Arm band for those of us who like to keep active. - G4 Accessories

http://www.supcase.com/lg-g4-sport-fit-armband-case-combo.html
I've never used a sport armband, but did consider getting one for my G3, though I was unable to find one that seemed like it would be worth buying. This one appears to be a quality armband for the G4, though, from Supcase. I was a fan of their Unicorn Beetle case on the Nexus 5 and would consider getting it for the G4 if I didn't have the leather back (I did email them, though, to see if they'd consider making a true, backless bumper case).

SPIbelt
I don't know about armbands, I've never used one. I use a SPIbelt and really like it. Right now the 2014 models are 25% off.

Do these stay on well when weight lifting? I'm thinking the arm is changing size a lot when doing upper body stuff.

I've no idea how well these work, but obviously some people like them. I recently purchased a flip belt, though.

Who will build the first rugged case?

I'm rough on my devices. They're usually in an OB, Gumdrop, or Ballistic case. W/ that said, who do you think will be the first to build a rugged case for the N7.
I had an OB Defender for my SGT 7.0 and it was perfect. (back when OB was still pumping out quality for Android devices).
Sure they add some bulk to a device but I need that bulk and protection.
Honestly I hope Gumdrop builds one for it also. Messaged them about it, but haven't heard anything. Have had their cases for the SGT 10.1's. Both the military and standard (had three 10.1's). Really no difference except color. W/ that said, I like theirs a little more than OB's designs.
Ballistic I'm torn about. They have great prices, but man oh man those corner...knobs....could really be trimmed down some. Looks like a 4 pocket pool table.
Maybe even Trident or Incipio will get in the game. Or possibly some unknown. All I know is, I look fwd to SOMEONE, ANYONE putting out a quality non folio case. (Not the folio or TPU type, b/c IMHO they offer very little protection.)
I'm actually all of these companies combined and I can tell you I'm making them simultaneously. I'll be charging a $560 pre-order price and you'll get it next year.
Sorry EmilVee but Fred Mucklethwaite of Warmington on Sea is already making them from old car tyres and superglue, plans to get them to market early next week. Shortly after that Mr Chan will be knocking out 5000 copies a day from a shed in his back garden in Shenzen.
BobjGear is on line for September availability.
I've got 3 of his super durable, super protective cases already for my Toshiba Thrive.
They add a bit of weight and bulk, but they're the best protection you'll find.
I just got my nexus 7 yesterday, but I'm also ready for a rugged case. I'm not rough on my devices. I'm actually the opposite. I baby them, but I like the extra piece of mind and assurance that a rugged case offers. I also prefer the feel and look of a rugged case on a device. I contacted gumdrop, ballistic and trident. They all said that they weren't working on a case for the nexus 7 right now. But I'm sure with the popularity of the nexus, that there will be plenty of cases before long.

I have a Seidio for my Atrix 4G, and am looking to get the same thing for the Nexus 7. The combination of soft and shell/hard case with the Seidio line has been my preference over Otterbox for some time.

bodyglove case

http://shop2.sprint.com/NASApp/onli...ryID=CZS5478Q&topPageNumber=0&subPageNumber=0 im going to try this out tomorrow, had one for the galax.1 and the infuse, slim and good protection and grip,of course i will get screen protectors!!
I bought this case at the Sprint store the day I bought my phone just to have something to protect it in until I figured out what I wanted to do as a long term solution. This case ended up being that long term solution. It is very light and thin yet I feel provides a lot of protection on the corners and sides of the phone as well as protruding higher than the glass front of the phone in case the phone is dropped face first. I like the texture on the back of the case a lot in terms of my ability to hang on and use the phone with one hand. This case is a keeper in my opinion.

I also got this same case on release day, it's good case the design on the back gives it good grip. Like stated before it is keeper. But for me I gonna go with something a bit thinker just so I have a piece of mind. hopefully BG makes a tactic style case like the one for the gs3.
these don't look bad in the glacier color.
http://www.otterbox.com/Samsung-Gal...eries-Case/sam4-galaxy-note-2,default,pd.html
Picked one up from sprint as well and i really like it Offers nice protection, grip, and feel. I also got it to hold me over until i found a case i wanted for long term but may end up keeping it, it all depends on if my flygrip sticks well to that textured back.

