I have a new Tilt (stock) I want to know if it supports 2 lines? Att phone reps said no, store rep says yes. I want to have my business line and personal line on the same phone - trouble is they are 2 different ATT accounts. Does anyone know for sure if the tilt supports 2 lines? Does anyone know how to mod the sim or the procedure to get a 2nd line from another account onto the phone I have a sim reader/writer but instructions are in hyroglyphics. Could anyone recomend a sim programmer that would do the trick or is the sim card id going to be the road block?
You can look into this solution:

the adapters that are being listed here will allow you to insert two SIM cards into the device, but only one SIM can be active at a time (so if you have SIM one active, even if not on a call, the second SIM calls/SMS will not show up until to switch).
The Tilt has the ability to accept two numbers but this is a network restriction. Speak to AT&T about MULTISIM or placing a redirect on one of the lines. That way you will have ONE SIM and will be able to accept calls for business and personal on one phone (even have the ability of placing one on hold whilst receving the other).
The only issue comes to your number - people can contact you using either the business number or the personal number. but when you send SMS or make a call, your number will be shown. You need to decide whether this is to be the personal or business numbers shown as you can't easily change this once it is setup.
As I say, speak to your network if the above is the option you are wanting, else go ahead with the dual SIM adapter if you are happy to change over to keep checking for new SMS and voicemails.
Thanks!
I will try out the forwarding, my problem is that my personal line is for another business - I want to be able to determins the origin of the call (ie: from buiness 1 or 2) so I can answer correctly. If I do the forwarding I'm not sure on how to identify the calls. Would it make more sense to port one of the numbers to a land line and then forward it to the phone so when a call comes in it will show the landline caller ID and I will know to answer abc company rather than xyz company? Thoughts?
i think your idea on the divert to landline then divert landline back to mobile is good.
just remember about answerphones - you want people to know they've reached the right place, but don't want to give them the wrong number or name! maybe change your mobile answerphone to "hi it's Bob, please leave a message and i'll return your call" (or whatever - just no number and no business name).
also keep in mind that divert costs. so if i was to telephone you, I pay the normal fee but you pay for the cost of calling your landline from your mobile, and then the cost of calling the mobile from the landline on your home bill. Effectively you would be paying for TWO calls for every call you received.
Why not just divert straight from line 1 to line 2? Then you just pay for call forwarding from the one line?
Hope some of this is helping you

This is a great idea. Has anyone here tried this on a Kaiser?
how can I set SMS center in HTC diamond?
I can't send sms and it said I should set my SMS Center in setting
please help me
You should ask your operator for a new SIM card. I got the same error message and after days trying all kinds of ways, I still couldn't set the SMS center number. Then I read about others having the same problem. In all cases a new SIM card proved to be the only solution. And it also worked for me. So, good luck!
Settings>Personal>Phone>Services>Voice Mail and Text Messages...Get Settings...
You can change the Message Center number there. By default it takes the number from the SIM.
this problem only exist in this phone and my other cellphones didn't have problem with my SIM card I test it on P990 and N6681. Also I test it with 2 other oparators SIM
also when try to get Settings... it said Cannot read settings from the network. Try viewing settings later, or disconnect data connection and try again.

I finally went to the local Telfort shop, after I read about the SIM cause/solution. I showed the same error message and swapped SIM's with the girl behind the counter. Her newer SIM worked on my Diamond and my older SIM worked on her Nokia. That proved the combination of my older SIM and the Diamond was the problem. So I got a new SIM for free and now no more problems getting settings and sending SMS
I test my SIM and SMS Center setting exist in SIM card,
anyone know that this problem is related to SPL, RADIO or OS? or may be SIM Lock?
I can recieve SMS and also call with all 3 SIMs

It could be the radio version.. Apart from that I wouldn't know if it's related to anything specific in the Diamond. It looks like there's nothing wrong with my SIM unlocked Diamond and it looked like there wasn't anything wrong as such with my previous SIM, either, as I could send SMS with it on other devices.
Somehow, it's is the combination of those two together. Like you, except for getting the Voice Mail and Text Messages settings, I could receive SMS, call and get all the other network settings with the old SIM. With the new SIM, I can send SMS and get the Voice Mail and Text Messages settings.
but my problem appear after ROM upgrade, before that I used my SIM and phone for more than 2 month
also I used 2 other sims from other oparators and this operator non of them working

