So I'm fairly new to using custom roms but I've been flashing different roms on my nexus 6 for the past few weeks seeing which one I like. Anyway, I've been running chroma and lean kernel de encrypted but I was getting some weird glitches in chrome so i decidd to flash blisspop. I did a standard wipe in twrp and flashed blisspop and it just went straight to a black screen then reloaded twrp. I tried rebooting the system and I got to the blisspop splash screen but it wouldn't boot past that so I forced it to reboot to recovery (might have been a mistake) but I wiped/flashed back to the chroma rom I'd been using and that did the same thing. I managed to get it to display the error which was something along the lines of unable to access data. I tried formatting but it gives an error along the same lines. I think I somehow deleted or corrupted my data partition and I can't find any way to fix it. When I get home I can post a more specific error report if it's needed. Is there some way to reformat partitions with twrp and adb? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not adb but boot to bootloader and do "fastboot format userdata".
If you haven't an unencrypted kernel, flash one before boot

I use TWRP 2.8.7.1(which was flashed to the phone) and now after flashing this nightly version, the recovery gets stuck on the TWRP screen and flashes every 60 seconds, but never lets me use it.
I've searched through all the forums, but can't find anyone else with this problem. I just want to flash CM12.1 Snapshot, but I can't without the recovery working.
Everytime I flash the same recovery(TWRP2.8.7.1), the bootloader gives me the error "Mismatched partition size". I've tried "Fastboot boot TWRP2.8.7.1.img, but it sits stuck on the loading TWRP screen. I've cleared the cache, but still nothing.
The only recovery that I can get to work is CWM by booting the .img from the bootloader, but that still does nothing because none of the directories will mount, so I cant flash from the recovery.
I'm waiting on motorola to send me the stock files and just reflash stock and start from scratch, but I really want to save my data.
Does anybody have any clue as to what I'm doing wrong before I reset to stock?
Try this one:

If this recovery doesn't work, you may have to reflash the full stock rom

Nope.. didn't work. I had the 5.0 files from motorola that I flashed, and I'll update from there.
I really wish motorola would leave those files open to download instead of having to wait... sucks not having a phone, but I survived.
i have the same issue, any idea how to fix it ?
So I just recently received a new (to me) Nexus 6. Going through the process of unlocking the bootloader I forgot to do the command "fasboot reboot". I then installed TWRP and then booted into it. From there I rebooted the system and was brought to a screen that says encryption unsuccessful. I hit the reset button which brought me to twrp and asked for a password. I typed in "default_password", it did it's thing and rebooted to the same "encryption unsuccesful". I tried searching XDA as well as Google to no avail. When searching Google I found some threads for other devices but I didn't want to get into a worse situation than I'm already in so I thought I'd ask here before trying anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Update: I flashed the stock image (manually as the flash-all didn't work) and I was able to get the phone to boot up into Android. But whenever I reset the device it gives me the "Your device is corrupt" screen before booting into the system. And it seems like whenever I try to flash supersu or anything I'll get that message and then it just goes to a black screen and never boots into Android. I even tried to restore a TWRP backup and it still just went to the corrupt screen and then black. I was only able to get it to boot into Android after reflashing the stock images again. Is this a problem with the hardware or is there something I can do to fix it?
Edit: I've also noticed under internal storage it's only showing 23 GB available but this is the 64 GB model.

Did you format/wipe the system, data and caches - a complete factory reset ?
There are several things going on here.
1. Your device is corrupt message: This is a normal message that appears whenever you attempt to customize the device. It may also appear if there is an issue with the internal storage in general.
2. SuperSU: What version? You should be using the latest (2.76) or you risk having a bootloop.
3. TWRP: What version? Latest is 3.0.2-0. Older versions will offer to flash SuperSU. Don't accept the offer or you will enter a bootloop.
4. Internal storage: When you flashed the stock ROM you also flashed the userdata image in it, which caused you to lose half your storage. Simply wipe internal storage in TWRP to fix.
Your first thing is to fix your internal storage, which should be done through TWRP. From there, you will need to do a complete factory reset, as the failed encryption is the main reason you're getting a corrupt device warning. After the factory reset, restore the stock image, but do not flash userdata.img.
Thanks guys! Doing the factory data reset in stock recovery fixed it for me. It took about 30 minutes to complete, but now I've got root, twrp, and custom ROM and kernel with no issues.
Hi. I had miui7 running on my Mi3 and I wanted to run cm13. I used cm12 before but went back to stock miui7.
But I needed to update baseband to update to cm13 so i used the cm13update.zip from jrizzoli.github.io/dotfiles/ and it had TWRP (modified maybe?) as the recovery and I easily installed CM13 after that. Later I updated via OTA several times and it went fine until the last time when it would not boot anymore and would stay stuck in bootloop or if i went to recovery, it would start installing the last cm13 update and then end with error 7 and would give system partition has unexpected contents error.
I tried to do EVERYTHING I could to make the phone show ANYTHING other than the cm13 updating in recovery screen or the ANNOYING cm13 logo. NOTHING worked.
I tried using miflash to flash old kitkat 4.3 rom, 4.4 rom (would give partition error but i replaced the flash_all.bat from a tutorial to bypass the partition erro) and the latest 6.0 chinese developer rom and it would finish successfully within under 100 seconds and would either go back to the cm13 bootloop or go to recovery and update cm13.
I tried QPST and emmc download with 4.4 rom and it would end with no error and go right back to bootlogo. tried flashing that rom with miflash and it would end within 80 seconds and go back to boot logo.
I tried QFIL with the latest miui8 chinese dev one with firehose and it would fail when it would go near userdata. dont remember the exact error but it was something like cannot divide by zero.
The ONLY time i could flash a different recovery is when i would use the same cm13update.zip and replace the recovery.img with another img such as cwm or mi stock recovery. when i used cwm, it would also try to install cm13 and fail as well.
I tried taking the battery off and shorting the two points which made it easier to get into EDL mode to try to use QPST with no luck.
among so many tries I booted to cm13 a few times. never could it go to homescreen though. once it would not go past the password lockscreen even if i put in the proper password and another time it would but ALL the apps would crash and i would not be able to even swipe the home screens.
sometimes when i tried flashing the cwm ota roms that was in the phone previously or the latest cm14 with otg usb, i would get
INSTALL ZIP SUCCESSFUL on top of twrp but the whole screen would fill up with red writing which said
Error opening : 'data/data/cyanogenmod.platform' (no such file or directory)
and the same thing about every app that was there on the phone.
i do not care about my files theyre all backed up. I just want to use the phone again. Any help is appreciated. thanks.

