I found I can install the HTC Sense Home launcher on my S6 and now I have the best of both worlds...............................
