I have just purchased this Samsung GTi 9305 LTE from a mate. I found out then that it was rooted, but not correctly. I used Rootchecker to tell me. The Security manager kept telling me also that it was blocking Supersu.
Oops. Just done a factory reset on this S3 Gti9305 (LTE) and all I am getting now is the blue notification light on and the Samsung logo just going light and dark blue.
I tried to then do a recovery, with all the buttons held down, it starts with a green warning;
A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. ( Yeah, just found out)
If you want to download a custom OS, press vol up key, if not, vol down and restart. ( which it doesn't).
I remember disabling Supersu, and unticking the security manager warning box. I put in the correct sim card, factory reset, and since then it will not start.
Phone was on Uk EE, but was unlocked for previous owner. The replacement sim is GiffGaff- running on UK O2 lines.
When hooked up to pc and Kies 3, the phone was not recognized and I was notified that the usb device is not working. When usb lead is in phone, it shows that it is charging, so lead looks to be ok.
Is this what you call a brick? Or just in a bootloop mode ??
I rooted my S3 GTi9300 ok and put on Omnirom v5.
Any help would be appreciated, so I can throw the phone back at mate.
Thank you.

Hi,
You should use ODIN v3.09 and flash a i9305 official firmware (4.1.2, 4.3 or 4.4.4). You can search on samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com.
IMPORTANT : If you don't want KNOX BL because of warranty purpose, don't flash official 4.3 or 4.4.4 via ODIN.
Don't forget to install Samsung usb drivers on your computer.
For instance, you can follow that guide from MaHo_66 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...sions-t2694249

just flash a stock firmware via odin..
I had the exact same problem after some unsuccessful attemts to root my s3 lte!
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Free mobile app
Non start up after factory reset. Bricked ??
Thanks for help. All sorted.
If your phone stuck on boot after flash stock via odin, go to recovery and make a full vipe and factory reset. Some devices unable to boot first after reflash stock.
you can watch here how to install rom via odin.

Hi all. I bought a Note for a friend of mine in June here in Italy. It hadn't ICS but, as known, I told him that later on he would have seen a message stating that there were an update. I told him to download it through Wi-Fi, and then appling it while the phone was plugged in or the battery fully charged. Just to be clear: he has got a computer but he barely know how to turn it on, so I'm absolutely sure he never changed the ROM with a custom one.
Yesterday he downloaded (I suppose 4.0.4 ... or 4.0.3: I don't know what is available here in Italy) and applied it but the phone, but then the phone never turned on again. If I turn it on, I can see the boot screen (Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000) forever ... I tried to enter into recovery: I verified it still has 3e so, as I suppose, nothing was changed. I tried to wipe data/factory reset but nothing changed.
How's this possible? There something I could try before returning it to Samsung? Thank you in advance.

I'm quite sure it has never been rooted, my friend said so and I think he couldn't be able to root it ...
I can't be 100% sure since I don't know if another friend of him putted his hands on it ...
Anyway, there's no yellow triangle on boot, this could let me sure that it has never been rooted?
Otherwise, since the a3 recovery is working, could I put a stock ICS on the SD card and apply the update without void warranty? TY.
Hi everyone. I have a rooted Galaxy Note 1. I accidentally tried to update something (the phone said there was an Android update or something) and now my phone in stuck in a bootloop showing the Android logo. When I try to reset it (volume+home+power buttons) it goes to an Odin "Downloading..." screen and gets stuck on that.
I've seen some stuff about unbricking the phone using Odin to return to the original stock rom. But from what I can tell, there are different stock roms available depending on your Country Sales Code (CSC). So apparently I need to look in Kies for my CSC to know which rom to download, but Kies doesn't recognise the phone, I guess because it's bricked. I know the phone is from the UK, but I don't know what network it came from (I bought it second hand). All I know is that it is unlocked now.
I have CWM.zip, CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip, and franco.Kernel-r5.zip on the micro SD card from when I was rooting it ages ago. Do these have anything to do with fixing it?
Any ideas on where I go from here? Thanks for your help.
Which volume button did you press ? You need volume up + home + power to get into recovery.
You can flash any rom from any region using odin.
Same problem
Hey,
Thanks for helping me in advance...
I used the Custom ROM (( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626 )) Ultimate N7000 for a long time. However this build became more and more unstable the longer I used my phone.
So I decided to go back to STOCK.
So I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
And everything went well (Odin didnt give any errors)
However after reboot... the problem began... I cant turn my phone on anymore.... It seems to be stuck in a bootloop....
How can I fix this?? please help me
Which rom did you flash? If you flashed JB, boot into recovery and wipe data. Then reboot.
I have been trying to fix the random reboots that came with the SpaceX kernal for Note 5 N920C and now I cannot boot my phone.
I have tried wiping all data and clearing cache. I cannot find a stock kernel.

