[Q] - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a kindle fire HD which I just opened and used recently though it was given to me last 2013...the first time it was used, it was ok...but when it ran out of battery and we tried to charge it using my Amazon powerfast charger, the screen lit up into a bright red-orange color after some time and the tablet was hot to the touch though still can be touched. Tried to push the power button down and less than or about 20 sec later, the screen turned off...waited a while then tried to turn it on, the "kindle fire" words that usually appears upon turning on a kindle appeared but only for a fleeting second then the screen turned again into a bright red-Orange color. Tried doing the same thing again and again but the same result occurred - a bright red-orange screen. This unit is practically new and I badly need to know if it is repairable or not. Need your expert help asap. Thank you very much.

[Q] Kindle Fire HD - Replaced Battery

I opened kindle fire hd and replaced battery. Kindle was working fine but the old battery would not stay charged for more than an two hours unless plugged in, so I replaced battery. Kindle Fire powered on and new battery stayed charged all day but is stuck at the orange arrow swipe screen. I have done the hard boot by holding power button for 20 seconds and it reboots but still touch screen is unresponsive and also tried with it connected to laptop, no luck.

Is it possible that you unplugged or damaged the touchscreen controller?

I think i know what's going on here, In any KFHD if you charge the device using a wall charger with current output less than 1800mA The touch screen becomes unresponsive while charging, I think that's because the device rely completely on external power source instead of the battery during charging and if this power source is not enough the touch screen doesn't work, I think the battery you put in the KFHD has a lower current output than the original, Try replacing it. Also can you please take a picture of both batteries, make sure the text on the batteries is clear?
Thanks

I am having a similar problem. I had the same problem with the battery not holding a charge, so I bought a new battery. Now the new battery does not power the screen. If I want it bright enough to see, I need to have it plugged in. It started out flickering for a few seconds before becoming clear. After 4-5 days, the flickering doesn't go away.. I'm pretty sure I used the correct charger.

[Q] Am I boot looping? [FIXED]

Left kindle fire HD 7" (rooted) on my dresser for 3 months without playing with it, and the battery went dead. Plugged it in and the power light turns green it turns on for a micro second with the yellow triangle with a flame in it. and then shuts back off. and then turns back on for a second and back off. screen actually turns off in between.
The reason I wonder if this is not a boot loop is because in my experiencing there is no shutting off of the device on a bootloop. That may not be true. Also the thing wont turn on at all if not plugged in to the wall.

Ok I figured it out. It was the charger. Standard Kindle charger, but I put the same Kindle on my HTC ONE charger and it booted up fine.
So, to answer my own question. I was not boot loop, the kindle fire was just turning on and shutting off repeatedly.

Rooted nook HD won't power on, poss battery fault. what happens if i send for repair?

Rooted my Nook HD and installed CM using e.mote's method. Worked a treat, thought the battery was acting oddly - it always thought it had far less battery than it actually did - plugging it in at 1% it would shoot right back to up 30-60%. Yesterday I went to start it and it was powered off. Plugged it in, came back a while later and it wouldn't turn on. The light next to the charger plug was flashing red and the screen showed an "overheating" icon. I tried a few things like holding the power button/power and nook buttons for 30 secs. Now it doesn't show any color, when I try turn it on it goes green, then after a few seconds orange, then flashes red for a few seconds, then the color disappears again.
I've looked around and the suggestion is the battery needs resetting or replacing.
Assuming having it rooted with CM installed means my warranty is invalidated, what happens if I return it for repair?
EDIT: Just took out the SD card and it went back to showing the overheating icon again. Took out the power cable and replaced it, now it's flashing orange. This thing's gone nuts.

Kindle keeps turning off and on

I have a rooted Kindle Generation 2 with CM on it that's been on it for years now. It's been turned off for probably a year now or so.
When I plug it into the PC or the wall to charge up the display comes on and shows the Kindle Fire blue and white words and then turns itself off and then turns itself back on again in a loop. It doesn't stay powered on long enough for the computer to detect it and do anything or for me to select any options. I've tried holding down the power button for 20, 30, 60 seconds and nothing. Just two seconds on and then two seconds off over and over again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Phone constantly turning off

Hi.
I have a major problem with my HTC One M7. I had been using Tesla OS for quite some time, and decided to upgrade it. All of it seemed to work fine. However, just as I declined a coming call, the screen turned black. I was able to enter hboot/fastboot screen, but when I have tried to turn it on, the OS image just flashes and it turns off again. Same is with the TWRP, a loading screen is visible for a split second, and it just goes black. Everything seems to work fine when I completely discharge it to 0% and charge it back on again. I have done a factory reset and flashed a stock ROM, but the problem persists, after some time the screen just goes black and it is the same all over again (the image of OS/TWRP comes on for a sec and then the screen goes black). The only solution so far is to charge it out (by leaving it on the white hboot screen) and then charge it again, but it is impossible to use the phone like that. Maybe someone has already overcome this problem or has any ideas on how to do it? Any help will be appreciated!
