If you are on cyanogenmod.. You can wake up device by pressing volume buttons too...!!

DT2W is not available for MI3, hw support is missing. use volume buttons.

Some developers are working on it, here's a proof that it is possible.

WOW!! That's amazing, waiting for it to be available & see the impact of it on battery life.

power button options

is there a way to add options when we long press the power button? optionto not only shutdown the phone but also reboot.
The CyanogenMod (CM7) ROM, does this. If you can live with that ROM (or any ROM based on that), I can highly recommend this one from wgspoelstra.
does it have the 64RAM hack (freeing up an extra 64 mb ram)
Yes, CM7 uses the vorkKernel which has this hack.
thanks! i have the WGSPOELSTRA on my phone, working great, i am on v.26, i haven't updated to the latest because i'm seeinig some negative feedback on the release
It would be great to use the volume buttons to unlock the screen.
Anyone knows if it could be plausible?
i can't find it again...i knew i found an option that does that... now i'm not sure if it's in the slick custom roms or the WGSPOELSTRA's

Whilst it is possible with stock it's a lot of framework edits. I took a look and hacked together a reboot proof of concept... you have to call an existing function and LG have obfuscated this function in their framework...

WidgetLocker supports this.

Brilliant. I love LG 2X but the power button at the top and volume buttons on the right are a big fail in my opinion. I might be too use to the layout on SGS.
Having said that I don't mind if there is a workaround and this for me is perfect. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but I can not understand what you mean. With this rom as you wake the phone?
Exactly. You cannot wake the phone with the trackball or volume rocker with this rom yet. Maybe with the next update the developer will implement this feature.

[REQ] double tap to wake

is it possible to implement this feature in one of the kernels like doomkernel or something?
this feature allows you to wake up your device by double tapping on the lockscreen, as seen on the lg g2. i think it would be great as i have had bad experiences with loost buttons after repeated pressing.

no. forcing screen to remain active to touch on tft screen that would be a big batery usage... even if someone cn do that it wil be alot of probs.. just my point of view~~

MI5 - CM13, restore soft touch of home button?

Running Miui on my new Xiaomi Mi5, there was a really nifty feature where you could "soft touch" the home button to use is as the "home" button (instead of having to "click" it down).
It was a very useful thing! Is there a way of restoring this functionality in CM 13? I've worked out how to swap the back and menu buttons already, but haven't been able to find anything about this.

There are plenty of answers about this. It can be implemented only when kernel sources will be released.
Some new about it?
It's the only feature that I miss on my CM on Mi5.
Man, so glad to see this question here.
I'm sick of seeing the same ol' question being asked everywhere in the CM thread, spamming all around it.
Let the devs to their work. It's being developed here, so when it fully works will be added to the build. For now, it's GREAT to have official CM for our device. I'm keeping MIUI until it's good to go and to switch, BUT... I'm waiting
I would like soft home button as well.
Hope good devs will make it work one day
As a temporary solution, you can use this:

Download fingerprint quick action in google play
The cyanogenmod maintainers for mi 5 are working on it

Xiaomi Mi5 CM Button reassignment.

Hi all.
Currently running CM13 Unofficial on my Mi5.
It appears as though my hardware home button on my Mi5 has failed... Hard press does nothing....
This started on my previous ROM 16/09/2016, and continues on my new ROM 22/09/2016.
I strongly suspect this is a hardware issue rather than a software issue...
My question for you guys is how do I reassign buttons? Is it possible to make the right capacitive (currently app switcher) the home button?
Also, my preferred button to use as a home button would be the soft capacitive touch on the fingerprint scanner on the home button so i can retain my app switcher button....
Any help guys is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
When Xiaomi releases Kernel Source there will be an option for non physical home button. On rr you can reassign more options to your buttons. Cm does not work on my device.

If your home button is broken, then maybe you should enable 'on screen' (software) buttons from Buttons submenu in Settings?
Capacitive touch is not going to work on prebuilt kernel (every ROM so far, wait for CM's big update).

Have done so. Cheers for the suggestion.. I didn't know this option existed!
As for the capacitive buttons not working, I've seen this mentioned a number of times... My capacitive buttons have always worked since flashing CM?

Yeah, fingerprint to unlock and such.. What about touching (not pressing) home button to return to the launcher? That's what everybody wants to have (and waits for proper kernel)

OK... Thats what I don't have...
Thanks for clarification.
Any idea when there's likely to be a build with this baked in?