I know. I didn't have a problem either with my previous SIM on the stock 1.37 ROM. The problem appeared after flashing a 1.93 ROM. So if you want to keep using your current SIM's, or can't get a newer SIM, you can also flash back your previous ROM and see if that works for you..
Workaround

I have this problem too!
Although there's already a substitute card on the way...
My card's sms center works ok on normal phones, but not on diamond and ipaq 614c, testes some version's only...
BUT:
Today I tested it on a Qtek S200 with a WM6.1 and it worked fine! strange...
I found a HTC S730 and I have updated the ROM to WM 6.1 (Alc) But I cannot make any phonecalls or recieve any and I cannot recieve or send text messages. I have taken the phone to a local phone shop and he said the phone has been blocked, this is a very nice phone and I would like to use it too make calls, is there any way I can make the phone features work again?
Thanks in advance
Sammy
I suppose you are able to switch it on and get into home screen right? So, are you able to navigate through menus etc...? If you put a SIM card what happens? Is the phone able to find and log onto the network? Give more technical details. Not just conclusions of your tryings.
or as your last chance you could hard reset your phone, or flash another rom...
I think his radio is dead. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to get into writing SMS and then trying to send those, and failing... If the phone was locked, it wouldn't allow him to get into GUI or Home Screen. Or it would say that the SIM card is not accepted (locked to a specific network).
if it is Operator locked he need a SIM UNLOCK, but don't know if it is work for the wings...
Okay sorry about the lack of technical information. When I found the phone it had a password so I performed a hard reset by holding the two soft keys and pressing the power button, I then flashed the ROM to Alc's WM 6.1 . I inserted a T-Mobile sim card and on the phones home screen it says 3G T-Mobile and there is clearly signal but the phone will not make any calls or send text messages, is there anything I can do?
So what happens exactly when you press the Call button? Does it give any error message? Or it just doesn't do anything?
It looks like its about to ring then it just makes a beeping sound and says 'call ended' ive tried all sorts of different sims all with the same outcome.
When you brought it to the phone shop they told you the phone had been blocked, that possibly means the IMEI number of the phone is blocked so no sim would work in it.
Have a read of this

I never experienced IMEI blocked phones. However, if you can't make it work, there is one possibility. You can send it to me and I can try it here.
Hi,
I just bought a Mi 9 for my gf as Birthday gift and have a big problem with it.
We use her Simcard from her further phone, which works there without issues, but the Mi 9 just let her use Data on the simcard (internet). No calls or texts in-/ outbound are possible. It always shows that no mobile network is available.
I already readded all APNs (Internet, LTE, GPRS) and tried a couple different network settings (*#*#4636#*#*). I'm not sure why this issue appears and searched allover the internet. Seems like noone else have this problem.
Version is 11.0.2.0(QFAMIXM) with locked bootloader. Could it be that seller flashed something wrong, modem type or whatever? Carrier lock wouldn't let us use the actual sim right? My own sim as well just work with data so it need to be an issue with the phone.
Thanks in advance
Chris
Noone have any idea what the issue could be?
This seems like an operator related issue and probably has nothing to do with the Mi9. Try operator related forums for more help. The only thing that comes to mind is to get a new sim from the operator.

Question:
Does mi9 recognize the SIM Card? Does mi9 ASK for your SIM Card PIN? Or does mi9 say 'no SIM Card installed'?
Hi,
Sim is recognized and contacts shown. Sim pin is deactivated so the Phone don't ask.
Mobile Network is shown and active and data/ internet works. Its just the GPRS funtions (Text, Calls) which don't work. When I try to call I get the "Mobile Network isn't available" message and texts don't sent.
Thanks

The Sim works fine in another phone and my sim which works as well, shows the same errors in the Mi 9. So it must be an phone issue.

What operator do you use? What operators are the respective cards you have tried in the Mi9? Did you buy the phone from a private person and not new in a sealed package? In this case contact the seller.

Do you have 2 simcards installed?
You also might try to reset the modems, howto you can find when searching the forum
Just 1 sim installed. 2nd slot shows the same issues. Will check the forum for modem reset thanks.
Hi,
Weirdly the phone seem to have a Carrier Lock. My gf uses SMART Prepaid here on the Philippines and as said just mobile data was working. Yesterday she switched the SIM for testing to Globe and with this SIM everything works. 4G is available and calls/ texts work as they should.
I'm still confused about this. If the Phone would be carrier locked, should another Carrier SIM not be functional at all? I don't get why Data connections are working then.
For now the solution is to get another SIM. Probably let it unlock in a store.
Regards
Chris