Your phone should now tell you that you have no operating system. And that should be why you're stuck in a bootloop. In this case you will need to install the original firmware back on your phone and start the rooting process over again. The easiest way to reinstall the original operating system is to use Samsung Smart Switch on PC.

If you use Samsung Smart Switch, it will ask you for the model of your phone, and the Serial number. Then it will find the right firmware for you. The way you would get to that information on your phone is to boot in download mode.
"While the phone is off, press and hold the volume down button, power button, and home button at the same time. As soon as the phone starts to boot, let go of the power button while STILL holding the volume down, and home button."
Your phone should boot into a minty greenish screen. Press the volume down button again and it should give you the SN for the phone. That should help in locating the correct firmware for your phone.
Flash my SkyHigh kernel and should boot. Will auto root again.
Link ? Search. ..

If you mean the SM number, I have that along with an IMEI and other information that came with the phone. Right now my problems seem to be:
Cannot flash any custom ROMs because I get stuck on "NAND write start!!" on ODIN. I have tried multiple ROMs, multiple USB ports and multiple versions of ODIN.
My computer drivers for my phone seem to fail after about a minute of using my phone causing my phone to be seen as an unrecognized device. I have tried re-installing the drivers many times.
When I go into smart switch it never recognizes my phone. When I plug it in on the Download Screen it just says "Connecting..." and eventually says my device is unsupported.
Okay, here is an update.
I tried initializing my phone after smart switch failed to connect to my device and after putting in a serial and model name it says that the N920C does not support initializing.

hi,
As far as i know Smart Switch does not support./work on rooted devices..?
I might be wrong, but this is what i have read in other similar threads/post in past.
Plse check, this fact to be sure, otherwise you wasting time trying to get it to work.
Good luck
post note.
Stock kernel is included in stock Rom.
If you try to flash old stock Rom it apparently won't work(re bootloader updated etc) . It has to be the correct latest stock Rom for your particular device! not just any Rom..?
I also noted it has to be Odin v 3. 10.7 ? something /i believe.
plse note
i can't really say for sure as,
My Note5 is not rooted...... yet all my other devices ..... Note 2.. 3....4 is !
O, yes i also have N920 C device (not rooted) and Smart Switch works fine.

It kind of sounds like zit is a driver problem. You said you did a full wipe of data and operating system on phone. So I wonder if it could also be the type of firmware you are trying to install? I would try to install a fresh copy of the new stuff firmware from Sam mobile or smart switch in order to make sure all the drivers are pm running properly. @wilcor I agree with you 100%. I am a little confused as to why the phone would fail when installing roms or fresh firmware??
Ok, thanks everybody I eventually got this problem sorted. I called samsung and they told me what country my device was from and after that I made sure I used ODIN 3.10.7 and the ROM for AFGHANISTAN and it installed successfully. Thank you for all your help.
I recently did the latest update to my T-mobile Note 4 upon updating the phone, the phone was in a constant boot loop and finally installed the update to the device. Upon installing the new software update to the phone it began the reboot loop and eventually started up I received one text message and it began to loop again and now it will not turn on. None of the button combinations will turn the phone on it is not accepting a charge either. I put the battery in another note 4 and it works fine and shows 79 percent of the battery is charged. What can be done to get the phone to wake up out of it's current state most of the pictures were salvaged with drop box, but it did not update from a family funeral yesterday with several pictures and those are important. Has anyone had this issue before and what was done to fix it?

A few questions I would ask to be able to help would be:
Which baseband/bootloader/version were you on and which upgrade was your Note IV attempting to install?
Are you rooted or stock?
When you say that it bootlooped a bunch and then "finally installed the update", was that with no user interaction at all? seems odd to me for a bootloop to repeat and then randomly work.
If I were you and after pulling battery for 30 seconds doesnt work and holding down home+power+volume up, then try plugging it into a USB port on your computer and see if it recognizes it. Make sure your PC has latest samsung usb drivers.

All stock the last update performed was for that security hole android had on the android 5.1.1. What I mean is that during the install the phone kept restarting and restarting and then it installed the updates and went to the home screen. When it reached the home screen it showed me one text and I went on charging the phone thinking it was normal woke up this morning the phone was off yet the battery still has 79 percent when placed in another note 4 phone. I tried plugging into the pc the phone isn't recognized because it does not turned on it says unrecognizable usb device and I installed the latest samsung drivers as well I've tried those button combinations as well as pulling the battery. I'm wondering if the update corrupted something prohibiting it from booting it doesn't take a charge either when connected to the wall it's almost like the phone is in a stale state.

