I've been using moto camera and gallery from a motog thread before this one came out.. Op there says that the slomo error it's a cm kernel issue.
update through Google Play
Google Play just offered an update for this Motorola camera app and it updated and still works fine! (even though I am using this version of the app flashed through recovery)
The update adds QR/barcode scanning, plus some other stuff. You can now use the camera as a QR/barcode scanner.
What's funny is Motorola says it's supported on the Moto Maxx and Moto Turbo on Lollipop 5.1.

Well, the ONLY way currently to get Lollipop 5.1 on the Moto Maxx or Moto Turbo is to flash a custom ROM like CM12.1. Motorola has NOT released Lollipop 5.1 for the Moto Maxx & Moto Turbo XT1225.
Is this an indication stock Lollipop 5.1 release is imminent?
But YES, it does work quite well on my custom Lollipop 5.1 ROM! -- because @Jaocagomez posted the app for us to use on CM12.1. Be sure to thank him for that! And go thank @Skrilax_CZ for giving us Lolllipop 5.1 via CM12.1.
No thanks to Motorola, who should have given us 5.1 same time they gave it to the Droid Turbo XT1254 back beginning of July. It's now almost September...

These are links to the original flashable zip file @Jaocagomez uploaded. You flash it in recovery, AFTER flashing CM12.1.
IF you flash a new nightly CM version, you will need to re-flash this again. (and take the Google Play update)
Perhaps @Jaocagomez can upload the updated app version?

COMFIRMED WORKING ON ALL CARRIER VARIATIONS OF THE MOTO X 2014
This build of Paranoid Android is an unofficial build of AOSPA 5.0 ALPHA-1
All credit goes to the wonderful AOSPA team and everyone who has volunteered their time and effort into AOSPA
BUGS/ISSUES
Possible signal dropping on AT&T (factory resetting and reflashing has seem to help)
Please let me know of any bugs
Everything seems to be working flawlessly including Ambient Display, GPS, camera, all sensors, audio...
Notes:
The reason I have not updated to alpha-2 is the same reason as every compiler hasn't. There is a problem in the source code and there is nothing I or anyone can do about it now until it is fixed by the big guys, thanks for understanding.
I noticed with this and other roms such as CM the keyboard vibration duration is off at default
I found that 15ms is a comfortable duration.
Any comments, questions, and suggestions are welcome.
INSTRUCTIONS/DOWNLOAD(S)

Fantastic news! Than you very much! [emoji111]
Quick question since you said nothing from CM, did PA develop their own version of theme manager?
Lastly, you mention all sensors working, it seems only the to right one does out of the 4 motion sensors, I believe that's same as CM
Thank you.

Yes theme manager is taken directly from CM. I was talking about the device tree, it has nothing from CM in it. When I said sensors I mean all the sensonrs like proximity, gyro, temp, light, etc. Nobody has gotten the IR sensors to work outside of stock yet.

So, I bought a Moto X XT1085 (Chinese Variant) a few days back and immediately rooted the thing off. After all was done, I read somewhere in this forum that a user successfully removed the Moto Voice (Chinese) and replaced the app with Moto Voice English from Play Store. I tried that but it just didn't work.
I went ahead (using Titanium Backup) created a backup of the app and removed Moto (parent v2.2.9). Installed the new one from the market (older version 2.0.20) which didn't work either. Every time I launch Moto Voice, it throws, "Unfortunately, Moto has stopped". The other Moto stuff (glance, actions, etc.) work fine. I cannot restore the backup now because Titanium Backup keeps on saying 'Restoring..' for ages but doesn't do anything.
After doing a few more things, the Moto app from the drawer crashes all the time I launch it. But, the glance, and action stuff still work.
What I am looking for is:
1. Any help on how to fix this. I will keep trying until I break something.
2. Is there a standalone pack (zip) which I can flash through recovery? I have tried looking.
The last option would be to flash a new rom, which I am not interested in. I am on 5.0.2 (Moto X came with it and it seems just fine).
Flash the US cellular version, is on zip ready to flash via TWRP and is 5.0.2 too. You won't lose any data or apps because is just a zip with system and boot images. I was on Chinese version too but was unable to make Google voice work so I flashed that version.
That is my last resort now. I did a few things and ended up breaking Moto Display from working.
Would you be so kind to share the link of that zip or something that you recall which will help me?
I will keep looking in the meantime.
Thank you.

I'm currently updating via recovery...I'll run the test for you once I get booted up...It's taking a while to flash the zip.
FYI, If you can't get ADB to work (like myself), you can update your phone with this OTA.zip via stock recovery. Once you get to the android guy laying on its back, hold power and then press volume up to get all the recovery options. From there you can choose "update from sdcard."
Can you post MD5 checksum?
@tjarvis did you receive this ota directly on your phone? Trying not to get stuck in a situation where I have to revert back to a stock image to upgrade to the official update. Release notes indicate this is probably not the official build that will be released to the public since version numbers differ.

MIUI 8 for Motorola Moto X 2014 (victara) based on PatchROM system and CM13, with all MIUI core functions working OOB.
Besides MIUI's core features, We've added an extended icon pack that is used on our official MIUIBrasil ROMs and changed the boot animation as well. Some minor fixes were also added.
Known issues:
Mobile network signal doesn't displays correctly sometimes (displaying as No SIM card), but still working anyway for calls, text and mobile data.
Some options on StockSettings doesn't work (mainly because of different CM userbase used to patch the final ROM, but is kept to allow users to control it's display more efficiently.
Root doesn't work OOB.
Lockscreen rotation issue (on MIUI lockscreen interface doesn't rotate). As temporary fix, after the first boot simply lock autorotation.
Xiaomi Apps Store can't be removed without putting the ROM into bootloop. It's the only reason the app is still there.
Thumbnails not displaying on recents screen.
How to install:
Have the latest TWRP recovery installed.
If this is your first time installing this ROM, do a factory reset, and don't forget to backup your files
Put the downloaded Zipfile into your phones internal storage and install it using TWRP.
This ROM already comes with a minimal version of Google Apps to avoid bootloops if using incompatible gapps packages.
