My AT&T HTC One M7.. Help? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so, I was being all in awe because this was my first root, and I did it, but here's the messy bit, I kept installing ROMs and it felt messy so I went into TWRP (Version: 2.6.3.0) and I sort of went into advanced restore/reset options and I checked off everything. Bad idea by the way. So to sum it up this far, I uninstalled the operating system. The original backup of the original stock ROM was on the phone, it's now lost. I've been trying for days to fix it, and I know I messed up big , I re-locked the phone and I cannot get it to unlock again, so I lost access to TWRP, and I just want my phone back.. When I try to flash anything, from my experience anyways, it says (in this example, the TWRP img file, for recovery),
"C:\HTCOneRoot>fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7.img
sending 'recovery' (8432 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.065s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.073s"
Really, I just want the stock ROM and for this all to be over. If someone could possibly help me, I'd love it. The phone is also AT&T, and the SIM card is disabled for the most part, it's an old phone from my (almost) uncle. As for the info I could get from fastboot:
"C:\HTCOneRoot>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.44.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4A.14.3250.13

(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!

Sorry for the spam bit, please help? I'm honestly lost. If this problem does get resolved, and I'm honestly not sure it will, I'm also interested in a good, stable Lollipop ROM for my HTC One M7. Thanks! :fingers-crossed:

2.6.3.0 is outdated, you won't be able to flash any recent rom with this, latest is 2.8.6.0
I re-locked the phone and I cannot get it to unlock again

Because you have relocked with a custom recovery installed. Unlocking the bootloader require the stock recovery to be installed.

[Q] Soft or Hard? Bricked HTC One

Okay - Don't want to say NOOB mistake but, failure to follow direction - YES. In any case I NEED HELP!!! Like everyone else, sold my phone and attempted to put it back to stock.
Changes made - Changed to Google Edition from AT&T.
- Rooted Phone - S-OFF - Changed CID to GOOGL001 - flashed GE RUU.zip -- Enough said
Changes made to go back to stock
- Changed CID back to CWS__001 -- Turned S-On ** First mistake -- Locked bootloader -- attempted to flash ATTRUU
- Went to flash cyanogenmod just to have a rom and accidentally FORMATTED in TWRP -- 2nd mistake
I have also tried every RUU that might have an inkling of success but all i get is the 12 signature verify fail
I have tried everything twice. But with out S-OFF i think i'm dead in the water.
I tried - flashing hboot1.44 (modifing android-info) and get error

There is no RUU available for .666 sw (if I remember .666 is from bell mobility?)
There is no guru reset for .666 sw
but there is a Nandroid backup avaible for .666 on htc1guru.com here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-nandroid-downloads/
Okay so i downloaded M7 TWRP Nandroid Backup CID BM 001 3.23.666.1, went to fastboot and typed "fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img". Nothing happened so i changed it too "fastboot flash recovery TWRP.zip". I got this.....

Active cmdline overflow?

I've had a look around and read other topics on this, but none have seemed to help me. I was in the middle of returning my HTC One back to stock, all was good until I did an OTA update. Now I keep getting "active cmdline overflow! (1090 bytes)"

Remove your serial number and your IMEI number from your original post like it did in the quote above, its dangerous to post it.
then see here for your problem and a fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739126
copy and paste the dd commands to be safe, if you make a mistake with the command or code then its bye bye phone.
ah thanks for that.
I've tried to flash a new recovery, but I still can't boot into it.

you HAVE TO flash that modified recovery in the thread I linked, its the only one that will work.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but that was the recovery I flashed. Yet it still reboots to the bootloader instead.

Oh sorry, my bad, reading through the thread, its states you need to downgrade your HBOOT, but ill just double check that, you are s-off so shouldn't be a problem.
it's proving tricky.
I've downloaded the hboot, when I get an error.. FAILED <remote: not allowed>
yup, seems the problem is with HBOOT 1.55 and upwards, a lot of people on there are just downgrading there HBOOT to 1.44 then the recovery works, however, if you decided to do this you need to be aware that windows 8 upwards will no longer detect your phone, you must use windows 7 or Ubuntu.
I'm using Window 7 Professional 64-bit.
Can you point me in the right direction on how to correctly downgrade? I tried to dowgrade to 1.44 and got this.

excellent, glad it worked, you have to be very careful with HBOOTs, the wrong one will lead to an instant brick, you don't want to be seeing any error's :crying:

[Q] How to unroot S-ON with CM10

I have an M7 which currently has cm10 installed and unlocked using HTC Dev. I can't S-OFF becuase the HBOOT is 1.61 (I've tried all methods apart from sunshine but they've failed)
The phone is currently locked to o2 uk, and i got an unlock code but aparrently these only work if the phone is stock.
I currently have cm10 installed, and i need to install a stock rom and relock.
I've tried flashing a RUU but no luck.
Currently have TWRP RECOVERY.
any help greatly appreciated!

O2 UK RUU is the 2nd one down in the list, instructions on how to flash it are a bit further up http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
By the way, HBOOT 1.61 (which is the Lollipop HBOOT) Sunshine is the only way to s-off this HBOOT, dont waste your time trying other methods, they will fail, and Sunshine also requires a stock rooted rom, so after flashing the rom linked above, just flash a custom recovery, root it by flashing SuperSU 2.46.zip and then download and run sunshine.......and the alternative, live with s-on.
Thanks, I tried this method but flashing the rom failed. THe process went on for several minutes then ended in this:
sending 'zip'... (368766 KB) OKAY
sending time = 15.457 secs
writing 'zip'... (bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAIL12 signature verify fail
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
Execution time is 421(s)
Now i can only boot into bootloader and not android.
after a couple of reboots i'm back into android. Thanks.

theres 2 reasons why you got those error's
1. either you are s-on and didnt relock your bootloader first
or
2. you didnt use the recommended HTC_fastboot.exe from the instructions, the normal fastboot wont work, you need to use HTC's
just to be sure, could you post your fastboot getvar all without imei and serial number please.
I did make sure to follow the instructions, i've double checked them and I did follow allt he steps including using htc's fast boot. Here are the results from getvar all
c:\fastboot>fastboot getvar all

doesnt matter which rom your already on, it doesnt change the firmware, and you are already on the latest firmware 7.18.206.2, that RUU.zip should work fine, maybe there is a problem with the RUU.
there is a stock nandroid here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934549269 which you can restore through twrp recovery if you want to get back to full stock.