Hello there, I can make and upload twrp backup of miui v8 dev version. Have you tried to restore a backup?
You'll have to make new partition for this backup ( there are so many threads like "extend partition mi3" or smth like that)
http://en.miui.com/thread-99430-1-1.html
Tried the ones from this thread?

We had a Note 5 at work get messed up. I have no idea what happened to start this but the issue is that it won't boot into the OS at all. I can get into download mode and recovery only with a custom one, using TWRP. Even when I do get into recovery wipes resets won't work. Trying most get the error about data being uncountable. When you look in TWRP internal storage shows as 0 and when you look at the data partition is shows as 0. Also when in recovery it will random reboot itself. I can't fastboot as the drivers won't work with fastboot. Tried everything to flash the latest stock rom and everything else I can think of. I was going to try wiping the EFS partition but Odin gives and error failure. Running out of ideas.
I can only seem to get into fastboot mode with a Menu saying:
Restart Bootloader
Unlock Bootloader (Unlocked)
Wipe Userdata
Exit
I haven't been able to get to any download mode at all, just this menu and stock recovery, can someone please give me instructions on this? I've gotten different files and ways to root this from many different threads and I'm confused as hell.
Never rooted this RP2 before, it's on latest OTA MR2-RC001-RZR-190914.3123. Got it unlocked before and it's been unlocked for a while but didn't go further with rooting because I got confused and didn't want to brick my expensive phone. Last phone I rooted was back on kitkat or lollipop before I switched to iPhone, so I'm not a total noob just rusty. But Razer got me back to Android and it''s changed alot. I need detailed advice please. :good: And if my instinct is telling me correctly I'd assume something is changed about the bootloader in MR2 thats affecting me right now?
That menu is the bootloader/download mode.

Have you unlocked critical partition?
https://developer.razer.com/razer-p...6.1692205032.1582602359-1206928491.1581902985
Razer recommends you use a USB 3 Type-A to Type-C spec-compliant cable for any device flashing.
THE CABLE THAT CAME WITH THE PHONE WILL NOT WORK.
If you have everything unlocked then make sure you do this
https://s3.amazonaws.com/cheryl-fac...stall_Android_Fastboot_Drivers_on_Windows.pdf
Or install using this tool
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/tool-adb-fastboot-installer-tool-windows-t3999445
If you make it this far then it's a matter of typing in the correct path in fastboot.
fastboot flash boot "arter97 name here".img
Then from the fastboot menu scroll down to boot to recovery or type fastboot reboot recovery
TWRP should boot if you installed the correct kernel.
In TWRP hit cancel then swipe to make modifications and install magisk 20.3
Profit

Okay so I couldn't flash anything originally simply because i didn't have Bootloader Interface installed. Figured that out and had everything working, unlocked, Arter Kernel 12, Magisk 20.3, EdXposed, and now after I edited build.prop to enable my regular hotspot without carrier permission and reboot. Well now I really can't flash sh?t. Even though I can get into bootloader & Recovery, when I try to fastboot flash MR1 Stock or MR2 stock just to get back into the phone it freezes on the razer logo and eventually reboots and repeats. Then i have to Reflash arter to get back into TWRP after I try to flash anything else which otherwrites Arter97.img. Finally read the red text in TWRP and /data was refusing to mount, fixed that by a basic ass wipe (DUH) Hoping that might have been the issue, my data folder was corrupt or my old data folder was mismatching with the rest of the new roms i tried to flash? Idk someone smarter plz tell me. So far my next attempt is going to be downloading a flashable Stock Deodoxed ZIP to see if flashing from within TWRP now that /Data will mount makes a difference compared to Fastboot. Tried fastboot flashing MR1 and MR2 Normal Razer Stock Rom after data remounted and now i can get to the green vortex/visualizer screen instead of just the Razer Logo before it STILL loops and then when it loops again a second time it sends me to TWRP automatically.

Will it not let you flash stock using flash_all.bat file while in fastboot mode?
I would definitely try and start over for sure if possible
