Restore ROM for Honor 3C (H30-U10) to Stock JB Firmware (V100R001C900B110)
Respectable Sir,
My Dad's Honor 3c LCD had some hardware issue to troubleshoot i tried to upgrade to KITKat but the problems with the screen was persistent, i sent it to the service center but they said the warranty is void unless i restore it to the stock version (Picture for the version i need to restore is attached).
1. I restored back to Honor 3C (H30-U10) to B108 Stock JB Firmware (V100R001C900B108) but they said i need to restore back to the version it came in ...
2. " Honor 3C (H30-U10) to JB Firmware (V100R001C900B110) THIS IS THE FIRMWARE VERSION I NEED BUT I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE "
Kindly treat my email as an SOS .

ModemFix can't be use to get IMEIs back in B108, it was made for EMUI 2.3 dev.

Yes, indeed, LiveTWRP will no longer work on newer builds, i am afraid you will need to flash the recovery to device if you want to use it.
After all, the 'Live' version is a bonus, and without source i have no idea what they did that caused it failed to boot.

Live TWRP part confirmed, it can no longer be used with newer EMUI version.
For sdcard problem, can you confirm your device is H3C H30-U10? Not H3W or other variant? Intl. or China set?
I would suggest you to try the following:
1) Reset TWRP settings
2) Try other SD card, different brand if possible.
3) Smaller storage size, eg: If you are using 16GB now, try one with lower size like 8GB, 4GB.
4) Format the SD card with android, remove any extra feature such as sdcard encryption.

I believed you have it connected to internet and checked for update and there is no OTA available for your device, correct?
Unfortunely HW has removed the download link for B110, i do not have any backup for B110 either, i didn't download it earlier.
For now i think what you can do it ask your friend or some else with B110 to do a TWRP backup and use the backup to restore.
You need to restore /system & /cust partitions only, once you have done that do a factory data reset from a booted system.
I wish i could help more but i have the slowest internet on the planet so nothing i can do here.

TWRP B110 backup from your country? Yea, that would be fine too, but if you have the B110 UPDATE.APP that would be better.
I am not sure if B108 locked BL could survive TWRP restore without first soft-bricking it, i didn't try that, or i tried but forgot ...

Hello! I downloaded the firmware EMUI2.3_H30-U10_4.9.1 and did everything you wrote, but after extracting the firmware by HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.8.0 I did found in the folder the file '_PrepareFiles.exe' (item 13 of your post)! What is wrong? Thank you!!!

dear sir,
it is great to have your guide with me, i just wanted to make a suggestion, at the point where you have summarize the steps for installing kit kat on international hand sets, please write an instruction that all international users must have unlocked their phones, before rom update, so after upgrading they could run live TWRP easily.
Thanks and regards once again.
Hello! I downloaded the firmware EMUI2.3_H30-U10_4.9.1 to flash the phone by Flash Tool. According the guide "Restoring Official Stock ROM using SPFT" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...809&postcount=) after extracting the firmware by HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.8.0 the file "_PrepareFiles.exe" must be appear in the folder with extracted firmware. But in my case when I extracted the file "update.app" I did'nt find the file "_PrepareFiles.exe" in the folder (((( What is wrong? The NET.framework v.4.5.1. is instastalled. Thank you!
I just bought this Huawei Honor 3C 4G (H30-L02)
I managed to delete the whole OS. I have TWRP for my device but it will not install anything I put in my card.
Fastboot will not install because the files are too big. I also think that drive(if it's not part of a bigger drive) is 500mb.
I tried to rezise and everything was completed as it should. But the partition had not changed afterall.
I'm also new to these MKT phones so I would need some assistanse.
I have TWRP and fastboot/recovery working.
I might have fastboot flash:raw the TWRP (lol) so is that my current OS, I don't know.
How do I delete the whole phone or install a firmware?
I Appreciate any suggestion, please help me cause I kind of liked the phone too.
I might hand over a 6 pack for the one with the right solution! :good:

Hi
I have been following the thread for the linage os in the View 10 forum.
Several people have reported it working on Honor 9 Lite which is treble compatible, before I try it out however I wanted to be sure I could go back to my current rom which is the official LLD-L31 for the UK honor 9 lite.
My current build number is LLD-L31 8.0.0.121(C432)
What options do I have to restore if I don't like the rom I flash?
So far I have managed to pull the System & ODM folders to my pc. all except the Vendor file due to a permissions error.
Is this enough? Can I simply push these folders back? and at which point do I attempt the push? When booted/in recovery etc?
Otherwise, Is there an official or unofficial Huawei/Honor restore tool? or maybe a full rom I can flash? HiSuite says it has this function, but my device isn't listed.
Sorry for all the questions, it's been a while since I flashed a rom & it was always via TWRP I understand treble roms are flashed via the stock recovery though

I have the same model and have also been following the thread. My understanding, and hopefully someone will correct if wrong, is that with project treble GSI you're only overwriting, via fastboot, system.img partition, therefore if you want to return to your original I suspect you can do the same thing again and fastboot original.img with a factory reset.
There is a utility called huawei firmware finder which allows you to look for firmware. I tried it but can only find the LLD-AL10 8.0.0.100(C675CUSTC675D4) which i think is for the 4/64GB veresion or may even be for the huawei P smart. Until honor make the firmware available not sure what other options exist.
BTW it would help if you report back with any success/failures if you try it. Also interested in what this version Lineage OS is missing/not working, I think the camera still has some issues last i checked the thread.