Any chance this is available for international customers?
The body glove that is.
I too picked one of these up at a Sprint store. I had to go to an official sprint store, the affiliate store I checked first said there weren't any cases being made yet. I paid $26. I agree with the above comments, it's quite nice, although I'll go with a water resistant (siedo/otterbox) whenever it comes out. I did have to trim the top edge of a couple of my microusb cables, I thought about trimming the case but it's pretty thin there, and I only had to very slightly bevel the plastic of the cable. I've had the same problem with my Nexus 7 so no biggie.
Yeah i just bought one too and this thing is too flimsy for my taste. I got spoiled by the Speck case for my Note 1. But i had to patience. Couldnt keep my phone in a plastic box for 2 weeks.
I would LOVE to have a Speck - the Speck case for my 80G Ipod looks like a tire!

Yep, I like this case a lot also but can't find it in France or elsewhere in Europe...
Also, this case isn't super rubbery feeling. If that's what you're looking for then this case isn't for you. Personally, I don't care for silicone cases because they get stuck in my pocket and and too rubbery feeling. This case is a bit more pvc feeling and isn't rubberized. I didn't think I would like it, but it's pretty solid. It's a bit more expensive though.
This looks close to what I am looking for. Is it one piece? Seems like it would just slide out ?

Yes it's one piece. Goes on like a TPU case does, just wraps around the phone

the only disadvantage is it doesn't have the raised areas over the buttons. that's key on the samsung case. I would much rather have the textured back on this one though. It feels great overall, slim, light, and makes the phone feel solid. I wish there was some compromise between them.
So has anyone found a way to get the body glove outside US? It seems to be perfect for my needs. Slimmer and prettier than the samsung tpu case. I've searched but nobody ships it to Europe. Is Sprint the only store selling it? Do you think the case will become available wider or should I just buy the samsung tpu?

I like the case too. You can order from sprint.com no matter where you live or order over the phone from them.
My cousin just got the GNII 2 days ago, and he too rapped it with the Bodyglove case. So far he likes the case a lot. For me when I get the GNII on 12/1, I will be going the Otterbox Commuter series case route. I will not take any chances when dropping $299 with a 2 year attachment, lol...
I have one, feels awesome. Just wish it had the covers over the buttons. other than that, no complaints
Hate
I hate the cases with covers over the buttons. Takes away from the feel of the phone and having to press extra hard to get a response from the buttons sucks. I have never had a BG cover that I have ever liked. Seen this one on the Sprint sight when I ordered it and it looked good so I gave it a shot. I have had 6 different TPU cases on other phones and this case is the best I have used. So I don't find it a down fall at all the buttons are not covered. Plenty of grip. Raised areas cover the camera and screen edge perfectly. Get it and you wont be disappointed! :good:

A genuinely tough case for the beast

I know I don't have a lot of posts, but I've been a long time lurker and have been assisted a great deal by these forums(Hince the screen name: Got the original Droid X on pre-order).
I'm having a difficult time finding accesories for my new Note II (just received it Wednesday). I want to get this protected ASAP as this one will be with me for a long time. I need something that could give it a chance to survive a fall from a table to a concrete floor. Obviously I'll be as careful as possible, but I need to prepare for the worst.
I'm familiar with Otterbox, and while this was my knee-jerk reaction of a choice, I want something that might be at least a little different and maybe have a little style without looking like I'm going to a rave with how much neon is thrown on it. Plus I've read all of the reviews on the built in screen protector being garbage, and I don't want to be forced to buy a screen protector with a case that provides one because the built in one is garbage.
I saw that UAG is coming out with one, but their design is disappointing now that they went with the 'iPad' design as opposed to the iPhone/GS3 design (this would probably be my pick if they did).
I like the idea of the Sweet Armor case, but $70 is a bunch of money for a bumper. I have been looking around, and I think if I could find something like LunaTik's Taktik case, I would probably jump all over it.
Any and all help with a direction towards a case that will be tough enough to handle a warehouse floor and a toddler would be great. Thank you in advance!

