Hi, I found a easy method to Root our Xperia ZR 10.6.A.0.454
install the latest version of KingRoot 4.1 from this link install the app and click on root, thats all, your device will be rooted,
Note: you need to update the su binaries after rooting
Thanks!
No problem at all, just go ahead dudes.
App needs to stay installed?
not necessary
Whether Root stays when you reboot the device and Is there any device malfunctioning after root?:fingers-crossed:
The root doesn't hold when your restart the phone. Tell me how to update the su binaries after rooting

My zr bootloader lock. And managed to root with kingroot. Root still remains even after reboot. So far no problem.

Oh great I can re-lock then ! thanks for that!!
Edit; After relocking- had to re-flash fw (had app failures/rebooting) OK now! I hopes?
Getting lots of reboots now.......it's not looking good?
AFTER ABOUT 5 or 6 reboots it's now quietened down ....for now!!! seems OK
CRASHES & REBOOTING.......NOT OKAY! Maybe a heat issue.......while updating apps? took the back off seems to have helped?
EDIT (AGAIN!) It's not very stable...but it can work!

Cannot use the rom intergration fuction, even after getting an updated version of titanium backup

I did. Now I'm rooted and on 4.2.2. Follow the instructions on the thread. It works very well.
hmm after receiving my device the first thing I did was to update it to 4.2.2 (fw 2.67). Unfortunately I had to downgrade to .310 for being able to gain root with doomlord's toolkit. VRoot doesn't work for me as for an unknown reason it keeps loading like it doesn't detect the device. However unlockroot detects it, but can't get shell root.
Another strange thing is that flashtool always returns that USB debug is OFF although it's ON and well set (connectivity etc..), but I'm still able to flash despite that.
Now the question is, will the root survive to an update...

I rooted my .67 firmware using Vroot and worked perfectly.
This is how i connected my device:
1. USB Debugging on
2. Connection mode (MSC) (from settings->xperia->usb connectivity)
3. Also exit Sony PC Companion before rooting.
Look here for image instructions:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434453
BTW you have to manually install BusyBox after rooting w/ Vroot.

I noticed that you are using Vroot 1.6. A user on another thread for ZR reported that the phone is not detected in the Vroot 1.6.
You should try the new v1.7. And I did it on Win 8.
I was just trying to be as informative and through as I can.

Nothing really new.
Maybe just Sony added "support" for recording in loud locations - concerts for example. Or, better said, they're trying to indirectly force users to go and record them, cause cracking sound when camera is trying to re-focus is hearable in mid-loud areas too. So in normal conditions is video recording totally unusable.

Hey fellas,
I just received an OTA update notice for 9.2.A.2.5 on my XV. Can anyone confirm that I'll keep root when I perform an OTA update? I currently run 9.1.A.1.140 (4.1) with SU, which has an "ota survival" option (though with the notice that I may not work on all devices.)
I'd love to update to 4.3 but I absolutely have to keep root, or half of my apps will stop working ...
Thanks!
Most probably not; but no problem, rooting is/became very easy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798411

If the 4.1 firware was heavily modified, the OTA scripts may fail...
If that is not the cause, then install SuperSU and then choose "Completely Uninstall Root" (or something like that) from it's settings.
Then you can do the OTA update and root (see this).

Besides root I have some Xperia V mods activated via the Xposed framework, I have uninstalled and frozen many system apps, and I have made some changes to the system with Android Tuner so it runs more smoothly. I guess that qualifies as "heavily modified"? I tried "unrooting" via Superuser ("temporal unroot"), removing the XV mods and reset the Build.prop, but that didn't do the trick. So if I have to undo all my changes anyway, I can just as well flash the rom I guess.
Okay, so I updated to 9.2.A.2.5 via Sony Bridge for Mac and then rooted with tr. Everything is fine except that neither the energy saving modes nor Bluetooth are working.
Any ideas?
Used it a couple of days ago to update to 4.3. Worked perfectly A lot better than the previous 4.1.2.
I took it because it was European. What's to difference to SG?

Argh ... that's exactly why OTA updates make no sense. Thanks for the tip. I "repaired" my phone via Sony Bridge for Mac, which of course meant that I had to setup everything again thereafter. Thanks to Towelroot and Titanium Backup, that wasn't nearly as much of a hassle as it used to be ...
Now I'm a happy 9.2.A.2.5 user, which I already like a lot more than the previous JB4.1.2-based firmware.

Stock one, not patched.. If u use seraja xposed then your services.jar is patched..and patched services.jar cant verify OTA update.
I'm on stock rom and just rooted with newroot and installed dual recovery ( NDR utils)
Towelroot
the newroot tool roots the phone with the towelroot exploit...but towelroot makes you unable tu update...you can update manually by using flashtool (you will loose root) after that you flash only the .108 kernel and root with newroot again. After rooting on .108 kernel you flash only .157 kernel than you have new .157 firmware with root
P.S .157 seems to have lot of bugs ... just google this... i stay at .118 (vodafone version of .108) cause .157 doesnt come with new features

Send the extracted folder "mrw" to the internal storage of your device and make sure that this folder contains 4 files
Open Terminal emulator and type :

Download root check app from store and check that you have proper root.. Kingroot by itself does not give proper root so use supersu-me app or similar to convert from king to su.. Even if you have full root, you can't remove sys-apps.. Some custom firmware allows you to but it's not advisable.. Gives bugs.

No bro, u just visit the link Bolydark posted here, follow the steps to replace Kinguser with supersu correctly and reboot. You will see that the king user is removed and you will be able to easily install SuperSu binaries in supersu app into ur fone. I hope it will improve ur battery backup again?.
Then u can easily install Nuts XZdualrecovery too.

I didn't encountered such problem, u can just unroot it using kingroot only btw. I recommend u replace kingroot with SuperSu, its a better option.
