Hello. I bought like new Motorola Milestone today. On that phone I have everything like from shop-stock. 2.1 Android and unrooted. So.. I decided to install vulnerable recovery by RSD Lite. Everything cool; phone restart to system. Next I insert sd card from my old Milestone with open recovery on it. I clicked "X" and select update.zip from sd card. Open Recovery turns on. On SD I have also CyanogenMod7 so i want to install that. Phone turns off in half of instalation. I've tried install it again about 10 times. My phone now stuck on Motorola Logo or it booted to Bootloader . I will forgot; I've tried also to install nandroid cm9 backup from my another broken milestone with all files (boot.img, bpsw.img, cdrom.img, cust.img, data.img, devtree.img, lbl.img, logo.img, system.img) when it was able to enter openrecovery. Don't know why I've tried to install vulnerable recovery again and....My phone always turns on to bootloader 90.78 with Errors;- Err:1A,23,35,23,00. What happens? I don't have any idea so, please help me. Is there any way to install android by RSD Lite?
Sorry for bad english :/

hi there , last time i used this forum i had forced android onto a htc diamond and you guys helped me a great deal with the problems i encountered .. this time i have a problem with my milestone .
i updated to root and 2.1 with no problems a few months ago , i was going to attempt to flash froyo onto my handset in the near future but for now i just fancied clearing everything off it .
i tried to boot into recovery menu (camera and power button) and all that came up was a bootloader that looked like normal except for an extra line of :
Err:A5,69,35,00,2F
under the bootloader version .
i also tried to boot into the bootloader and flash using rsdlite after reading about that method , ( D-pad up and power ) , this bootloader doesnt have that error line . Although my device is being recognised by rsd i am unable to flash it .
The wierdest thing about all of this is that it isnt bricked completely in that it will still boot up and allow me to make calls etc , anyhelp you guys casn offer will be appreciated .
thankyou in advance
Sean
have you tried to hold 'x' on the hardware keyboard instead of camera-button to get into recovervy?
with rsdlite try to hold the up-dpad to avoid booting before flashing the vulnerable recovery is finished.
thankyou for your fast response . holding the x button did nothing phone just booted as normal .
rsd still wouldnt flash after i held up -dpad device in rsd looks like ..
IMEI/ESN/MEID: N / A

Bootloader Version: v0x009074
DRM Version: N / A

which i assume isnt right :S
plug the phone into rsd while booted and rsd will recognise it so you can flash as normal. this happened to me before. no biggie.
well that worked ... kinda .. it recognised the device and after several 0x7100 errors by moving the sbf file around my computer i managed to get it to flash ... only to find although it said pass it had done nothing to my phone at all and i was still unable to enter a recovery menu :S
And i can no longer access memory card :S
Ok. That is weird.
try complete uninstall and reinstall of motorola drivers and rsd. Also reseat your sd card. Redownload a fresh copy of the sbf and try again.
Sounds like something somewhere is corrupt so clean clean clean.
well ive tried about six times now and all it seems to do each time i flash it is update the bootloader and seeing as i cant get into the menu where i have the update from sd card option i cant change anything else ..
I think for now i will just be happy to use it as a phone i get to upgrade in a couple of months anyway .
Thankyou so much for your help guys .
Well one thing is clear your recovery partition is damaged/not formated properly.
But as a recovery is able to restore the bootloader, bootloader togehter with ROM is able to restore the recovery, so if one is not working phone is still not bricked at least this is how it is intended.
But with flash .sfb you got errors, that could imply bootloader also has some problems..
There is posibility that recovery part of phone is hardware damaged, so even working bootloader cant restore it, or damaged in some other way that bootloader cant repair it, maybe that were the errors for.
Than you say flashing sfb did nothing? What exactly did you mean, even phone ROM didnt get changed, or just recovery didnt? Couse maybe you can still flash sfb to change ROM. This way you will just have to stick to stock ROMs that are provided as .sfb files.
Try flashing sfb again and check if firmware is changed.
Turns out I had missed the part where you had to flash it with a vulnerable bootloader.
Hi, trying to install some custom roms after it turns our Motorola Europe sucks magnificently. But Clockwork Recovery isn't working, neither "boot into recovery" from Rom manger, nor booting into it manually via update.zip.