I assume @rbiter is talking about the Complete Ultra dba case -- the ultra case is a normal tpu style case w/o the exoskeleton cross-member.
In that case (no pun intended) you can find a whole bunch of pictures/opinions from S3 owners of that case in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919350&highlight=dba
I got it for my gf's S3 and she loves it.
She has never dropped the phone though.
I saw you mentioned that you don't want to go with Otterbox, and one of the reasons was that you didn't want to deal with the screen-protector -- that others didn't like.
Otterbox makes a "Commuter" case, that, unlike the "Defender", does not include the built in screen-protector, or come as a two piece install. But, it does come with a seperate screen protector. You can check out a thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036565
However, I guess that doesn't solve the problem of "style"....
I'll agree there; the Otterbox line has become stale, but is still an extremely viable solution for protection.

Thanks for the suggestions Brad.
I had a Commuter on my Droid X. It may end up being the one I go with, but I figured there we be so much more of an evolution since then on cases for 'premium' phones. I wouldn't mind spending the money for a good looking case that would also provide superior protection. I'm not going the folio route because I just don't like the idea on a phone that I use as a camera regularly (work and home).
I've got the sweet armor case. It's disappointing. The GPS suffers a bit though I didn't notice a reduction in phone signal. 2 big disappointments were the feel. It has very sharpe edges which makes holding it uncomfortable and the top edge hurt my ear when talking. The second issue is it makes the phone wider which combined with the sharp edges makes the phone harder to use 1 handed. For the money it's not worth it at all.
Get the commuter. Best case in my opinion.

If i'm going with that, I have to find a Best Buy around me that still has one in stock. I have 2 Reward Zone Certs. I need to use. I may have to track one of those down or the Defender just as an expensive carry over until another one of the suggested is available.
I ordered my cases from amazon.co.uk and amazon.de since I live in Europe. They are also available in amazon.com.

I'm at a loss too and frankly it kinda pisses me off. My wife is pissed I sold her ipad 1 because it was slow and the browser crashed all the time, just to get a nexus that is buggy as **** and crashes all the time, like frequent full on crashes. To top it off, there's no such thing as a decent case for it and probably won't be for a long time. I had a sweet otterbox for the ipad, why the **** does the world have to revolve around damn apple products. Why are there 500 awesome cases in 500 colors available 5 months before a new ipad is even announced.
And why the **** does Google have such a buggy ass flagship device.
Fix this buggy PoS and give me a damn rugged case already. A quality one. Not another one of these damn flippy magnet cheap flimsy cases that are all copies of each other.

Where is the love?
I'm kinda Pi&&ed too!! I figured that Google would have accessories available for their Flagship device. We get NO LOVE from the manufacturers like the freaking iPad does!!! Only cheap crappy covers for a device that is suppose to be cutting edge. I just bought a Noreve cover and it's nice, but it's the only cover I have found that is nice, there are no other choices that are as high a quality. I will certainly think twice before purchasing my next device from Google, not to mention the other "glitches"...

Sorry - missed that. A shame that one isn't coming out from Otterbox or Seido. I've got the extended convert combo on my GNex now -- fantastic -- and I could easily see me using something like that on my N10. Still haven't settled on a case myself yet. Still using a neoprene slip case I picked up on day one from Five Below (as you can imagine, it cost me $5). Protects the N10 fairly well when I'm carrying it or not using it, but it's clearly a temporary measure. Really not excited by any of the case options out there -- only one that looks appealing to me is the Noreve Tradition, but I'm not about to spend $110 on a tablet case. Ah well...the search continues.
After the terrible quality of the Poetic Slimcase I will not get another poetic case. Very rarely have I seen a case that does damage to the device its trying to protect.

That's a shame -- I like the overall design of the case, but hesitate to order it based on those reports and the comments that it's SO tight. Disappointing too, in that my son has the same model case on his Nexus 7, and it's excellent: perfect fit - not too tight or loose, no damage to the tablet, very convenient, nicely finished. My son tends to be pretty hard on his belongings (6'4" teenager), uses the tablet several times a day, and the case is holding up beautifully so far. If I thought the experience would be the same for the Nexus 10, I'd order one now.

I wish stores like Staples and Walmart would stock some of these cases so we could actually see them close up and try them - and return them immediately if necessary without having to ship back and forth. It was great to get my N10 locally from Walmart, and I'd love to be able to do that with accessories too.