Thanks for the reply, I suspected that's how it worked, just flash back the original system image.
I think I'm gonna hang fire for the time being until I know I have the correct firmware to go back if needed, hopefully the camera will be sorted by then too.
I flashed a firmware today and couldn't revert to stock because can't find it. Any ideas?

When you unlocked your bootloader and before you overwrote your system partition you should have taken a backup of your stock system partition so you can restore it. Honor has not made the firmware available yet as far as I know.

Just in case I decide to try this, how do I get a flashable file?
I pulled the contents of system + odm via ADB but just ended up with 2.3GB of folders.
Can I convert this to a flashable .img file? Or should I have done this another way?

found description for how to do it for v10 on another site:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system of=/storage/emulated/0/system.img
this implies root is required so I guess you would:
1. unlock bootloader
2. load TWRP.
3. load root (su).
4. reboot back into TWRP and save system.img.
However, you make it work you need to make sure system.img is saved before any changes are made.

I was thinking about this today & came to the same conclusion.
The idea is to pull a clean unmodified system image, but the only way to do that is by using root privileges SU, then via TWRP - Does that not make it a modified image?
Maybe I'm thinking about it too much:silly:
What Root method & TWRP versions have Honor 9 Lite users had success with? I'm keen to give this a go

Not TWRP as that is the recovery partition (recovery.img) not the system partition (system. Img). Not sure about root though as i believe that does add stuff in one, or more, of the system sub folders, maybe someone else can confirm, but if you're using superuser then unzipping that should tell you what's being added and where. However, if you think about it, this has always been a bit of an issue with any android. You cannot take a nandroid backup without some kind of custom recovery so how can you ever take a snapshot of the stock rom. Specialised tools can do it as they can dump the entire rom but how can any android be dumped in full straight out of the box without first changing something.?
You could try this:

but it never really worked properly for me.

Great, that's good news. Please report back with a link so we can all share. Thanks.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
Great news about TWRP too, I look forward to trying it out.
Hello,
As a preface I have to say I'm less than a newbie in this matter.
My Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (PRA-LX1) had problems with lack of internal memory, so I decided to find a solution.
Following suggestions coming from some forums, I decided to root the phone to move the apps to an external microSD card and free the internal memory.
I got the unlock code and I used Multi-Tool for Huawei v.8.0.7.1 to root the phone.
After rooting I found in my phone only few apps and even Google App Store and keyboard were missing. To fix this last problem I downloaded and installed Gboard apk and then Firefox (no browser ar all in the phone).
Nevertheless, I can't even setup the Google account in the phone because in account settings is not available any Google option.
I'd like to setup the phone to install the apps and then change partitions and move the apps to the external SD card.
These are the installations I applied via the Multi-Tool:
- TWRP-3.1.1-2_by_greatslon.zip
- SR1-SuperSU-v2.82.zip
Please, could you help me on try to fix this issue?
I'm available even to do everything from the beginning if better, but I need to fix this issue.
Thank you very much in advance for any help.
Bets regards,
GP

Could you write me the link to the original firmware ROM? If needed, how can I get the IMEI number for my phone from the TWRP? Is it possible? I think is needed to identify the single/dual sim model, is it right?
At the moment, after trying to restore the phone, I can only get access to the TWRP. The phone is bricked :'-(
Thanks,

I recommend you to look at htc mania for a ROM (you can find the phone there as Huawei P9Lite 2017, altough I can't say for sure that the phones are exactly identical so I don't know if it will work for you but gsm arena says that they are the same phones with different names). I'm on mobile right now, sorry can't give you the link.
I need to ask you (unrelated to your problem), what command did you use when installing TWRP?

Hello Jhon_Locke,
first of all, thank you very much for your answer to my message. I'm going to check htc mania to try to fix my issue.
About TWRP installation, I used Multi-Tool for Huawei and Honor v. 8 to install TWRP in my phone, so I didn't use a direct command.
Thank you very much again!