What happens is:
1. Phone out of box icon. Loads half way
2. Phone next to ! triangle, half a second
3. Reboots like nothings ever happened.
Any idea what could be wrong? It's rooted and everything should be in order that way.
lol newb!
u cant use clockwork on milestone !!!! bootloader is locked .......
But there's a own Clockwork version for Milestone, and all guides requires to use it? It was to my understanding that there have been workarounds.
you will need to use the bootstrap type recovery
but i try the all recovery for milestone but they cann't format the boot partition on my xt720 froyo
I had a perfectly running milestone on SHOLS_U2_02.27.B (Arabic Build). I flashed the phone using rsdlite 4.9 using G.O.T. 2.2.1 UK sbf. Everything worked perfect and the phone booted up and I had android 2.2.1.
When I tried to get into recovery mode nothing happened. I tried using the camera+power and x+power and it still didn't work.
I rooted the phone using universal androot and used quick boot to boot in recovery. I got the exclamation mark in a triangle, however, pressing the volume up and camera didn't work after like 50 tries.
I thought that something was wrong so I flashed the phone back to my original build using rsdlite.
Rsdlite works fine until it reboots the phone. The phone gets past the motorola logo however it gets stuck on the android logo. The android logo appears disappears appears... and so on. I left it there for 30 minutes and the same thing kept happening.
I reflashed back to G.O.T. UK 2.2.1 and it worked again, no problems.
I tried many official builds (UK 2.0, Arabic 2.1,Arabic 2.1update2,UK 2.1) and I get the same results.
I tried the G.O.T. 2.2.1 Telus sbf and it worked.
So to sum it all up, I can't flash anything but a G.O.T. build and I can't get into recovery mode. I can only get into bootloader.
Thanks for any help in advanced...
im new to moto droid , but if it seems to be bricked try a unrooting guide, that tends to get you back to were you need to be.
and if that does not work i say trying to download rom manager and flashing " clockwork recovery"
hope this helps bro
I tried rom manager and the main problem is that I can't access recovery so any unrooting/recovery guides are useless.
At this point I believe that the phone is damaged. I think I'll just flash it with an official rom and then return it as non working.
Have you tried restoring nandroid via ADB?
Hmm I have no idea how, could you tell me how or link me to a guide please?
Have you tried flashing the 90.78 Bootloader? cos this Bootloader allows you to enter the recovery mode by pressing the 'X'+power button and volume up+camera button after the triangle with exclamation mark appears.
Don't forget to extract G.O.T OpenRecovery.zip/Androidiani OpenRecovery.zip at the root of your sdcard. Once you've entered the recovery 2e(all the alphabets are in blue), select apply update. Without OpenRecovery installed in your sdcard, the apply update is useless.
If those method still couldn't get into the recovery mode,i suggest you need to flash vulnerable_recovery.sbf after you flash to stock ROM or any one you like. Google for OpenRecovery_v1_46_SHOLS. In the zip file contains the .sbf
I am on the 90.78 bootloader, I tried everything you just said before and nothing works. At this point I believe it's a hardware error. I will just flash the phone with the official sbf and replace it using warranty. Thanks for the suggestions though.
attempted root and used superboot grj22 from modoco pphone is unlocked and after double clicking on indows bat file as directed phone is locked on boot x
this phone has just come back from htc with a new power switch installed and 2.3.4.
anyway could use some help daughter is upset I locked her phone.
can get to boot menu however can not get into recovery. I get a triangle with exclamation in it
thanks
Please read the Wiki, Rooting guide for unlocked bootloader.
Flash recovery through fastboot.
Flash whatever ROM you want from recovery.
You've flashed a wrong kernel (which is contained in "superboot"), that's why you can't boot.
another question
read wiki and followed instructions which said after loading passimg that this was an older version. searched more and found another thread that gave a new file that was supposed to load the older version of the rom and get around the error "older version"
still not working any other ideas will be appreciated
Just to make sure I understand right you tried the frg83 passimg file and you got "main version is older" error? If so then can I just ask you is your bootloader unlocked (at the X screen before the cyanogen mod logo do you see an unlocked padlock)?
hi
yes padlock on screen is unlocked tryed to flash again and get the same error version is older
thanks for trying to help kid leaves for school tonight and is freaking
more
also askes if I want to reboot device
It'll be long fixed by then don't worry
Boot into bootloader then from there select the recovery option. Once there tell me what you see if you see and android with a /!\ next to it then press power and vol+ power slightly before. Then you will get a menu select power down. If you go straight to the menu tell me what color the writing is.
hi
get the triangle white with a orange exclamation in it
Ok then you'll need to flash a recovery via fastboot. So since you bootloader is unlocked I assume you already have the SDK set up and the drivers installed if not then I can help you with that too, but now just download this file and place it in the same directory as fastboot on the computer and download this file and put it on the root of your sd card (not in any folders).
