Did I just HARD BRICKED my phone?
I decided to flash Hordor kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/kernel-hodorkernel-t2865648) to get kexec-hardboot patch to test lollipop on my Xperia Z. I saved a TWRP backup of this before I flashed kernel (hardor zip that's 18mb). When I flashed the kernel from TWRP and reboot, screen goes black and no more Sony logo, no LED, but the power button does vibrate the phone. Holding Vol UP and Power doesn't do anything.
Prior to flashing, I was on Xperia C6602 KitKat with eXistenZ Rom 3.5.0 (based on 10.5.A.0.283) Locked Bootloader. Used TWRP 2.7.0.1 (not 100% sure with that number, I remember 2.7)
When I hold down power button, it vibrates, then 2 seconds later vibrates again like I was trying to turn on the phone.
I need help... And I can't test on flashtool because I'm not near a computer.
You flashed a custom kernel on a locked bootloader device. You can't do that. Use Flashtool to flash the kernel from a stock FTF and that should fix it.
Edit: Here's a kernel only FTF you can try flashing - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473396241
If that doesn't work, you might have to flash a full FTF.

Alright, that kernel only ftf solved part of my problem. Now instead of a flashing red dot and phone vibrating loop, I'm stuck in flashmode (but fixable when I flash ftf)
Huge thanks for clarifying my issue. I'll post back when I hit into something or completely solve my problem.
Happy to help.

Question, I had a few pretty important things on my Internal Storage that I don't want to lose. Is there a way to save them? Still downloading ftf (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/stock-rom-xperia-z-c6602-10-5-1-0-283-t2876962) at the moment.

When flashing, make sure that nothing is checked in the wipe section. That should ensure that your data is safe.

Dang, very fast response.
:good::good::good:
Thanks!
You're welcome.
It's always good to make sure you have backups of important stuff on your phone, especially if you're going to flash things to it. Just some advice.
THREAD SOLVED!
Thanks for getting me out of this hot mess @kingvortex !

Glad you got it sorted.

As the title suggests, I rooted my phone, unlocked BL and was about to flash CM for Honami, which is Z1, but the flashing of the ROM was stopped because it recognizes my device, a Z1, as a "togari", a Z Ultra. I find this quite odd as I have practically no idea why it does that.
I also tried flashing "togari" CM ROM, but that also fails.
Any fixes for this?

if you are sure that you have an z1... then just remove the device check in the updater script (within the zip...) it is in the beginning... cant really remember how it looks but ... search google perhaps.. then it will flash weird enough ... my s also identifies as an sl... but that is from the build prop

Haha, yes. I google for it and tried to simply delete the device check in update-script, but it didn't work for me. I believe the issue is in my recovery, which is not a 4.4 kitkat recovery. The CWM-recovery I have at the moment is 6.0.3.6 and I believe that is the reason for my issues. I have had no luck trying to find a 4.4 kitkat recovery... any tips here?

I tried this recovery too, without any luck: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49966299
To begin with I got Status 7 error, which is now gone.. I found a tutorial to flash SlimRom for Z1, which is android 4.4.2: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/android-4-4-2-kitkat-sony-xperia-z1-available-via-slimkat-rom-1432702
However, I was only able to make emergency calls, no cellular at all. I flashed CM through the same method and everything I tried worked, except cellular. Thus, I had to wipe it and install stock Sony firmware.
After that I tried flashing CM the "normal" way through recovery and everything installed as usual, but when I push reboot to reboot the system, the phone simply shuts off. Even if I press the powerbutton to turn it on, it only vibrates and nothing else happens. Again, I flashed stock firmware to be able to use the phone again...
I am very confused about this, because it does not give any errors. It simply does not work :l

just copied from the CM11 dev fora...
Install instructions:
first time
- power off the phone:
- hold vol+ and plug usb to boot into fastboot (blu led)
- fastboot flash boot boot.img (from cm10 zip)
- fastboot reboot
- enter recovery, on boot led will be violet for 3'', during this period press vol+
- flash rom zip
- flash gapps zip
- wipe
- reboot
for update just flash rom zip from recovery
Google Apps are not included in this ROM. You'll need to find those yourself if you want them.

Hi guys I seriously need help. I bricked my Z1 c6903. I accidentally deleted the OS by wiping dalvik, system, etc,. Im sorry if this was already posted somewhere here. Im new to this. If someone would kindly help me or give me help in unbricking my device Id really appreciate it.
PS, Z1 was given to me already rooted. It has TWRP recovery, and I know that Im really stupid for tinkering with the advanced option. Im new to using custom recovery, rooting, etc.

