On Note 4 with Lollipop, slow motion video is totally laggy and low resoluted! On KITKAT, it was smooth and sharp... Has anyone this problem with his Note 4, too??

Is there a slow motion mode in the camera app in any of the JB roms, leaked official/custom? Is there any possibility that it will be present in the final version? Coming from a (now defunct) Dell Streak 5, I was pretty much determined to get the Note 1, because the low price nowadays and JB update (plus the added note 2 features) offset the Note 2's hardware advantages as far as I was concerned, but after recently seeing some slow motion videos taken with the Note 2, I just have to have that option.
Bump? Nobody opened the camera on the leaked JB ROMs to see if there's a slow motion mode?
i checked it but i don't see it anywhere in camera settings
Thanks! So the Note 2 it is, then
offcourse... loads of new features... but the sad part, galaxy s4 will launch with even more features :banghead:

Waiting.....
no it doesn't have slow motion cam...
and am waiting for the 5.7 inch note3...it will be better than s4
I made this thread in the Note 3 international by mistake. Has anyone noticed some slight stuttering when playing youtube videos? I've only tried HD videos but that really shouldn't matter. I had my note 2 with Cleanrom play back the same exact video side by side with the Note 3 and the Note 3 would stutter while the Note 2 was fluid. It's slight but it's still there.
The Note 2 also doesn't have the annoying slight stuttering when scrolling in any browser at about medium speed.
What's going on here people? This can't be normal.

I noticed this too (youtube). Seemed to do it on any video and would clean up on some, but not others. Might be 4.3 issues?? The browser issue has been hit or miss with people for a while.

I really hope whatever is causing this issue is determined and taken care of. I'm starting to wonder if they even test these phones before they release them.
Stuttering on two of the most used services on a smartphone (browsing and Youtube) just shouldnt be there and is unacceptable. The funny thing is is that the system itself doesn't stutter. All menus in settings scroll fluidly. Too bad I don't spend my whole time on a phone adjusting settings
Mine was doing this too yesterday after YouTube updated. Seems like a restart fixed the issue.

How does the slow motion video recording work on your phones?
On mine it is really crappy, the slow motion videos are recorded in 30fps in real time, which results in 15fps slow motion playback.
Is that it, or am I missing something? Because currently the slow motion recording is pretty much useless...
Also, on Motorola support page I can see this: Slow Motion Capture 720p 60fps, but it is definitely not happening on my phone.
I am on stock ROM, unrooted., using stock camera app.

Mate, it will be very useful if you give info about your phone, ROM and kernel. Are you use stock moto x camera?
On my Moto X it works good. But I view it only on phones screen. I am using Krypton 1.4 rom with 05 krypton kernel.
I think it's useless to expect from moto x the gorpo quality videos.

Maybe, but at least the frame-rate should be sufficient, to call it a slow motion recording, and according to the specs it is, but for some reason on my device it's not on par with the specs.
I've been comparing my iPhone 6 Plus lately to my Galaxy Note 4 and I've noticed that the Note 4 is not as smooth as iOS for the same games... (i.e. Galaxy On Fire 2 HD, ShadowGun, Terraria, etc)
I've also installed GLTools which enables a framerate counter and much to my surprise, it looks like most games on the Note 4 are locked at 30 FPS! I've used GLTools to change the render resolution which definitely works, but the framerate still stays at 30 FPS.
How can I remove this or change it to 60 FPS?
I've done some searching and I see lots of articles about Android being locked to 30 FPS...
Try this kernel iPhone user:

I just received the update of slo mo on my S8 and compared to Note 9, it's way superior.
The field of view is more and clarity especially in artificial light is night and day. Both are recording at the same resolution though and note 9 can't even seem to focus and is a blurry mess.
Anyone else received this update and compared it?
Have you actually compared the frame rates? The S8 can do [email protected] and the Note 9 can do [email protected] and [email protected] That's quite a difference. The higher the frame rate, the more light is required, hence the result you are seeing.

He's referring to the new update with super slow motion which appears to capture at 480fps but video samples I've seen so far indicate it is interpolated from 240fps as there are odd video artifacts and stutters.

In the comments a user said they determined the frame rate is only 480fps but also agrees it is probably interpolated from 240fps.

The reason it looks "better" and doesn't flicker is that it's just taking the 240fps video and slowing it even further through interpolation. For most people this won't be a big problem but you're not getting "real" 480fps. You could try interpolating the 1080p240fps on the Note 9 using motion interpolation programs (such as Twixtor or some plugins in Avisynth). Off the top of my head I don't know any Android apps that do this.
So as I said, the S8 does [email protected] and the note 9 is capable of much more. Note 9 appears worse as the frame rate is higher.
