Hey SXL-Users,
for all they have a black screen during calls, because the proximity sensor seems to be covered. (e.g. roms based on cyanogenmod)
I solved this by the app "Proximity Sensor Finder" (you find it in app store) in which I set the "proximitiy value when covered" at 0.0
Now I can display switch on/off with the power button ! Finaly! I can end a call by myself!
I hope it helps someone else
... In addition, no, the hardware is not broken! The light sensor and proximity sensor are reversed through the custom ROM.
FORGET THE FIRST POST!!!
The solution was this app !! A description can be found in YouTube at:
"Disable proximity sensor on android" by tech 4tress
I can't post a link. Maybe an other one can link the Video.

...in /system/lib/hw/sensors.mahimahi.so defines the device name of the proximity sensor, normally /dev/cm3602.
Hexedit the file to change the name of the device to something that doesn't exist, and you will no longer use the proximity sensor.
Is anyone able to disable the "gp2a - proximity/light sensor" from within "sensors.default.so" and/or "sensors.goldfish.so" so that people suffering from White Screen bug don't get white screen when answering or making a phone call. This is in regards to CM11 port by TheWhisp.
I tried using app "Hardware Disabler" to disable the driver which worked however it also crippled the phones processing speed and was too slow to be usable.
Would greatly be appreciated if someone could upload/attach the modified file/s

How else do you unlock it at the moment ? It has always been touch screen to unlock. Turn on ambient display for single touch to wake or enable double tap to wake and scan fingerprint.
Yeah , camera definitely could be better with the current hardware it has.
Google phone app can be installed via flashing the Google Dialer Framework magisk module
There's no better option because there's no option at the moment Hoping for a real always on display implementation. That would be great.

Ah yes, direct unlock would be nice. Most china phones have them.
On my realme x2pro the proximity sensor does not work well, the screen is periodically off and on during the conversation. Are there custom firmwares with the ability to completely disable the proximity sensor? In cdroid, it is possible to disable sensors selectively for any application, but this does not apply to the proximity sensor (. Also, in any android11 firmware, you can display the disable button for all sensors in the shutter: for developers -> items in quick settings -> disable sensors, and this will really turn off the proximity sensor, and others, but then the camera stops working (
Hello, I am new owner of Pixel 7.
-I came from Huawei P30 and on that phone when I touched the screen (when it was off) it inmediatelly scanned my finger and unlocked/opened the device. Is this also possible on Pixel phones? I havenĀ“t found it in the settings.
-How can I set the blue eye filter to turn on and off automatically at desired time?
Thank you.
Hey, you can with the app AoD notify (Notification Light for Pixel). But you need to use an adb command. It uses you always on display and replaces it with his own (black one) So you have a completly Black AoD and the fingerprint scanner is always on.
You have to use the settings like in the Attachment.

Those attachments aren't English. No idea what they are showing.
Neither do I but what does 'patched you are finished' mean? Hmm..
Don't need no battery chewing app, just turn on the AOD that's it. Without AOD, you just need to tap or lift the phone, which is enough in most cases.
My problem is the fingerprint icon is below the actual sensor. So i have to intentionally place the thumb in higher position.