Then boot the phone into fastboot (hold down the trackball while powering up) then connect the phone to the computer via usb and open a command prompt in the directory where you have fastboot. Then input these commands:
fastboot devices (this should return the s/n number from your phone)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (where recovery.img is the name of the first file you downloaded earlier)
fastboot boot recovery.img (same thing here)
The phone should then boot into recovery from there use the trackball to navigate go to flash zip from sd card then chose zip and chose the second file you downloaded earlier (the one you put on the sd card), after that wait for it to flash then press vol- to go back to the recovery main menu then select reboot system now and your all good you have stock with root access, if you want to flash a custom ROM then just ask I can explain that too.
As I've said, follow the guide FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
You didn't.
The guide for unlocked bootloader is in Unroot/Restore section, called "using fastboot".
Actually, the only thing you need to do is to install recovery. Go to "recovery" guide - again, FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER - and install Amon_Ra's recovery.
Once you have it, you can flash whatever you want, including stock ROM.
ok
everything is good except that i tryed to flash downloaded zip from sd and got error that zip is signed wrong also zip verifacation failed
again thanks excited I got this far.
so after this gets fixed than will phone reboot and go to 2.3.4 that was on there before?
will I be good to go for a new rom and last but least like the miuis and recommendations from an expert?
funny I bought the sensation and forgot how to do all this probably the pressure of the child (oh my god you wrecked my phone) Forgetting of course it was dads to begin with DARN KIDS
me dumb as a box of rocks toggled zip verifacation and ra unzipped.
afraid to push any buttons.
should I reboot?
and then Its ok to load a rom?
thanks
radio should be ok as it was just loaded from htc?
Ya you should be good don't worry you can't brick it by flashing something to the system partition only to the recovery and hboot partitions. Just select reboot system now and all should work fine.
Sorry for the late response I was away from my computer
still stuck on nexus x screen ??
earlier someone posted that when I used superbot I got the wrong kernel?
not sure but still stuck
just tryed to boot into recovery and it wouldnt go
Oh right sorry forgot an important step you kind of need a ROM my bad ok so forget about su you're going to need to flash a ROM I suggest cyanogen mod as a first ROM but it's up to you if you want miui or something then go for it. Here's a link to cm7 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31690913/android%20files/update-cm-7.0.3-N1-signed.zip
So to flash this simply boot into recovery then go to wipe, wipe all at least 2X I do 5X to make sure then just go to flash zip from sd card and flash the ROM.
In that case do like we did last time and reflash it through fastboot. Now sorry but I gotta go maybe someone else can come and help you if not I'll be back later tonight.
thanks
thank you so much for helping me with this got everything working including the new miui rom.
when you panic just a little you forget all the things you knew how to do before.
thanks again.
My moto g xt1063 keeps rebooting but I can't figure out why. Sometimes it goes to the home screen and works fine for a few minutes before rebooting again, most of the times it gets stuck on the bootloader warning screen and reboots. I can access recovery though.
I had planned to install cyanogenmod on it a couple of months ago but I got stuck on an "Error updater binary in zip" so I just gave up. The device is running Official Rom provided by Telcel (México) and has SuperUser on it too, I had a notification about the binary but updating didn't fixed the problem.
I have a backup on my computer (mac) but since I can't get the phone to sync by usb I was wondering how to copy it via recovery (clockworckmod v6.0.4.7) or if it's best to buy a micro sd and try to install from there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First try a factory reset.
Use an sdcard yo retore backup
If fail return to stock rom
If you have a recovery installed try to make a backup from there and save it in some place like a sd card.
After that I suggest you install CM 12.1 21/05/2015 and look how it works.
Or if you prefer then reinstall the stock rom.
