Hi guys,
i'm trying to save a friend's phone who's not really familiar with android, all what he remembers is that he tried to do a factory reset and then everythings went wrong.
so far here's the stiuation: it's a 9088 butterfly s (chinese version) with an unlocked BL, i assume it was rooted and probably had a custom recovery too (he don't know!!) since when i try to enter recovery from BL it reboot.
when i type [fastboot getvar all] here's what i got:
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 2.35.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: T3.12.1227.05
(bootloader) version-cpld: None

as you noticed the cidnum is quite weird. anyway, i tried to reflash a recovery both CWM and TWRP, nothing happened. i tried htcdev to look for a stock kernel, nothing too as mine is a DLPDTU model!! also when i type:
fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'...

Try download 4ext recovery from the play store as you're phone is on s-off status. See whether that works.

1. Take out IMEI and stuff like that
2. What exactly does it say in the bootloader? (Give a picture if possible please)
3. After flashing a custom ROM, you need to flash the boot.img which can be found in the ROM.

Also tried running the RUU but the exe is giving me an error saying 'ARUGlobal.dll is not installed'. What's that all about?
My phone did feel pretty hot just before the errors appeared. Could I have burned out my processors?
I had flashed the Elite Lunar Kernel. Could that have overheated my phone?
The radio zips that are posted here at xda are flashed from recovery not fastboot
Had the same problem, tried to flash hotspot from JB and got that error.
I resolved it by following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634256
After downgrading the HBOOT, was able to run the latest RUU and then take the OTA.
Remember reading a thread that stated doing a reset to factory fixed the problem, but that didn't work for me...
Thanks a lot! Got it working.

Where you able to do a hard reset or did you have to downgrade your hboot to get it working?
I was able to run the latest RUU to KitKat. Back on my Rom of choice, Bad Boyz HTC One, running over clocked Weeping Angel Sense kernel. My phone is back kicking ass.

You can't unlock the bootloader using fastboot oem unlock. Visit htcdev.com to unlock it.
Thanks for responding, can I use the unlock.bin file that I used when I first unlocked my phone last year ?

Sometime you need a new one but it wont hurt your phone trying to flash the unlock_code.bin you already have.

Yes you can use that
But your phone is S Off so you don't need unlock.bin ( it will erase all data + photo music etc )
There is other methods of unlocking bootloader with S Off