The Poetic Revolution case may LOOK cheap and nasty, but it is certainly not. I own it, and have used it every single day for three months. I'm also Active Duty, so trust me when I tell you it gets plenty of use...far beyond what it was originally designed to handle, I'm sure. Now, Its no Seidio Active case but it sure aint bad for $20. The ONLY bad things I can say about it is that it comes with a built-in heavy duty screen protector that is just garbage, and it bulks up the tablet a bit (which i actually like) Thankfully however, the cheesy screen protector punches out very easily. Get an ArmorSuit Military Shield screen protector to go with it and be done with it.
Bright side is you're only out $30 or so until somebody makes a better case. How much to replace that big 10.1 inch screen if you drop it without the $30 case?

One more new case for LG G2, Slimmest case out there, almost no lip, rubbery coating.

I am a case hater(screen protectors too). I never had a case on any of my 50+ smartphones for the past 4 years. Every case I buy will have something that turns me off or disappoints me. After several days of use. I take it off and never put it on. It is clearly waste of money and no protection at all for the phone. Recently I cracked 2 of my phones(Note2 and G2). And decided that I will have a case. I got quick window which is ok but adds some bulk and not comfortable to use.(flip part gets in a way)
For the past several years 1 case got my attention. Ringke slim for iphone 5. http://www.amazon.com/Release-Premi...ie=UTF8&qid=1385245025&sr=1-1&keywords=ringke it was for my wife's iPhone5. (i am an iphone hater too ) it is the slimmest and most comfortable case I have ever used on any phone.(dont bring out your pitch forks and torches, it is my personal opinion)
Now that company started making cases for LG G2. http://www.amazon.com/RINGKE-PERFEC...UTF8&qid=1385245039&sr=1-1&keywords=ringke+g2
I just ordered mine and will wait to see how the quality and the comfort is.
I wanted to ask if anyone has used this case for G2 and how is the experience?
I hope somebody will benefit from this post.
Looks like that particular one only works the international variant.
I wonder how much protection it actually provides in a fall. Looks pretty sweet, though.
I had one for my g-nex and I loved it. It is very slim. It stinks they don't have a version for the Verizon g2 or I would get one.

Yeah...If Verizon just kept the original model then it would been better. More choices for accessories..
I had a Ringke Slim on my Galaxy Nexus. Loved the slim profile BUT the plastic is cheap, on my GNex model, it started getting hairline cracks on all 4 corners. This was common. Ringke shipped out replacements but the replacements did the same thing.
Since them I moved on to CaseMate Barely There and the Incipio Feather.
Out of the CaseMate and Incipio, I found the Incipio to have the overall high quality award with it's super slim profile, nice soft matte feel, and super high durable plastic that is solid all the way though (not painted like Ringke).
I put an Incipio on my womans iPhone 4 and fell in love with it. Since then I've ordered me one for my old Galaxy Nexus and have a new one on my G2.

The Poetic Palette case seems pretty hard for a slim case. It feels just a few mm thinner then a credit card but really hard. Not that it bothers me, but the case is hard to take off once you get it off. You have to take one corner off first, then the rest; I like that. Makes me feel that a fall won't just make the case come right off. Oh and it has that low profile when face down that you can barely see the glass isn't resting on the surface. Also gives you just enough clearance that the camera lens and power button aren't touching the surface too. Over all just happy with it so far

The palette case is either the soft touch feel (which i personally hate) or the "quiksand" texture. I would recommend the sand one personally.

Thats my personally recommendation of all time favorite slim cases, and I've probably been there and tried them all.

I want the Feather for my Sprint variant but all they "officially" have is the Feather Shine, which is too slippery for me. I see that they make a Feather for AT&T and Verizon. I'm assuming that I can't use the VZ, but can I buy the AT&T version for my phone.
By the way, +1 on the Ringke cheap plastic. I had the exact same case for my Gnex and while I liked it, I got the four corners cracking too.
Yea you CAN'T use the Verizon one because the Verizon one has smaller buttons. I can CONFIRM that my Verizon one, the button cut out is curved for the smaller buttons.
You CAN use the one for the AT&T version or other. I'd probably just pick them on from Amazon. All the G2's are exactly the same with the exception of the Verizon buttons. Verizon really screwed up changing those. I not only like the look of the standard buttons better but I also think it would be easier to use. Different topic though.

So I ordered the Feather AT&T version for my Sprint version and it's not a great fit. It's loose in there. I have the Feather Shine made for Sprint and it's a snug fit. The Feather is a bit wobbly. So, the search continues.....

Just put a piece of cardstock or thin cardboard... or does it wobble side to side?