If you still have recovery , boot into recovery, mount usb and copy ROM from your PC.
Flash ROM and restart...
If you don't have recovery, use flashtool to flash ftf. (534) root it and then upgrade to 761 (latest firmware)
BTW, your device isn't bricked, there's missing system, that's all...
And yeah...that wasn't stupid at all...this things happens and, if you ask me- TWRP team should change that wipe options...
It's not well made...
First option should be only cache wipe and advanced should have format data and system option...

First of all, thanks for taking the time to reply.
I tried booting to recovery but it wont. Its stuck in the sony logo. I guess ill go with option 2(flashing ftf)
is it ok if I flash the ftf then NOT root it?
I found a guide how to flash an ftf file in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319
is this guide applicable for the z1 too?
Thank you

Yeap...
One thing is very important - use latest flashtool..and everything will be OK.
You'll be surprised how easy that is...
Flash firmware 534 (JB)
Turn device off, open flashtool and prepare 534 firmware, start flashing and connect device (holding vol down) connect device when flashtool ask for it, don't do that right away...
root it with binary method (just Google" binary root method xda") first link is what you need.
Install NUT recovery.
Restart to recovery, flash NUT 757, TURN DEVICE OFF!!!
And flash stripped ftf (that's kernel)
It's very important to turn device off, don't restart. (to flash stripped ftf)
I always practice to hit flashtool "start" button and wait for flashtool to ask for device, that's is the best way to be 100% sure your device won't leave flashmod

Man, I asked you do you still have recovery and you said no?!?
Use recovery to flash stock based ROMs like NUT or iHackers, flashtool or pc companion to flash stock unrooted firmware.
It won'tbe a problem if you have twrp (recovery), it'll wipe everything...
We are talking for a two hours and you are asking same question over and over again...

Turn the phone off, do not attach it to the PC

This is my first time using XDA. I can't post this in development threads, so I'm putting it here.
I am rooted, bootloaded locked, and have been using Existenz. When I updated to Existenz 4.0, (cleared cache and dalvic cache) I got a bootloop. It says SONY then that fades away. If I charge it, the bottom light glows red. If I connect to computer in flashmode (volume down) the bottom glows green. I have TWRP and CWM but don't know how to boot into them, as the thing my xperia sp normally does (bottom cycles through three colors, during which you hit a button to boot into recovery) isn't happening. I need urgent help. Thanks in advance

select fastboot
than click on flash kernel to flash
specify the path for the file
click ok and your recovery will be installed..

Do not flash this kernel if you are bootloader locked as you said you were.
Just download a full 205 FTF and start from scratch with towelroot and recovery from dev section. Then reflash existenz.

Yes flash through flashtool, just make sure the TA partition isnt selected and then flash using default settings.
Yes towelroot works, ive used it loads of times myself.
Hi guys!
I've wanted to install CM11 on my Xperia SP. I unlocked bootloader, flashed kernel and installed a zip from sd, but when I'm rebooting there's only CM logo. I was patient, but it didn't turned on after 7 hours. I made full wipe and format before installing. Could you help me?
Same problem here. I also unlocked the bootloader, did the wipe & format, then installed the zip. (I didn't flash a kernel.) If I remember correctly, there were some error messages during the wipe & format stage. I'll look it up when I'm home, haven't got the phone with me right now.

Well if you are coming from stock directly, I would advise you to flash the kernel first and then flash the rom from the recovery.
Its about some mounts and partitions.

YES! Thank you! Flashing a kernel first (I used WilliamsKernel) solved this for me.
*SOLVED
super0dd said:
Yes, it was a stupid mistake.
Locked bootloader. Couple of minutes ago, I just flashed in the XZDualRecovery and then flashed the kernel of TrinityVengeanceRaptorX™ HD 1.3 . After that, I made a serious mistake: I FORGOT TO FLASH THE ROM AND PRESSED "Reboot System".
So now, when I press the power button, my Z1 merely vibrates for once, sometimes with the red light blinking for a while. Yeah, it bricked. Not even show the bootlogo.
Before I flash that kernel, I had backed up my whole system, every partition, so is it possible that I could re-flash the recovery and then restore everything?
Or I have to use a ftf to wipe out everything entirely?
