Hello!
I am wanting to buy an extra samsung charger but having problems. I cant seem to find it anywhere. Amazon sell some but I dont believe they are genuine Samsung even when its says by Samsung as it looks very different from the one i have i got with my device. No idea why samsung don't even list it on their own website.
its my first android phone so I'm not experienced in using websites to buy things as previously I would just go to the apple shop and get ripped off in person.
Thanks
amazon has a few and I have found that they all work just as well as OEM

mobile fun or mobile fun: avoid! I purchased a cable with them in the past and they are really good at trying to convince you they are selling genuine items but they arent. you can tell when you receive it and its just one of those cases of exploding chargers waiting to happen.
also you can tell from the pic that its not genuine samsung as the safety info (which is just made up because they aren't tested) is printed in black, but the Samsung OEM ones are printed in grey
just be careful with mobilefun guys!
heres my communication with them

me: I will be satisfied when I get the refund, so I do not feel like additional contact is required. I work for the NHS and may be required to work whenever so I'm not sure of best times to contact me. I do find email the easiest as I reply when I get the chance to.
Thanks
mf: Thank you for your email.
I can confirm that your refund has been processed this morning. Please allow up to 72 hours for the refund to appear in your account.
Should you not have received your refund after this time, then please contact our Customer Relations Department on 0330 022 9219.
Many thanks, Annie

Hi Folks
Before we start , A bit of background as I've been reading these forums and I am aware how some may find this a contenious subject, So before anyone goes accusing me of any illegality let me say I have a Kindle Fire 2 and Kindle Fire HD, both in demomode as they were acquired from the Comet UK Firesale after the company went bankrupt late last , Unfortunately I don't think the staff where that dedicated to customer service at that point.
Right Down to business - So in the doing the research the obviously the Factory Cable Method and that's about it isn't it? I thought I have a little play around as my solder skills aren't the great.
The Firmware on the Device is 10.0.2.A I'd expect this to work on earlier firmware, Later ones however I'm not so sure, The Aforementioned Fire HD which I also have has had the Final Part of the process I'm going to describe fixed.
What You Need: Your Fingers and A Wifi network you can connect to!
1. Boot The Fire, Touch To Try The Fire and Run.
2. With the device in Potrait, Press in the search box , three options should appear below the search box ( Libraries , Stores and Web )
3. Press Web. I was the informed I had no network connection, and very nicely asked "If I wished to sign in?"
4. Press the Wireless Settings button which should take you to the wireless network settings. where you can configure a network
5. Download an apk file, any apk file will do , google code have lot, and I've heard this other site, I think it begins with an X They also have a couple
6. Pull the Nofication Bar Down, You should have a notification that the download is complete, Click to install
7. You'll Should Get a notification about non amazon prime apps not being allowed along with the option to change that setting,
8. Press the Settings button to take you into the Device menu. From there you can get into developer option and turn USB Debugging On!
9. An For the Icing on the cake , you can restart adb as root from your PC. as demo seems to have an insecure boot image. lol so you don't even need any root explioits.
Not much else to say other than "All you are demo modes belong to us", I'm glad I didn't go with plan A to update the firmware.
Note: Don't worry If it restart demo mode in the middle as your wifi connection settings are perisisted
Also Keep Unknown Application Sources off and you'll be able to run this process as many times as you like.
I'll post pictures etc later on as I've not removed demo yet. I've not remove demo mode yet.
Like I say this could be very specific to just this version the firmware
Hack On People!
So I've just gotten a P8 Lite with EMUI 4.0 and Android 6.0 installed as a replacement phone from the store for a couple of weeks probably.. And I just noticed that it doesn't have the "Privacy Protection" settings, so I can't add a guest user / second account on the same phone? Is this something that has to be activated or is there a workaround? It should be under Settings > Advanced Settings > Security > Privacy Protection but that last option just isn't there...
Is there any communication about WHY they took out this function? Googled a bit but didn't find anything useful, besides some other frustrated people but no real answers as to why it has disappeared or possibly how to work around?
Why? I don't know. It's Huawei!!
As for the solution, check this thread - chapter 10 (if you mmeet the prerequisites) ....
So i pre ordered the s8+ and recently got the vr in the mail. The instruction given by samsung to redeem the free vr content is
Create or sign in to your Oculus account from your new Samsung Galaxy device.
From the Oculus app, tap the More icon on the bottom right > tap Redeem Code > enter your code** > tap Submit.**You can omit the dash when entering your code, it will automatically populate.
Question is what code are they talking about, does anyone know????
I have tried to look everywhere i cant seem to find that code
The code will be in the box with the VR. Mine arrived today and just finished setting up. I hope you dont run into my issue. it seems once I plug it into the gear VR wifi gets knocked off. No clue why and am searching the internet for answers now.
Hmmmmmm i havent tested this yet, lemme test it. Thanks for the info