Hi guys,
I have a sunmi v2 android PDA, and i want to remove blocked OS.
I can't find bootloader, or i dont know how to enter on it, also i want to install a recovery mode to flash a new ROM.
Someone can help me please with this problem?
Thank You.
Hi, I have the same problem. Did you find a way to do it?
Can you tell me please?
Thank you
I have V.1.. Firstly, are you guys able to allow installation of apps from "Unknown Sources"?
Just wondering if you ever managed to load android onto the V2 and remove the Sunmi OS? I have managed to enable dev mode and allow untrusted sources but on installing google play services and store all I get is crash reports and have to factory reset.
Thanks
J
Can you tell me what you did to install apps from untrusted sources? and what progress have you managed to make?

To enable untrusted sources I had dev mode on but under security > device admin > unknown sources. I don't know if you need to enable dev mode to turn that on but if so go to about > build number > tap until it enables. I'm not really a software guy and was hoping someone on the internet would have a solution to rooting the device and maybe ADB it, I did ask a software engineer friend of mine and he did some research on them, these things talk to Sunmi's servers on boot with the current FW so they are heavily locked down, so progress wise for me is it's been in a drawer since January and I'm hoping someone will have a way to root the thing :S
So I have no idea about Android things but I bought secondhand Sunmi V2 that is locked on Glovo aplication.
For the last week I managed to do some research about that:
1. The thing runs custom OS with some kind of recovery-from-boot.p thing that prevents most of modifications, cause after reboot it reverts some system things.
2. I tried to use SP flash tool to do full backup, made mine scatter file and thing I have no idea about
3. Managed to download TWRP recovery to device recovery partition with use of SP flash tool, this did not do anything and the thing booted to Phoenix recovery as normal....
4. With the help of WWR 2.51 I managed to install applications on it...
5. Installed Kingroot, didnt do anything, installed, APKPure, works nice, Magisk, dont know how to root...
6. Tried installing google play, it says it is installed, cant uninstall it nor open it...
7. Can't and don't know how to enter fastboot...
8. I am afraid to flash complete ROM from some other same chipset device...
9. After powering up, Sunmi connects to its own server and does some kind of evil magic to preinstall software and settings.
10. I contacted Sunmi, they kinda don't want to help, cause I will resell device after unblocking it.
11. Fount "that guy" from youtube that does unlocking it, on the minus side he wants money for unlock... and from his videos he flashes complete EMMC_USER bin to device to unlock google play.
Do anyone know which steps can I take further to try to unlock it by myself?
I have some spare time at work to do this kind of playing around.
Update:
I managed to extract system.img from device and I am able to browse files on it, the plan is to see can i change some files and setting in it and reflash it back to device. This is all overwhelming to me as I have no experience in android development.

Thank you for the update, Im following this thread to see how this goes. Im trying to unlock my Sunmi V1 too
I managed to brick it, stuck at boot looping... Somehow I redownload boot and system from my backup with SP flash tool and got it working back again...
So I tried using ASSAYED Kitchen and remove some Bloatware, rebuild it, and upload it back to device, used two files: System.img and boot.img... This bricked my device.
What am I doing wrong? This must surely be my error. Do I need to do something to recovery partition?
UPDATE:
Managed to install custom recovery TWRP, made it myself using Carliv Image Kitchen
UPDATE 2:
Even thou TWRP seems working, It does not mount any partitions: /data, /system... Invalid argument...
Does anyone know how to fix it easy way? because I cant find too similar custom TWRP to Sunmi...
Any custom system.img that I flash with SP tool does not want to boot, never, and even if I only open ASSAYED Kitchen, do nothing and repack it. Is the only way to install it with TWRP?
BIG UPDATE:
I have done 99% of the job!
I could write full from zero to hero tutorial for this, but basically I used TWRP to recover /data/system/users/0/package-restrictions.xml and edit it as I pleased and unlock google play.

I am also looking forward to the results you have done
So amazing!!
I am slowly loosing interest in this. Whatever I do it is just endless loop...
When I modify package-restrictions.xml and settings_secure.xml files I got GooglePlay and Maps and stuff, but first time you connect the device to internet, SunmiBaseService overwrites them with options used for this DeviceID.
I renamed this SunmiBaseService to something else, got this working, but then since the whole thing runs on this sunmi backbone you can't install any apk's. I can normally install apks using USB and enabled BaseService.
It would be best if I could have just normal Android on this thing since it is unusable if you block BaseService, and if you would do any system upgrade on some point in time it would overwrite and install this service by itself. Like I said, it is endless loop. Even after contacting sunmi my region cant't have this for private use.
I can provide all files used in this process, my scatter files, my TWRP recovery and else...
The question is is it possible to port clean Android to this device, like we install new windows on a PC?
Hello guys, any news for Sunmi? I got one, but i wan't to remove the OS, or enable Play on it.

No, I tried everything I know. Only thing that I did not do is replacing sunmibase service with some kind of android base service or paying some youtube guy 20$ for unlocking, but I doubt it would work correctly. Couse after you, in some point in time, update software or something I highly doubt it would work after that.

Would it be possible for you to re-upload the files?