I haven't tried kies I tried smart switch though and the phone wasn't detected I'll try kies as well. I'll be back with an update appreciate the help.
Kies didn't work because the phone can't be recognize by the program the computer makes a noise knowing when the phone is connected but the screen on phone doesn't turn on I can't even get it to boot up or accept a charge and the battery is nearly full given that I put it in another phone to check. I've tried even starting the phone up with no battery using direct charger as primary source but it didn't work. I'm not sure how the update fried my phone, but I'm going to be losing some important pics drop box didn't sync yesterday during a family funeral.
That is just really ****ty luck. They say there is always a small chance that flashing anything can cause epic partition disasters. If kies is detecting it but saying it's unable to connect then I'd say the phone is toast. You might be able to get Odin to recognize it and reflash the entire ROM, but that would obviously destroy any data you had on the device previously. Might look into doing an adb pull or backup but being realistic with expectations, I'd say the chances of them working considering what you've done is minimal.
Since you're on stock anyways I'd just go warranty exchange it if you can. Not worth dicking around with Odin if you are stock.
Sorry I couldn't be more help but I would take this opportunity to seriously get yourself a cloud based automatic backup so you don't have to worry about these things anymore. I had something similar happen to me and I lost all my data and now it all syncs to my ex_sdcard and Dropbox haha..can never be too sure

Yeah I never flashed anything it was an over the air update basically that went bad. The last time I flashed software using odin I didn't lose any of my information it stayed on the internal memory and was there still. It truly is sad they roll out an update over air and it bricks your phone makes no sense.

When trying to root or enter recovery I get recovery is not Seandroid enforcing set warranty bit recovery and boot loop

I have a t-mobile 910T note 4. I will try kies again not sure what my bootloader is or was I'm just trying to do what ever i can to preserve the data on phone will flashing stock again delete the internal I know with root with my other note 4 it didn't. This phone was never rooted the over the air update boot looped the phone
I would definitely try using kies or even adb from command to see if you can pull the data from it. Flashing a full firmware will wipe all data Yeah so I'd use that as a last resort

On this forum I have found just the bootloader available to down load if I download the full rom is it going to wipe the internal memory here is the link I'm referring to http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/mirror-stock-tw-t3260858
I think I might have it figured out just need clarity on if flashing just the bootloader will do the trick I also got a set warranty kernel on boot last time as well.
If it were me I'd install the following:
Twrp custom recovery : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347792887
Make sure you have latest drivers from Samsung. Flash twrp and see if you can boot into recovery and then either wipe cache or flash a bootloader zip from there. At the very least you could pull files from it once in recovery

I would visit your local tmobile store and have them look at it. Besides smartswitch they have a program they can run and possibly restore your phone before it gets totally borked up.
This could help justify rma with Samsung.

I know if I can get the recovery on the phone I can get the pictures on to my pc because I had a phone that was android locked that I did myself and rooted recovery and was able to get the pc to see and transfer files to pc so why is it showing this image am I doing something wrong?

I've flashed everything I've been told to flash I still get the boot loop and the stupid se android reinforcing set recovery or set kernel etc currently it's recovery if I try to initiate recovery via the buttons it just boot loops

No problem, start the update with Odin again. You just have to press vol down + power 7 sec and put the cell phone back in download.
Vol. Down+ bixby+power, when start vol up
When using emergency recovery be sure to use capital letters for any letters in your serial number. Good luck with your soft brick.

a bit late reply but nevertheless for others who have the same problem like you and me, just solved it. so what I did: after my odin update was interrupted accidentally my phone also showed please use smart switch emergency recovery screen. downloaded smart switch but could not emergency recover (unsupported device problem - seems to me smart switch could not see my phone properly). after searching the web (that's how I found this thread ) and not finding any solutions i tried different tricks and found out that odin sees my phone but cant initialize firmware update since phone was not in download mode (after bixby+dwnload btn+pwr and pressing continue, the screen returned to please use smart switch emergency recovery screen) but I did not give in and did the following to successfully update my firmware:
1. start odin (place respective files in respective fields of your firmware), you wont be able to initialize the process while please use smart switch emergency recovery screen is shown;
2. connect your phone to odin and press bixby+dwnload btn+pwr combination the way to see options - volume down to shut down the phone (but you wont be able to shut it down it will return to that terrible screen) and press volume up to continue, after pressing the continue button you will hear that connection sound and this time you will be able to initialize the process and update your firmware.
good luck everybody on restoring your soft bricked Samsung devices (mine was unlocked note 8 (SM-N950U1).