There should be a white card in the shipping box (not in the VR's box). Mine was stuck to the inside and I almost did not see it. On the card is is a scratch off section covering the code.
Hello,
happpen that many times sms toward a phone number doesnt work, doesnt start. Why?
Thanks
That's really not enough information to understand your problem. Is the profile not triggering? The task doesn't complete? Have you looked at the run log?
You could more easily provide information by long pressing the problematic profile (or task) to select it > 3-dot menu > export > copy description then pasting that into a post.

I think his problem is that he can't send SMS.
In general, not with Tasker.
That is a a problem with his phone, not related to Tasker.
I have done. There is preferences about external access that were not put in able way.
Also thank.
Another question, about a different kind, is there a way to cut the power supply usb of the device when it is connected? I have a remote station (basedon s3 device hardware) that is powered by a power bank. The power bank stop to give tension when the device in charged. To awake the power bank, I need to trigger the usb connection for few second every 7 days. How can I may do? Thanks.

I got this note 8 new unlocked no carrier etc, first day I owned it did upgrade from 7 --> 8. No issues but seemed laggy I had alot of apps and played with som3 settings, after getting a good feel for how I wanted this device configured long term I decided on factory reset.
Since then, dev. Options is gone. Yes I tap the tappy thing 7 to 100 times and get message "you are now developer" but is a lie. No such option. Only empty longing where should be. Do again and message "already developer" another lie.
This device junk?

Best bet is to try resetting one more time. Can you post a screenshot of your settings page ?

So, indeed, I did try to factory reset again, same result. I took screen shots but I cant post them up just yet, forum rules, but all they show is android telling me that dev. options already enabled, then a shot of the place where dev. Options should be but is not.
If I could hazard a guess, and I am not by any means as savvy with this as most of you, but here is what I have noticed and suspect:
I got this device from rent a center new with android 7. RAC uses admin software to lock you out if you dont pay, but I have never "run into" that software or seen an effect due to it. On android 7, I had dev options. I also had an LG G6 from RAC on android 7, same thing no issues and had dev options.
Then upgrade the Note8 to Oreo, great, love it... still had dev options. Then reset a few weeks later as described above, and no more dev options.
Here is the differences I have noticed:
When going through initial device setup on android 8, it has a Knox Configuration process that I didnt see when initializing same device but android 7.
Also, there is more Knox software than there was before. For example, "KC Client" is a new app in my list after this reset. I could be mistaken though, I wasnt exactly looking out for such changes.
Is it possibke that Knox is blocking dev options? If so, this device will be going back to RAC post haste!
I've run into the same problem and mine is from RAC as well.

A few people have had similar problems I saw here and here.
upload screenshots of your settings and About Phone page on linx.li then paste the links to them here.
Have you applied the OTA updates since factory resetting? I would try to apply any updates you can and
Did you clear caches after doing factory reset? Long shot but it might help
To clear your Cache go to to Settings > Device Maintenance > Storage > Click menu (three dots top right) > Storage Settings > Internal Storage > Cached Data > Clear
Then do the Dalvik Cache: Power Phone completely off > Hold down Power, Bixby, and Up Volume button until phone powers on > Keep holding Bixby and Volume up untul recovery screen pops up > Use volume buttons to navigate to wipe cache partition > Press volume to select Wipe cache partition > Select Yes > reboot
With an unlocked phone can't you just put it in download mode and flash twrp? Or are you not familiar with that process?

DId you do the same process? 7 > Oreo > Back to 7 and then no dev options? Or what happened
No I didn't. I just updated to oreo via ota
Was able to access developer options using an app from the play store but as you can see from this screenshot OEM unlock is not clickable. Any ideas on how to circumvent this?
